CAAC presents Robert Rudolph and the Family Band on Tuesday Tunesation

Good morning, kittens & dawgs! Tuesday Tunesation featured musician is new-to-me.  Looking for more artists with a bit of that old Motown style, I was introduced to Robert Rudolph and the Family Band (RRTFB). You know how you hear musicians say, I grew up in the church?  Well, this group actually did. They did not listen to any secular mewsic and didn’t even know it existed. They started off as a gospel band called Sacred Steel and Robert was out of his teens before being exposed to funk, rock, soul, jazz, and the whole band jam set. He blended these styles to form his own musical flare. Now, give a listen to RRTFB with their 2017 album, Got Soul!

I’m joining Les from Ink Interrupted for Tuesday Coffee Chat this week and this morning’s prompt: What is your favourite indulgence?

It really depends on my mood. I love chocolate, so it could be a good truffle. The best truffles I’ve found come from Godiva! Ice cream is another favorite. I think I can eat this every day, especially chocolate peanut butter or anything pertaining some form of chocolate. lol Turkey Hill All-Natural has the best Choc PB we’ve found and it’s so goood! I don’t know why more national brand ice cream manufacturers do not carry this flavor because it’s a huge home run at our house. Of course, I’ll never turn down a decadent chocolate cake. I have a fabulous triple chocolate cake recipe that I use to make DH’s bday cake and it’s so yummy!

That’s a wrap for this morning. I’m hopping over to Stacy’s for Random Tuesday Thoughts and you’re welcome to join me if you want. I hope you’ll hop & link up tomorrow for Wordless Wednesday.

I will be absent from blogging most of next week, except for Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me, while I finish getting my A2Z posts lined up for April and then to kick off the challenge with my first post the last Friday of the month. However,  I hope you’ll join me at midnight and link up with my mid-week meme not-so Wordless Wednesday and to learn who won the last round of BoTB!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

chocolate truffles – you said it!!! My faves are the Lindt ones and we have a factory outlet store nearby where you can get a whole assorted bag full and pay by the weight! I cannot go very often – ha! They also give you a free chocolate when you come in the door. I think that should become standard practice EVERY where, right? 🙂

      Les,

I like Lindt truffles, too. We usually buy the dark chocolate mint and the white chocolate mint truffles at Christmas. These are excellent! I like the sea salt caramel filled ones, too. Of course, I won’t turn any of them down. These are the best inexpensive store-bought truffles on the market. Every time we go to the mall, I have to go in Godiva to window shop. lol Sometimes I buy or DH buys for me but other times I do to help pass the craving. It’s funny how that helps. 🙂 I wish they gave free truffles with every visit! They do give away one a month if you’re part of the rewards club but I rarely take advantage of it.

Diana, Designated Survivor is a good new TV series. I should’ve seen Jack Bauer becoming president but who will protect him now? lol Maybe he multi-tasks as the President and a Secret Service Agent. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

    Good morning, Cathy!

I thoroughly enjoyed the mewsical selections by Robt. Randolph & the Family Band, yet another new-to-me artist that you have introduced. You can usually tell when an artist is steeped in the church because it is reflected in their soulful gospel-influenced vocal style. As I watched song #1, “Ain’t Nothing Wrong With That,” it occurred to me that if you kept the same sound but changed a few of the lyrics from secular to religious theme, dressed the gang in robes and placed them in a church setting, it would be easy to imagine them praising the lord during a church service mewsical interlude. “Got Soul,” the title track of the band’s new 2017 album, gets into a driving southern rock groove seemingly influenced by ZZ Top. Robert Randolph & the Family Band make great mewsic. Every song is refreshingly different and I appreciate the variety they offer.

My favorite flavor of ice cream (can you guess?) is coffee. 🙂

I hope things are looking up for your son and your family in general, dear friend. I am thinking about you and hope you enjoy the rest of your week. God bless!

      Tom,

I decided to listen to “Ain’t Nothing Wrong With That” while envisioning your suggestions. It must be too early for me to see it this morning and I haven’t finished even half of my cup of coffee yet. 🙂 I actually hear more of that gospel influence in track two, “Love Do What It Do” featuring Darius Rucker. I’m really digging this playlist the more I listen to it and may have to buy his album. Oh, I like coffee flavored ice cream, especially something like Jamoca Almond fudge. Baskin Robbins carries it and Blue Bell has something very similar. Both are totally awesome, too! Mmm, boy I could go for some of that right NOW! I’m feeling more optimistic today than I have in a week over DS’s dilemma. We’ll just have to wait to see how things play out in the next stage. Keep those prayers comin’, my friend. Prayers, support, and love of family and friends are helping me!
