Monday's Music Moves Me

Contemporary Christian Mewsic of Thanks & Gratitude + #BoTB Results

Hop over to see Sandee for more Awww Mondays fun-spiration!

Good morning, Kittens and Dawgs! I hope y’all had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday.  Angelina Nicole (pictured above) is one extra blessing for us this Thanksgiving.  We’re a proud Mimi & Poppy.  God is so good!

Wasn’t it just yesterday I said this is the last Monday of the month?  WOW, here we are at the end of November!  Let’s try not to dwell on how time waits on no one and just enjoy some mewsic.  Does that sound good with you?  Alrighty, I decided since it’s “your choice song picks‘ week to continue the mood of thanksgiving and gratitude but first let me say, thank you on a job well done to Stacy. She came up with two furtastic themes this month. Way to go, my friend! Way to go!

I created a short YT playlist of 7 songs contemporary Christian artists for your enjoyment; just hit play for a non-stop listening pleasure.

Alana won’t be joining us today.  I learned this morning after my post published that her elderly mother-in-law passed away and while this was half expected given her MIL’s health issues, it’s never easy losing someone you love.  Please keep her and her family in prayers. Thank you so much!

Now, please join my fellow co-hosts: XmasDolly (4M Brain Child), Stacy,  and Colette on the dance floor (ONLY link mewsic posts) below.

THE RESULTS…

Before I skip off, let me share the outcome of my ‘Fox on the Run’ #BoTB Showdown.  I got a bit worried about this battle.  The count was leaning heavily in favor one direction but the showdown got tighter before the battle was over which turned into an excellent surprise. It probably won’t be a shock to you of the outcome with a 10-6 victory the winner is ….

Sweet!

I told you that I couldn’t remember Sweet’s FOTR song until I heard it. I couldn’t even remember the group. Mary reminded me of their 80s ‘Ballroom Blitz’ which I rediscovered while pulling this showdown together but what surprised me is the song I found from the 70s that I did not know they did.  Does this ring a bell?

I’m sure you’ll find me a bit slow today after a long holiday weekend but I will eventually make my rounds.  Keep those tunes playing, your body swaying, and I’ll be boogieing over to see you soon! X💋X💋, Cathy

Angelina Nicole is beautiful! I’m glad you had a great Thanksgiving (and don’t worry, DD#2 will make them even more special when she’s able to join in on other years. 😉 ) Love all your song choices – I’m a fan of Contemporary Christian music, too. 🙂 Have a great weekend, my friend! 🙂

Angelina Nicole is a doll! 🙂 Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Cathy.

That is sad news about Alana’s MIL. 🙁 May she R.I.P.

I don’t know much about contemporary Christian music, so, thanks for the introduction.

Glad to be on the winning side in your battle. “Little Willy” brings back all kinds of memories! 😀

Have a good rest of the week!

      Debbie,

Angelina is a living doll!:) Yes, it’s sad about Alana’s MIL. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been well for some time. Death never comes at a good time, either. ‘Little Willy’ is a fun oldie. I always think of my uncle when I hear the song.

      Lee,

Ah, I didn’t know your youngest girl shares the same name as my little Angel. That’s cool! We used to call DD#1 our June Angel. I don’t know if that inspired her in her name choice. I need to ask her. My battle turned out better than I first thought. 🙂

Girlfriend, she is just sooooooo very precious & I’m sure another diamond in your life. Thank you for sharing such a close precious love of your life with us all. Love your tune choices too. Haven’t heard Little Willy in ages… hahaha Have a great day. Have much to do today with decorating the frontroom the way I want it… hubby wants to help, but hopefully I’ll get it done first. ~hehehehe~ Thanks for cuttin’ a rug with me girlfriend! hugs

      Marie,

Angelina is a little diamond in my life. She’s a really good baby. 🙂 I got my Christmas village put up today, hung our stockings, and put my jingle bell wreath on the door. Our tree is small but DH & I like to decorate it together which we hope to do tomorrow evening. Hopefully, next year we’ll be in another house by this time and we can put up our large tree. I really miss having my big tree. I also began my candy making. I’m working on my chocolate covered cherries recipes. I got the center portion made. Tomorrow I will use the vanilla center and roll the cherries before chilling and then dipping in dark chocolate. Yum, I can’t wait to have some! ;p

