Saturday Songsuasion

Finish pop artist – Anna Eriksson!

Good morning, kittens & dawgs!  I’m taking a new direction with my mewsic listening and I hope you enjoy the change.  Let’s broaden our mewsic listening pleasures for a taste from Finland as I present to you, Anna Eriksson!

Listen to the entire playlist while you do other things and you can subscribe to Anna’s YouTube channel to stay connected.

Anna has a beautiful voice, doesn’t she? There’s something special about foreign mewsic and enjoy listening to her songs in her native language.  After digging around I finally found Anna on Facebook where I found two lovely mewsic videos.

She does an equally lovely job in English, doesn’t she?

I invite you to tweet the mews, if you enjoyed today’s mewsic with your friends.

Nancy, I’m delighted you decided to join me in my new international mewsic installment. Initially, Tom from Shady Dell Music & Memories inspired me with his past foreign mewsic artists and I decided to honor my first international pal by choosing an artist from her country, Finland as my first choice. Please watch for more intros similar to today mewsic feature. Have an puurfect afternoon, my friend!

    Hi, Cathy!

I’m having a jumbo cup of Starbucks and enjoying these mewsic videos starring Anna Eriksson. She is beautiful and has a lovely voice. If you had not revealed in the intro that she is Finnish and had only presented videos of her singing in English, I never would have guessed that English is not her native tongue. At times she reminds me of Agnetha Fältskog, the blonde beauty from the Swedish group ABBA, who later released three fine albums as a solo artist.

It makes me very happy to see a great friend like you branching out and discovering as I did the joys of international artists and foreign language recordings. I started getting into acts from other countries in 2013 when I began listening to Scandinavian, German and Italian heavy metal and retro “Sunset Strip sleaze-rock” bands inspired by Motley Crue and their ilk. In 2015 my interest expanded to modern pop and dance-pop, resulting in my year-long pop series in 2016. During those months I discovered Swedish singers Zara Larsson, Robyn Carlsson, Agnes Carlsson and September (Petra Marklund), along with the Russian girl group Serebro and many fine Romanian singers including INNA, Alexandra Stan and Elena Gheorghe. When I listen to any of those ladies sing in their native language it refreshes me, “cleanses the palate” and exercises my brain.

Thank you very much for introducing the mewsic and magic of Finnish pop and rock singer Anna Eriksson, dear friend Cathy. I thoroughly enjoyed your Saturday morning concert. Have a great weekend!

Tom, I knew if anyone would appreciate the intro of the lovely Finish pop artist, Anna Eriksson, would be you. Actually, it’s you who inspired me to branch out to try other culture’s mewsic. I thought it would be a great way to diversify my own mewsical experience but to enrich others just like you’ve done on Shady Dell Music & Memories. I hope to share more international singers in the coming days and weeks. Perhaps you’ll enjoy my discoveries and I’ll be eager to read what you thought about each find I stumble upon. Thank you for including me in your weekend. Before I close, let me share that overnight we got about 3-5 inches of snow. It’s a bright sunny day with the current temps at 21º (high expected to be only 23º). Have a good day, my friend. I’m sure you’re not having any trouble keeping warm. 🙂

It is cloudy and rainy down here, Cathy. The wind is howling and the temperature is dropping. We are expecting an overnight low of 38 – can you believe it? I can’t wait because I am very tired of the heat and humidity and ready for a taste of winter. Send me some snow! 🙂

        Thanks, dear friend!

Tom, I totally understand how you’re looking forward to a little winter relief and 38 for a low isn’t bad. We’re forecast for single digits tonight which I do not like. Heck, anytime it drops into the 20s is a bit much for me. Oh well, it’s time to curl up with a hot cup of cocoa and lots of marshmallows! ?
