Christmas Edition The Village #Brushstrokes

For months I’ve dabbled with my iPad Brushstrokes app re-inventing  photos I shared in previous years. I love this photo-editing program! It turns ordinary picture into masterpieces. I always fancied trying to paint but never got into that aspect of art except for painting designs on t-shirts or sweatshirts.

A week ago this past Monday, we got our first snowfall in Knoxville.  It was a wet, heavy snow, too.  I was surprised to see on Tuesday morning about an inch and a half of fluff caked on every tree branch and limb.  It didn’t stay around long. Later in the week, we went to the mountains and we shocked to see how much snow was left over. I used my iPhone 8 to capture the below pictures for your enjoyment. You can click on any of my photographs to enlarge for a better view. 😉

Last month, I mentioned that I did a DIY project for lavender soap.    The final product looks lovely and smells delightful! I haven’t actually tried washing with the soap, though.  I’m not much for scented soaps but I love the idea of it and love even more to make home-made gifts, so I plan to share with my girls. 🙂 Feel free to borrow from my idea below!

Join my #WildWednesdays linky party where just about anything goes! The concept for this mid-week blog hop was conceived as I found myself moving farther away from photography and more toward art. Of course, that’s not what this party is about. You’re invited to share anything – artwork, DIY projects, photos, music, musings, randomness, recipes, and more!

[tweetthis]#WildWednesdays the linky party where just about anything goes is now open. Promote your favorite post! #photography #music #musings #creativewriting #art[/tweetthis]

That wraps things up but hopefully if inspiration strikes then you might find me back here tomorrow with an art contribution with Thursday Art Date with Rain. Thanks for joining me today and may you have a blessed day! X💋X💋, Cathy

I love scented soap, as long as it’s not a strong odor. I bet lavender is perfect. The photos looks great with your app. Good job.

    Love,

The brushstrokes effect looks lovely on that photo.
The snow looks lovely too. We had some on Dartmoor close to us, about 3 inches but it was gone in a couple of days.

It’s been kind of cold here of late, but no snow in Los Angeles. Haven’t even seen snow on the mountains yet, but I’m sure it will be there soon.

I love the first photo, you did a beautiful job! I love your photos of your drive and the snow. I grew up where it snowed a lot but have been in Florida for over 30 years. I did get to see a dusting of snow last year when I went to see family. It wasn’t nearly as much though.

I hope you have a great weekend! Stay safe!

I wish I would have been with you on that drive. Beautiful snow.

    Love the village. Beautiful.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Love and hugs. ♥

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Wild and Almost Wordless Wednesday, dear friend!

It always amazes me how you are able to turn ordinary photos into impressionist paintings using your Brushstrokes app. Thanks for showing us what you were able to do with that pic taken at The Village. No snow yet in Central Florida 🙂 but I am as happy to see pictures of the white stuff in your area as I was to see the colorful fall leaves you showed a couple of months ago. As you know, Mrs. Shady and I were up in your region standing at those Overlooks in the Smokys in late August. I would love to experience those same areas now that they are coated with snow. I’ll bet you and DH found that cold air invigorating.

Mrs. S has been thinking about making soap and I will surely pass your recipe along to her. We both love lavender scent. The Christmas Snowing Village video is relaxing and inspiring. Isn’t it remarkable how a fresh snowfall covers dirt with a layer of purity, muffles harsh sounds and brings comforting quiet and beauty to a troubled land?

Thank you for this morning’s uplifting post, dear friend Cathy. Have a wonderful Wild and Almost Wordless Wednesday!
