Thursday Art Date

‘Grays & Browns’ #art theme #TADWR

Howdy and Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends!  Today’s art prompt is ‘Grays & Browns’.  Naturally, I tied the colors to the holiday at hand.

I based my sketched on an anime turkey I found in my Google search and I couldn’t resist the addition of these elements – sign, fallen leaves, pumpkin, and ‘Happy Thanksgiving’ message.

No one would eat this adorable little turkey. I mean, who’d have the heart except the most crueliest person.  I assure you the turkey we’re having is an ugly old gobbler who no doubt was a grouch and deserved the axe.

Thanks for stopping in with your coffee for a peek at my masterpiece and …oh yeah for not spilling it on my artwork. 😉

It’s a super pleasure to share my sprinkle of talent with you this morning. 😘 If you like to see what others are bringing to the art play date, then I invite you to high tail it over to Rain’s Garden to browse through the gallery of artistry!

I seriously doubt many anyone will be around for the next few days with the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US and then the kick off to the holiday shopping season but being the responsible blogger that I am I’m bringing to you a double header that includes a hefty dose of laughter with these Friday Sillies.

During my blogging hiatus, I will read comments, casually respond, and who knows make a few visits.  My presence online is up in the air as we plan to enjoy the holiday season like we did last year, so kindly be patient with me and know that all is well on this end. 😉

Have a blessed Thanksgiving Day with your family and friends. Please roll yourself back over on Saturday for my December 1st Battle of the Bands!

Well you are full of fun and I was smiling and even laughing at your comics, video and especially your sweet little turkey who you have pardoned and saved from the axe. I try not to think about who I am serving on my table, though I have to admit, I know and it does bother me … especially pork as I am aware how smart pigs are and that they know what is happening to them. I often consider vegan, but haven’t made the jump. Lovely, fun post Cathy. Hope your grouchy old turkey was good 🙂

Andrea, that ole grouchy turkey was mmm good! I confess I do not feel quilts for eating livestock as long as animals aren’t treated cruelly. I believe they should be slaughtered quickly with the least amount of pain. I couldn’t be a vegan because I enjoy meat too much. Thanks for visiting.

I would definitely not eat that adorable little turkey – he has human eyes!

I hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving and will be able to enjoy your hiatus. You’ve earned it!

Nicole, yes we had a nice TD. We got to get together with our kids on Friday so that was super nice. DD#1 invited us to her home. It was especially nice to play with my granddaughter who now walKs. What a difference a year makes in baby’s life. Lol

Hi Cathy, I’m still laughing at all the turkey jokes, love them Toooooooooooo funny. Love the turkey cartoon, too, really well thought out. No Thanksgiving day here, just a grey, wet and wind Thursday. Have a wonderful vacation, have fun, and take good care of yourself. Hugs, Valerie

    Hi, Cathy!

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING, dear friend!

Mrs. S and I will be leaving later this morning on the last leg of our journey, having dinner with her daughter and family and returning home this evening. I am pleased to join you for your Friday Sillies on Thanksgiving Thursday and to examine the torrent of talent on display in your artwork. I agree it would be mean to eat that cute little protester turkey. I notice he’s the only one brave enough to go on the picket line. (His friends are all “chicken.” 🙂 I got a giggle out of the T-giving turkey cartoons, especially the turkey fetching his master’s slippers hoping to become indispensable and spare his own life. I watched SNL during the years Adam S and Kevin N were in the cast, but I don’t remember Adam doing that goofy Thanksgiving song. It’s hilarious,

Thanks for the holiday laughs, Cathy. I’m sure you know how thankful I am for your loyal friendship all these years, Your posts are consistently entertaining and fun and your pleasing personality is the icing on the cake. I wish you and DH and your whole family a safe and happy Thanksgiving. I will be back Saturday for your band battle. Take care, dear friend!
