WOW, here we are the 4th Friday of January with three weeks of the new year gone! Okay, it’s time to reveal the winner in round two of BoTB.  In last Friday’s “I Can See Clearly Now” showdown,  it was Georgeana Bonow verses The Moon Loungers.

Georgeana received votes from… Tom, Sandee, Mary, John, Stephen, Mike T., Eugenia, Birgit, Lee, & CW

The Moon Loungers got votes from… Mike S., Kathe, Debbie, Ellen, Mini, & Bro Napolean

Taking this showdown with a 10 to 6 win, I give you Georgeana Bonow who doesn’t have to Apologize for being the best in this round!

Thanks to everyone who voted in this showdown. If you missed out, not to worry you can have a say-so in the next BoTB showdown on Monday, February 1st. Mark your calendar!

Now, it’s time for some random giggles with these Friday Sillies!

Ellen at 15andMeowing and Lorraine at Four-Legged Furballs share each Thursday four blank statements for us to copy and paste to create an entry for their Friday Friendly Fill-ins. Rounding things out this is how I filled in the blanks.

1. Why I stress eat the wrong foods is a mystery I would love to know the answer to.  Honestly, I know this is a super bad habit and am making progress to overcome it but I still have days when I revert to old habits.

2. Lubec, Maine is the farthest I have ever been from home.  That’s more than 1200 miles from Knoxville.  While visiting Bar Harbor, ME in 1997 one of our day trips was Lubec where we saw West Quoddy Lighthouse.

3. I’ve lost count of how many times walked into a room to forget why I went there in the first place.

4. Autumn leaves tumbling from the sky  reminds me of snowflakes swirling gracefully to the ground.

That’s it for now.  I’ll be with Monday’s Music Moves Me ready to hit the dance floor ‘your choice song picks’ and I hope you’ll swing by to boogie with me. Have a funtastic Friday, dear friends! X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. Nice funnies. I have been known to text my husband when I am upstairs and he is downstairs, but I have never outdone my son, who I’ve seen texting (pre COVID, of course) someone sitting next to him on the sofa. My late mother inlaw once tried to use her landline phone as the remote control to the TV and wondered why it wasn’t working. Actually, they do look kind of alike.

  2. Thank you for always bringing the laughs with your funnies! And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I’m glad I’m not the only one who walks into a room and then can’t remember why I’m there. I’ll know I went in there for a reason, but the actual reason escapes me. I don’t usually remember why I went there until I’ve already left and settled in somewhere else. And your answer to #4 is lovely. Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Love all the funnies, especially the text one.
I can relate to #3 fill in several times a day so write myself notes instead.

  4. Great funnies- my fav is when your sweetie texts you and your phone is in the kitchen! Bwa hahah, Have a lovely day!

  5. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I can relate to #3, I do that often. 🙂 I haven’t even been that far up in Maine and I live in Massachusetts. 🙂 Have a nice weekend. XO

  6. The vaccine song is funny and I love that song and danced to it many times. Your funnies are hilarious and love the Cat one with the pizza and the 2 old ladies. I eat bad stuff if it is in the house because I can’t say no to chocolate. I eat tons of fruit and nuts..but a month ago I was face first into chocolate and cookies. I have been to Budapest, Hungary and Prague, Czech Republic. I am not sure which is farther but I will go with Budapest and I went in 1982 when the communists were in power. One does not know lack of freedom until one visits a communist place. Seeing armed police everywhere, sense of being watched plus travelling back and having to get off the bus at the border with armed guards in towers, a wall, barbed wire and dogs checking every inch of the bus, made me cherish what I have all the more.

  7. I liked the funnies Cathy haha! Hope all is OK where you are and keeping safe

Have a safetastic weekend and now i have the song I Can See Clearly Now going on in my head haha! 😷😷😷

  8. Yay on the showdown winner.

Love all the fill-ins and we’re on the same page with some. I’m not surprised.

Loved the cats ordering the pizza. They run the house and we know it.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Love and hugs, my friend. ♥

  9. I don’t know how I missed the last show down. I will keep a better eye on my blog list. Truly that is the furthest you have been away from home? I have traveled a lot and the furthest from home was 6,000 miles when I went to Japan. In the use 2,500 miles coast to coast. I stress eat as well. Love the photo and your funnies. Have a great day.

  10. Hi, Cathy!

I hope you’ve had a good week, dear friend. I’m here for some Friday Sillies and to learn how your band battle turned out.

Well, I’m delighted to learn that Georgeana collected more votes in the BOTB. The final score was close enough to leave you feeling good about the evenly matched contestants you chose. As I stated the day the battle began, it was a very tough decision for me. I must say that I like Georgeana even more after listening to “Apologize.” Notice how her intimate voice gets right inside your head? I love it! I hope the lovely and talented Portuguese artist becomes a major international star.

Your Feline Friday cartoon ties-in with my new post. 🙂 The old ladies in the Friendship Friday cartoon remind me of ME. 🙂 Your Friendly Friday Fill-ins answer about having traveled to far away Maine reminds me that I want to go there, too. I remember your post showing West Quoddy Lighthouse. I admire the picture you took of the pretty flamingo pink and blue sky and posted today for Skywatch Friday. The song parodies posted by the Holderness couple are consistently great. I thoroughly enjoyed their parody of “Come On Eileen,” the 1982 hit by the English new wave group Dexys Midnight Runners. The couple’s parodies work because they are well written, mewiscally enjoyable, and because Mr. & Mrs. Holderness are both attractive and have excellent comedic skills.

Thanks for the Friday Sillies and mewiscal offerings, dear friend Cathy. I wish you and DH a safe and happy weekend!
