Call Me Luciano

Good-day, kittens & dawgs! A good friend’s daughter published a delightful story and I bought a copy from iTunes a few months ago. Now, it’s no secret I’m easily distracted when it comes to reading anything longer than a blog post, but at some point I plan to review Call Me Luciano and while I haven’t finished this book I can tell this young author/illustrator is gifted. Her imagination shines through her words, pulling me deep in to the pages and if you have a young adult (including the young-at-heart) reader in your home, then this might be a good book to buy.

Curious? Good, here’s a teaser for you.

A lighthearted fantasy novel for Young-Adults… however old! Call Me Luciano follows the journey of Wilfred, heir to the Baron of Oselisle. When ordered to marry by his overbearing father, Wilfred finds himself accidentally transported to the fairest of them all. The fairest is delighted, he’s to busy being just to find the long-lost heir to the throne of Meloberg himself.

Wilfred knows nothing about questing? No problem. The fairest of them all stoops to injustice and sends his horse along. The problem there? Luciano declares himself the greatest voice in six centuries. Far be it from him to be either pleasant or helpful.

So begins the journey to find the lost Princess and rescue Meloberg from the tyrannical reign of the usurping King Verllin. The young man who can’t do anything learns how to take care of himself, fights bandits, rescues a fair maiden from death, evades the man who wants him dead, and most unexpectedly finds himself.

An entertaining, wholesome read, Call Me Luciano keeps people laughing to the last page!

You convinced me. Usually I am very tight fisted with my dollars as I am on a very limited budget. But after your convincing post, and reading a very good review on goodreads, I got up off of my wallet and purchased via smashwords. Looking forward to reading this.

Mary, I totally get being tight with the purse strings. We are watching every nickel spent with DH out of work. Are you interested in doing a review for Lauren & giving her a little blog love ? There’s no pressure. I just thought I’d ask & if you are then I can pass the word to Lauren. Have a good afternoon!

Les, Miss Lauren is a home-school graduate and if my memory serves me correctly, she is studying to be an Opera singer. In her real life, I know on their family farm there are horses, so I imagine this is where part of her inspiration comes from. I’m going to include an interview with the book review at some future date. This is a wholesome, fun story!

I tweeted the tweet. Went to her website and was going to leave an encouraging comment, but I didn’t see anyplace to leave a comment.. Anyway, I wish Lauren well.

Lee, thanks for letting me know. I’ll pass on the comment to Miss Lauren. Coincidentally, I got an email from her last night. She has a new book coming out at the end of the month and another in June or July. I’m really impressed with this young college student.

Liz, it’s a cute story thus far. I need to step away from the computer to spend more time reading Miss Lauren’s novel, so I can write a review. But, I’m still climbing out of the A2Z haze while playing catch up and do normal blogging. It’s maddening, but I’ll get things under control eventually.