Your granddaughter is beautiful, Cathy. I’m not much of a fan of Contemporary Christian, however, I appreciate the peppier beat and feel it is appealing to the younger set.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Eugenia,

DH’s isn’t a fan of contemporary Christian mewsic, either. He always says, “I like the message but that’s about it.” I have to agree with you, my little Angel is beautiful! 🙂

what a beautiful child- such a blessed gift. I read your comments about the bears- we have yet to see one on our property- but we do see their “calling cards” in the middle of our very long driveway. Plus they periodically wipe out our bird feeders if we forget to bring them in before dark! And speaking of dark- we do not take our garbage out to the air tight can in the garage at night. Not only because of bears, but also we have cougars stroll through- again we don’t see
them just find their “calling cards” also…..this morning we had 20!!! wild turkeys stroll through- I went outside and said “gobble gobble” and they ran up to get handouts of sunflower seeds tossed to them. Very fun birds!

      Kathe,

Holy Moly, You have COUGARS?! I know wildlife regardless of what it is, even a deer, can be dangerous but it’s the big game that frightens me. It would be pAwesome to see a cougar. Maybe, you’ll get that chance, from the safety of your home, before your move. Thanks for dropping by today!

Aw, the new baby is adorable. What a blessing indeed.

I remember that song from the 60s. Heard it a million times back in the day.

Thanks for joining Awww Mondays. Most appreciated.

Have a fabulous day and week, my friend. Love you. ♥

      Jacqui,

Contemporary Christian mewsic has a peppier tone. It always appealed to me because of the rock spice turning songs of inspiration into something that spoke more purrsonally to me. I think it’s a wonderful ministry outreach.

Good set here, though I’m not much of a fan of Contemporary Christian. Glad to see that The Sweet won your BotB. They were a lot more active than anyone knew, because everything they did sounded like it was by a different band, I think.

  • DrillerAA

What a precious image. “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:14) Everyday is a good day to begin with a little praise, worship and thanksgiving. I have chosen to begin the Christmas season with a music marathon. Have a blessed day.

    Hi, Cathy!

Thank you for sharing a picture of your sweet little granddaughter Angelina Nicole. She is adorable! How proud you must be, dear friend! I hope you will keep the pictures coming.

In the set of Contemporary Christian artists you posted I found myself enjoying the ones with less “emo” in their vocals. They include Alaska CC musician and pastor Lincoln Brewster doing “For These Reasons,” English CC band Delirious? formerly known as The Cutting Edge Band performing “Thank You For Saving Me” and “Thank You Lord” by Paul Baloche of Maple Shade, a Jersey community just across the river from Philly.

I do indeed remember the bubble gum hit “Little Willy” by The Sweet. I have a post in the pipeline that will feature the best of the bubblegum and nursery rhyme recordings of the late 60s.

Thank you very much for your kindness and support during my bereavement absence. It’s good to be back with my blog friends. I am thankful to have you as one of them. I wish you a safe and happy week ahead, dear friend Cathy!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Myke,

It’s going to be a manic Monday for sure today. I have a lot of catching up to do in Blogosphere as well as tend to chores around the house. Thanks for making time boogie with me this morning very early. Now, it’s time to get this show on the road!

Time just keeps flying by for me as well. I was only planning on being gone for Thanksgiving from Wednesday afternoon until Friday morning at the latest. I didn’t make it home until late Saturday. I was having far too much fun spending time with my cousin. But at this rate, I better get started on my April posts or they won’t get done. One good thing that came out of this weekend is a potential business deal, and while that is exciting within itself, I am worried about getting lost in a time warp and somehow nothing getting done. I need to be a bit more disciplined in my time structures again.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Mary,

We had a good Thanksgiving, as well. The only way it would’ve been better is if DD#2 was there but she lives too far from home now. 🙁 Best of luck on the potential business proposition. I hope it goes well for you. I had quite a few posts done ahead but now time is catching up with my schedule and it’s time for me to whip up additional advanced posts. It’s so much easier to stay ahead of the game than to find myself deep in the middle of it. lol I just can’t believe this is the last week of November. The year is almost up! Thanks for boogieing with me this morning. Now, I’m off to see what fabulous tunes you’re sharing today! 😉
