Friday Fun Stuff

Friday Sillies 2018 #Christmas Edition 4

Purrs and hisses, Kittens & Dawgs!  Are you relaxing yet?  Although DH is at the office today, thankfully it’s a short week since he only had to work two days.  I hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas.  Let’s get our grins on with these Friday Sillies!

The Twelve Days After Christmas lyrics by Frederick Silver

I’m rounding things out with these Friendly Fill-Ins .

  1. On New Year’s Eve, I will spend it with DH doing our annual movie marathon until the ball drops in Time Square.
  2. A goal that I have for 2019 is get into a new house. Yes, that was my goal for this year. Better luck next year, right?
  3. If I had to choose a guide word for 2019, it would be “control”, as in control my anger, my judgment, my tongue, my days,… Situations that I can control, I should control instead of letting it control me.
  4. New beginnings aren’t just at the start of each year but every day. I want to make the most of each moment and if I can’t get it all done then try the next day.
Hostess the lovely, Ellen & Lorraine

That’s a wrap for now but I hope to see you on the dance floor for this year’s final All Things Christmas mewsic picks on Mondays Mewsic Moves Me!

I’m sorry I’m so late to visit. Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I really like the guide word you chose. One of my intentions for this year is similar, especially when it comes to time management. When I have control over how I use my time, I really need to use it more wisely. Wishing you a happy, healthy, and blessed New Year!

Pawsome answers and we agree about each day being a new start. The Tribe of Five never knows if it will be a tuna day, cheese for treats or other goodies. Every morning brings something to look forward to. We wish you a blessed and joyful 2019!

I’m always relaxing these days! There’s no holiday chaos or family drama when you move 2,000 miles away!
No plans for New Years Eve, but on the 1st we have a couple friends coming over to watch Twilight Zone episodes. …for some reason. It’ll be fun!

Gotta love Maxine. She always makes me think of my granny, with her spunk and bluntness. 🙂

I hope that you will be able to get into a new house this year, Cathy.

    Sometimes self-control is a very difficult thing. I’m having to exercise a great deal of it these days, too. May you get the control that you need to be the person that you want to be. {{{Hugs}}}

Have a blessed weekend and a very happy New Year!

First…thank you for the card….don’t you love those e cards? I am still sick and fighting a fever which sucks. Love the sillies and I do feel like that cat for sure. Look at it this way….you have the ability to wait for a home that will suit you, you are not in a rush which means you will find the right one. I do want to lose weight so my word is patience….to wait to see results from being on my hypoglycaemic diet. I hope to walk more and do some exercises that I can do. I need to find patience for my hubby who has severe ADHD, my clients because that makes me a better counsellor and patience with myself and not be so hard on myself. As for New Year’s…my hubby hates New Year’s so I will be watching the ball drop on my own I believe. I have to get to bed…slept a lot of the day.

      Birgit,

I’m sorry to read that you’re not well. What a bummer to be sick for the holidays! I think we can all relate to that fat cat. lol Walking is a great exercise. I enjoy using my elliptical a lot. After things settle down and my leg heals more (I bruised it really bad a couple of weeks ago) I’ll get back into my daily workouts. Patience is a good one for any of us to have but especially when dealing with those we love. Why does your hubby hate New Year’s Eve? We enjoy having a simple little celebration at home where it’s safe and we generally go to bed shortly after midnight. It’s hard staying up much later than that these days. lol

Excellent answers. TW has learned to pick her battles instead of getting mad and fighting every time. Around here grocery shopping is a contact sport. If you don’t read every register receipt they will rip you off. They’ve already charged her for avocados when she bought less expensive mangoes and pineapples for bananas. Try to figure that out.

I sympathise with that cat. We went to a hotel for 4 days, all meals and entertainment included, and now I feel just like him!

Hi Cathy 🙂 Funny funnies!!! I love the kitty sketch at the top of your post too, very cute!

Oh we have a goal in common! Alex and I are hoping and hoping we find our dream home in 2019!! We are renting and this will be our first home, we’ll be starting our serious search starting in the spring! Fingers crossed for all of us on that goal!!

What movies are you watching on New Year’s Eve? We’ll be feasting and probably watching movies, not sure which ones yet!

I agree, let’s all make the most of each day and give ourselves a break at the same time. 🙂

    Great goals!!! 🙂

Those were cute comics. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I like your guide word and I hope you get into a new house this year. Wishing you and DH a happy and healthy 2019! XO

      Sandee,

I’m happy you found time to pop over for a visit. This year is slipping away fast. I can’t believe we’re fixing to usher a new one so soon. I don’t which is worse, a year that drags by or zings off the calendar? I appreciate you linking me up to Feline Friday. You’re such a sweet friend. Have a marvelous weekend and blessed New Year!

    Hi, Cathy!

I am on the road again, dear friend. Mrs. Shady and I traveled across the state yesterday and we are staying with family members and distributing presents to the children we did not see on Christmas Day. Today will be the last of our holiday family gatherings.

I enjoyed your Friday Sillies, the last edition of 2018. I got a laugh out of Santa thrown in the slammer charged with, among other things, “grand theft cookie.” How true it is that, after Christmas, we are left with less money than we need and more inches around our waist than we want. I love that whimsical, operatic performance of “The Twelve Days AFTER Christmas.” I never heard that one before.

Cathy, thank you so very much for another full year of friendship and support. I really enjoy your blog and I love to entertain you on mine. I wish you and your family a safe, happy, healthy and prosperous 2019!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Tom,

I hope you and Mrs. Shady have a lovely time visiting family who couldn’t make it for Christmas. I’m left shaking my head perplexed how fast this year has vanished. It’s been nearly non-stop around here since March, so I’m really ready for things to slow down just a bit. Then, I think about the things I hope to accomplish in 2019 and if we’re able to meet our major goal (getting into a new house) then we’ll probably be very busy with that project for months and months. Oh, well…I will take things one day at a time and just enjoy whatever comes my way.

Your friendship means a lot to me and I am looking forward to visiting your blog often throughout the new year because I know I will not only be entertained but educated. Here’s to health, happiness, and success with God’s blessing in 2019, my good friend!
