F is for Finale

This week, three of our favorite Reality TV shows had their season’s finales. What will we do?

It all began on Sunday night.  Donald Trump announced the new Celebrity Apprentice in his 2-hour fanfare.

Over the last few months, one celebrity after another got fired from the show and then everyone reunited on stage for the big production between Marlee Matlin and John Rich.  Both celebrities charities were for children.

Marlee played for The Starkey Hearing Foundation and John worked to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

I liked both celebrities. I would’ve been happy with either one but I felt a slight tug of my heart for John Rich to win.  I felt like John was the more talented and creative of the two celebrities.  I was not familiar with John Rich until Celebrity Apprentice so it was interesting to get to know him through this season.

As it turned out, John Rich, a country singing boy took victory as the next Celebrity Apprentice Super Star. Congratulations John, you deserve it!  Watch John Rich perform his new song, For The Kids ( You can buy MP3 Download @ Amazon for $0.99) with Marlee Matlin signing.  It’s so beautiful!

Monday night Dancing with the Stars allowed their three finalist one last shot on the dance floor. Actress, Kristie Alley,  and her professional dance partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy,  Disney’s star, Chelsea Kane,  paired with Latin Style dancer, Mark Ballas, and Pittsburgh Steelers’ finest, Hines Ward, with one of my favorite female dancers, Kym Johnson.

It was perfectly clear in my mind the couple who would take the Mirror Ball Trophy would be either Chelsea & Mark or Hines & Kym.  I was certain, Kristie & Maks would take third place.  I was totally shocked. Did I say totally shocked? Yes, I was totally shocked when Chelsea and Mark placed third. Oh my goodness! How insane is that? They didn’t’ deserve to be in the bottom.  However, thankfully, (phew) Hines and Kym won. Way to go Hines and Kym!

Last night, the finale of American Idol televised.  Twenty-four young talents emerged. Now, only two were left standing – Scotty McCreey and Lauren Alaina.  Both young talents are equal. Over the weeks of competition, they stepped outside their country singing comfort zone to perform many styles of music with their own signature flair and poise. They are true artists – multi-talented and flawless.  Again, two of my favorite contestants – neither one would disappoint me to be named the next American Idol, but deep inside I knew who the winner was and I was absolutely right, Scotty McCreey – you’re an American Idol!

“All good things must come to an end,” as the old saying goes.  This season of our favorites was no different and it to had to come to an end with each finale aired.  Until the next season’s lineup. Farewell – Celebrity Apprentice, Dancing with the Stars, and America Idol fans everywhere!

Thank-you Miss Jenny, for hosting this super cool, brain-boosting meme, Alphabe-Thursday! Don’t miss the action, join the fun next!

Have a terrific Thursday!

@google-5c0f46440e25eb62876bea37ab28f21b:disqus We do watch a lot of reruns on DVD. We are so hooked on our favorite TV show, 24, which was taken off almost 2-years ago.

@aad93a94e3d44b1fcf10a529b7cdd4b7 I know how you feel. This competition  has gotten to be more of a popularity thing.  I don’t know how Kristie Alley managed to get second place.  She’s a good dancer, but I saw better ones eliminated who should have had a shot at the finales instead of her.  Your idea of the judges’ scoring weighting more would be a nice idea, but I see them too often not judging like they should, but instead try to do what is the most favorable outcome.  This causes voters to vte differently, I believe.

@321cc106f053765dff787c0bf5739462 Well…Americas Got Talent comes on tonight. So, we’ll be watching that for sure!

I was leaning a little bit toward Scotty, though I thought they were both deserving.

As for the dancers, I couldn’t believe Kirstie came in second, either. That was definitely popularity speaking, because the little Disney girl was GREAT. (I liked Hines and Kim, so I was fine with the outcome.)

so many of my shows are on their finales as well. I was happy with both Lauren or Scotty winning. After hearing him with Tim Mcgraw…wow he sounded so good!  Congrats for being the featured blog on follow friday 40 and over!

    Hi!
Great run down on the finale of your shows.  I hate when the end of the season comes.  Then I have to find something else to watch for the summer.  Have a great day!
