Wordless Wednesday

God and Country #WW w/ Hodgepodge

Also, linking with the Skywatch Friday community! 😉

Welcome Kittens & Dawgs! In November I shared the Tic Toc Ice Cream Parlor in Loudon TN on a not-so-Wordless Wednesday. I took this photo from the parking lot behind Tic Toc. I liked how I could see the church steeple and the home waving the American flag. I love patriotism!

I’m joining Joyce for this this week’s  Wednesday Hodgepodge Q&A.

1. February can be a little bit tricky given the weather and the winter and the whatnot. I read a list (here) of things you can do to make your February brighter which included-start planning your next trip, take more baths, make your own chocolate covered strawberries, and exercise in preparation for swimsuit season. Anything on the list you might try? Which suggestion on the list appeals to you most? Tell us something not on the list that helps make your February brighter. The only thing on the list that interests me is exercise. I enjoy wearing shorts and skirts in the warmer months. I definitely need to trim down a bit before wearing my fun summer wear so I need to hit hard beginning now.  The one thing that makes not on February brighter but anytime during the winter is watching a gorgeous East Tennessee sunrise. That’s one way to start the day off cheery.

An East Tennessee January morning sunrise

2. Tell us about something you’ve seen or done recently that you’d say was ‘super’? I think it’s ‘super’ that the Eagles won the Super Bowl.

3. Best thing you ate in a ‘bowl’ last week? Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios

4. Something you’re ‘cheering’ for right now? At the moment, I’m no cheering for anything. However, I did cheer for the Eagles in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

5. The Winter Olympics begin Friday, February 9th in Pyeong Chang, South Korea. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being all in and 1 being no interest whatsoever) how interested are you in the games? Which event do you most want to see (you’ll find a list here). I’m giving the Olympic games a “5”. In years’ past the games excited me. I loved cheering for American Olympians but I’m going to be honest there are some athletes this time who spout off about their political discontent.  These little snowflakes won’t get my support. If TV ad or box of cereal feature these athletes then I’ll flip the channel or buy the product. It’s that simple. My favorite winter sport is figure skating but I’m not overly excited about watching because female skaters today aren’t as graceful as they used to be and male skaters are too feminine.

6. Insert your own random thought here.   In yesterday’s get-to-know-me post, I shared The Very Best of Ohio Express and while I was pulling that post together this sampler of Bubblegum mewsic popped (get it, bubblegum) on my radar and I thought I’d bring it to you today.

Have a good day and please join me tomorrow for the results in Falling Slowly BoTB showdown and Thursday Two Questions (#T2Q)!

Chocolate peanut butter cheerios sound amazing – I don’t think we can get those over here but I will definitely be looking. Love the photo with the church spire, beautiful.
    Have a really great weekend.

I am patriotic, as well, and love your photos. Oh, how I remember the Bubblegum music. It was fun and energetic. Thank you for sharing the fun video.

      Eugenia,

I love the a patriotic spirit of Americans! We need to embrace the love for God and country as a nation instead of allowing difference divid. This is what the enemy wants because a divided nation is one that easily falls. 😉 May God bless America!

Love the dramatic sky. I think they included an awful lot of music under the bubble gum category. I hate to see the talented Monkees included in the same category as that Hanky Panky noise, which is one of my most-disliked records of all time.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Linda,

I think Hanky Panky is a fun song. lol This video sure does have a lot of oldies, many I forgot about but it was fun to hear them after all this time. Thanks for joining!

    Nice photos, CATHY!

    >>… “but I’m going to be honest there are some athletes this time who spout off about their political discontent. These little snowflakes won’t get my support. … the younger generation is the worst!”

I don’t think even most Millennials like Millennials. Worst, most disliked generation EVER! (Of course, at least half of the blame has to go to their parents.)

Down with Starbucks! Down with Soy Boys!! :^)

      Stephen,

I don’t think Millennials like anyone, except themselves. Parents do bare responsibility. We raised our kids conservatively but they’ve chosen to go against their teachings. We know God will one day open their minds to the truth.

I didn’t know you had a WW. Thank you for letting me know. I love your photo with the glimpse of the town behind the town and your sunrise photo also. Love the moon peeking out through the clouds. At least I think that’s the moon.

You and I are both patriotic. I can see our political views are alike. We live in a great country. We should all focus on the good and not dwell on all the bad. Some of the bad for some is that they didn’t get what they wanted. Too bad.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, my friend. ♥

      Sandee,

We have a society full of spoiled people of all ages but the younger generation is the worst! If I acted like these youngsters do, my mother would’ve probably taken me to the woodshed. lol

Anything chocolate is good with me. I feel super that nothing happened to me last week! I am happy when I see a flower right now. I also love this music! It’s fun, happy and one can dance…what else does one want

  • 15andmeowing

That is a great photo. I would love to make my own chocolate covered strawberries, but I don’t even think there are any strawberries at the grocery store right now. Those cherrios sound good, how did I not know they existed ? Have a great day and thanks for hosting. 🙂

Thanks for sharing that video on Bubblegum pop. I enjoyed the whole thing and was reminded of some cartoon shows I had totally forgotten about. Bobby Sherman was so swoon worthy! What a trip down memory lane!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Stacy,

I’m glad you enjoyed the mewsic video. I remember back in the day how all the girls were in love with Bobby Sherman. I liked him but I don’t know if he made my heart skip a beat but I did have a crush on David Cassidy. May he RIP! Thanks for stopping by today!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Katie,

I was a bit skeptical since I am not crazy over the chocolate Cheerio’s but being curious I thought I’d give them a try anyhow and I’m glad that I did! This is definitely going to be a repeat purchase.

  • jodaley

I have never tried chocolate PB Cheerios. I don’t think I knew they even made them. I can’t handle overly sweet cereal so not sure how I’d like them. Swimsuit season rolls around here pretty quick and lasts a while so I need to get busy too!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Jo,

Cheerios are not overly sweet like many other cereals. That’s one thing I like about them! Have you tried their fruity version? Those are really good, too.
