Blessings and Honor + #BoTB results

Good morning, kittens & dawgs! It’s Thanksgiving week. If you’re like me then you have a lot to do which means we have little time to hang around Blogosphere. This week’s Thanksgiving celebration we have an extra reason to be thankful. In case you missed the mews on Friday, DH got a job offer and he accepted. I thought it only fitting to use songs not only representing my present mood but my overall appreciation for this special time of year set aside to give thanks and so my theme this week is Blessings and Honor!

How have you been blessed recently or over the past year? A couple of years ago, I wrote 10 Thanksgiving Blessings; many of those blessings still apply today. What are you looking forward to most about Thanksgiving? Can you think of any other songs falling in line with today’s theme?

[tweetthis]Join me today to count your blessings through #mewsic! #contemporary #Christian #music[/tweetthis]

In my last BoTB round, I asked you to vote on your favorite Victory Song between Gonna Fly Now and Chariots of Fire. The predominant leader and consequently the winner in this showdown, as if this is any surprise to y’all, is…. Gonna Fly Now with a 8 to 3 victory!

I knew almost from the start that Gonna Fly Now (Rocky theme song) got my vote but I didn’t want to influence any of my lovelies. I invite you to check with Stephen to see how the other battles went down!

Now it’s time for me to fly. Thank you for including me in your Monday and I’ll do my level best to respond and make return visits. 😉 I’m linking with the ? party hosted by the Monday’s Music Moves Me crew and you’re welcome to come with and don’t forget to hop back for not-so Wordless Wednesday!

Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to this. So much going on for me this month. A family member engaged, a friend getting married, a family member moving, just tons and tons of stuff. It’s taken it’s toll on me, but I’m trying not to abandon the blogsphere completely. I’ll be going to the new BOTB as soon as I’m done commenting here.
Had a feeling Rocky Theme was going to win. Considering I’ve recently been trying to lose weight, I keep thinking of the song to get me motivated.
    Congratz on the hubby job.

I’m glad Rocky won the battle. 🙂 That’s wonderful about your DH and the new job. Now you can REALLY celebrate! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

    Hi, Cathy!

I missed your latest band battle but I am thankful I didn’t miss this post. The mewsic of Matt Redman, PC&D and AS&D touched my heart and set the mood for a joyous Thanksgiving.

I have much for which to be thankful this year, especially in the last few days, and you know what I mean by that. If I may borrow a quote from a wise, kind, generous and compassionate friend:

“Finally, in closing let me say there is one more blessing I’d like to count and that’s the blessing of friends. Old friends and new, friends like you make my day a little more special with a kind act of your visit and comment. Thank you for making my life sweeter!”

Thank you very much for this inspiring post, dear friend Cathy!

Tom, you’re so sweet. Friendships new or old are always blessings. I thank God for giving bringing each person into my life, which naturally includes you. I’m glad you enjoyed today’s inspired mewsic Blessings and Honor. This is precisely how I feel with DH getting a new job. God is so good! My prayer is for God’s blessings to be with you and Mrs. Shady. Have a good week, my friend!

I knew Rocky would win…oh well. Thanksgiving was never this huge, from what I remember, in the US as it is the last few years. It seems to surpass Christmas which I can’t understand but that doesn’t mean the idea is not profound. We celebrated back in October and I am thankful for my friends. I am also thankful for my hubby and my small family. We could be rich and travel anywhere we want and see all the sights but, in the end, if one doesn’t have love around us, the rest would feel mighty empty. Happy Thanksgiving week!

Birgit, Thanksgiving gets the short end of the stick, in my opinion. I know when I was a kid I really didn’t get it but as I got older I came to appreciate this holiday more. We definitely need a day set aside to show our thanksgiving. In a world gone mad, we need to pause our crazy lives and say thank you to the Lord for all we have. Your sentiment about having the love of others is quite right. Our lives would be meaningless without it. Thank you, my friend, for the reminder!
