Monday's Music Moves Me

Buckle up, we’re reeving things up on the dance floor!

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Hello, y’all! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend or what’s left of it.  It sure does go by fast, doesn’t it?  Last Saturday, we spent the day in Nashville with DS and his fiancé.  We didn’t get to see everything we wanted nor did we take many pictures. Actually I think I was the only one who snapped a few shots.  I got this cool mural near Bridgestone Arena downtown.  Nashville had quite a few murals.  I can’t wait to go back to photograph more of the downtown area.

Home front news….we got our new freezer delivered and installed! Thank the good Lord above for small favors. Now I need to get it stocked.

Thanks for joining the Monday’s Music Moves Me crew and this month’s featured co-host. Buckle up, it’s time to reeve things up on the dance floor with this week’s theme, Cars & Racing.

The theme this week is CARS & RACING

Hit play to enjoy my 11-song playlist mixture of car and racing song titles with familiar and introductory tune picks.

Cars & Racing playlist tracks: 1. Cars ~Gary Numan 2. Racing On ~Silver Arrows 3. Drive My Car ~The Beatles 4. Long Black Road ~ELO 5. I’m In Love With My Car ~Queen 6. Talladega ~Eric Church 7. Drive ~The Cars 8. Fast Car ~Tracy Chapman 9. Five O’Clock 500 ~Alabama 10. Get Outta My Dreams Get Into My Car ~Billy Ocean 11. In My Car (I’ll Be The Driver) ~Shania Twain

This is a music linky party.  Your co-hostess are StacyAlana, and Me.   Every other week we have a suggested music theme (see weekly prompts here) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our music enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

I got a chance to check in with our darlin’ Marie.  I’m happy to say she not only sounds better but reports that she’s feeling better.  The recent procedures didn’t show any problems which is good and yet no clue what’s causing the issues. The doc wants to check her thyroid.  I’m not sure if it’s related to her current symptoms or something else.  While I had her on the phone, she said she’s locked out of email account and can’t get in.  She need to check with her provider to get that straightened out.  Another thing going on is her computer might have the same buggy as her old one. I suspect if that’s the case then it came over with the data migration.  Her new son-in-law is supposed to look at it on the next visit.  She sends her hellos to everyone! This is CAAC signing off,  have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

Hello Cathy, glad to join this week’s MMM prompt 🙂 That cat is hilarious, haha, I was wondering what he was up to!
Great choices of songs there, I love Cars by Gary Numan is a classic I love from 1981! Great to see the awesome mural at Nashville too.

That cat photo is hilarious, just love it! What a cool mural in Nashville. There is so much to see there. We didn’t have time to see much when we passed through.

Nice car set, and I got such a kick out of the racing cat. That mural was fantastic; one of the better ones I’ve seen. Good advice about how to properly use an apple, too! I picked “Drive” by the Cars as one of my songs for tomorrow, but you had several songs in here that I had never heard. Of those, I liked the Billy Ocean song the best. Happy, also, that Marie continues to be on the mend but too bad she continues with other issues to clutter up her life. Alana ramblinwitham

Love the cat driving that invisible race car. Made me smile.

Great on getting your new freezer. Always feels good to get things done. We just came back from our weekly shopping. Each time we buy meat it’s up about 35 dollars from the time before. Yikes.

Love the playlist. Lots of great sounds.

Love the apple a day one. Made me laugh out loud.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week filled with wonderful music. Love and hugs. ♥

I’m so glad Marie is beginning to feel better but it must be frustrating to not know the reason….I know it is. I love that little kitty who would be a speed demon if given the chance. I love the selection of cars/driving from the famous first one you chose to ELO whom I love. Shania is always fun to listen to. Hope you are having a wonderful day

      Birgit,

It’s never any fun when you’re not well and then on top of things not know what’s causing the problem. I hope she gets answers soon but I’m happy she’s feeling better. Shania is a favorite of mine. I love that she likes being a girl! 🙂

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Paw-some 4M Monday (back where it belongs on Sunday), dear friend! 🙂 I hope you and DH had a good week and a nice weekend so far.

I don’t think I wanna try smooching that kitty in the window. He’s too busy playing Invisible Race Car, and I’m afraid he’d give me a nasty scratchin’ if I interrupted him. Thanks for posting a pic from your day trip over to Nashville. I’d love to stroll around town examining those awesome murals. I’m very happy to learn that your freezer arrived AOK and you have it up and running. Now you can finally put that hassle behind you.

I enjoyed your block of car toons. Gary Numan’s “Cars” hit was the first song that came to mind when you revealed your 4M theme. I’m hearing the mystery band EBC Racing-Team for the first time. It immediately occurred to me that “Silver Arrows (Racing On)” has a sound reminiscent of Deep Purple. I launched an investigation and learned that the guitar playing member of EBC Racing-Team is Englishman J.R. Blackmore, son of former Deep Purple and Rainbow guitar legend Ritchie Blackmore. EBC Racing-Team was a project assembled by U.S. rock and blues singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and music producer Tony Carey. The band was formed to celebrate the return of the famous Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows to the Formula One World Championship in 2010. “Drive My Car” is one of my favorite Beatles songs and ideal for this car tunes list. I love actress Amy Adams and have been meaning to watch her 2013 black comedy crime film American Hustle. The soundtrack song “Long Back Road” reminded me to search for that movie. Queen’s “I’m In Love With My Car” is a cool song that I’m hearing for the first time. I enjoyed all the vintage film footage in the B-roll cutaways. I enjoyed the down home vocals and wailing guitars on “Talladega.” “Drive” by The Cars is probably the best possible song for this theme, and that iconic mewsic video was played heavily on the MTV station where I worked at the time. The troubled girl in the vid was played by 18-year-old model and actress Paulina Porizkova who later married Ric Ocasek. The Billy Ocean song and vid were also huge on my MTV station, requested by viewers over and over again for months. I also enjoyed the cute song by Shania Twain to finish your set.

I’m very happy to learn the favorable news about Marie and continue to wish her well as she takes baby steps on the road to wellness. The “apple a day” meme is a hoot. Thank you very much for the morning smiles and mewsic, dear friend Cathy, and have a wonderful week ahead!

      Tom,

This week flew by! I suspect this is how the whole summer, maybe the rest of the year will go. I’m glad you enjoyed this week’s music selection, some new but mostly old tunes. I appreciate you including me in your rounds, my friend. Have a boogietastic weekend!
