Wild Wednesdays

Christmas Edition All American Christmas #Brushstrokes

I’m taking life easy as this year winds down.  I just want to enjoy the holiday season for a bit longer. December can feel hurried sometimes with everything going on and even though the pandemic still lingers it didn’t seem to have any effect on the busyness.  I enjoyed our two separate staycations and doing my usual things this month but I always hate when it comes to an end.

For the last Wednesday in 2020, I re-imagined another photograph from my archives. I love how the picture not only has a Christmasy but a patriotic feel with the American flag proudly displayed.

Yesterday, I mentioned we got snow on Christmas eve.  Santa must have ordered the snow to arrive over the city before he got here.  The big fluffy snowflakes transforming our world into a winter wonderland made the night magical until our electricity went out at 10pm, then it was time to go to bed. That has to be the earliest ever we’ve been in bed on Christmas eve.  We woke up to a white Christmas! Isn’t that cool?

Join my #WildWednesdays linky party where just about anything goes! The concept for this mid-week blog hop was conceived as I found myself moving farther away from photography and more toward art. Of course, that’s not what this party is about. You’re invited to share anything – artwork, DIY projects, photos, music, musings, randomness, recipes, and more!

[tweetthis]#WildWednesdays the linky party where just about anything goes is now open. Promote your favorite post! #photography #music #musings #creativewriting #art[/tweetthis]

That wraps things up but hopefully if inspiration strikes then you might find me back for  Thursday Art Date with Rain.   Thanks for joining me today and may you have a blessed day! X💋X💋, Cathy

Losing power sucks but, at least, it was at night. We also got the storm which arrived Christmas Eve when I celebrate. My hubby was overjoyed and so was I.

      Mimi,

Our electricity came back on around 1am. We were without power for three hours but it wasn’t bad since we were snuggled in bed asleep. 🙂 I worried that it might go off again due to melting and freezing but it didn’t even though our temps dipped into the teens at night. I think the cloudy skies might have helped. Yes a white is beautiful and cold but I’ll take it once a year as long as the power stays on and I don’t have to be out in it. lol

Awww I love the snow- my sweetie grumbled when we lived in the mountains as our driveway was steep and almost a 1/4 mile long! But now when we sometimes get snow it makes both of us happy! Cheers and have a Happier New Year!

      Kathe,

If we had a quarter mile long and steep drive way then I’d grumble, too. Our driveway isn’t long and it’s steep, not super steep like some, but just enough to cause a problem when there’s inclement weather. Thankfully, we don’t have to worry about the white stuff too often. The biggest problem for us is black ice. UGH, that’s awful stuff and a good way to kill oneself! If our drive is remotely slippery, we won’t go down it until the sun melts some of the mess away. Nothing is waiting in the mailbox is worth breaking a leg, an arm, or neck over.

Glad you had snow, but sorry you lost power. We had rain, but we were worried about power loss from high winds. XO

Thanks, Nicole! Brushstrokes is a cool app. Yep, it was rather nice to get a snowy Christmas. It used to be every year when we visited DH’s parents in southern West Virginia, we’d always have a white Christmas from a dusting to several inches. It was always such fun, too. I loved it as a kid but now I don’t think I’d really want to live somewhere where snow was regular thing in the cold months.

I love the photograph and especially old glory. Beautiful shot.

I’m so glad you woke up to snow. It’s beautiful.
