Tickle Me Tuesdays

AGT, a funny story, and more Tuesday fun

How’s life treating y’all? We’re catching up with the championship season of the current AGT. A couple of weeks back, they brought back Michael Grimm, winner from season 5.   He’s a talented young man with so much potential. I was disappointed that the judges did not vote to put him through to the next round since he wasn’t one of the superfans’ pan. I’m not sure why  I was not called to be a ‘superfan’. *roll eyes* They can’t be all that super since they didn’t pick Grimm. Just saying is all..moving on to other things….

Okay, I have a funny story to share with you. Awhile back my childhood friend left a message on Facebook after browsing through some of my sketches suggesting that I draw Thor. I replied that I might just do that but didn’t follow through immediately.

It’s been about six months since I my friend challenged me to draw Thor and still hadn’t stepped up to the plate. With that I pulled out my pad and pencil. In a few hours I had a nice looking pencil drawing of the Marvel comic hero.  It wasn’t purrfect but I figured I’d run with and send this off to her with an apology for not getting to her sooner.

A few minutes later I get reply that reads, ‘Thor is my cat.’ I had to laugh and so did she which actually was just what she was needing at the time because a good friend of hers was expecting to soon pass. We never know why we do the things we do but God does and He put that on my heart to take care of at that precise moment knowing I’d draw the wrong Thor.

I’d buy if it makes my hair look that good!
I’m not going to correct a man with a hammer, are you?

It’s time to grab a cup of coffee and you’re invited to tag along as I head over to visit Sandee for some Happy Tuesdays giggles at Comedy-Plus, then I’ll check out Random Tuesday Thoughts with Stacy Uncorked, and finishing things up I hope to find inspiration in this week’s word prompt found at Eugi’s Causerie for the wannabe poet buried inside.   That’s a wrap for now but come back tomorrow for Wild Wednesdays where just about anything goes! 😉  X💋X💋, Cathy

I love that you were able to give laughs to your friend – so sorry her friend passed away. And I really cracked up at the Thor cat at the end!! You are genius! 🙂

      John,

I hadn’t thought of it that way but regardless, the goof proved some smiles for her at a time she needed to smile. Her friend did pass away the following day. I need to send her the Thor the Cat picture. 🙂

She totally should have said “my cat, Thor” if she wanted you not to misunderstand. I mean, if she had said draw “Steve”, you’d have asked for more information, but “Thor” makes you think god (what is he, Viking? Nordic? I can never keep those straight).

      Liz,

It was an easy mistake. No worries here. I loved the goof and it gave me something new to sketch. I actually enjoyed to drawing the super hero. It’s nice seeing what I’m somewhat capable of doing. 🙂 Now to send her the sketch of Thor the Cat. lol

We usually watch AGT on YouTube for some reason. That was funny about Thor and I enjoyed the Thor funnies too. Hey, if Thor hit himself on his hand with that hammer would he have a Thor Thumb?

      Robin,

I’m not much into the comic book heroes. We’ve seen a few of them and while they are awesome, action flicks I find them to be a bit tiring. Who knows, I might get on a binge where I can’t get enough of this film genre but not right now.

Hi Cathy; I love Michael Grimm and was SO pissed he got voted off. 😮 What is wrong with those Superfans?? GRRR! 😡 You should have had a vote. Love the Thor sketch, especially the coloured version and the jokes. 😀 (Wouldn’t be as funny, using a cat! 😆) I admire your stamina in doing so much in the Blogosphere all at once. Talk about multitasking! 💪 Enjoy your day.

      Debbie,

The Superfans have made some bad calls this time and in the previous championship show. I honestly believe they generally pick the contestant with this biggest sob story to give their votes to. The judges aren’t much better in their decisions, either. Those with the real talent I just pray they get the attention needed to super charge their careers. ‘Talent’ is in the shows title, so why isn’t that a criteria honored? smack forehead I couldn’t near what I do in Blogosphere had I not work my posts ahead. This keeps me from going completely crazy. 🙂

I agree completely, Cathy! They have put some questionable acts through and those with real talent were shut out. 🙁 I wrote a lot of posts in advance during the holidays and am trying to do more, now.It definitely helps, but I still get bogged down. 😛 You are acing it! 🙂

          Debbie,

I try to have a month’s worth of posts scheduled for my regular hops. However, sometimes it doesn’t work out like I want. This month is one of those times, I’m facing it without having completed any of my Thursday art sketches but I’m not going to sweat it. The last thing I want is blogging and art to feel like work. That steals the fun of what I’m doing quickly. I appreciate your confidence in me, though. That sure makes me feel good. 😘

Funny about Thor. I laughed out loud. Thanks for that.

I used to love to watch AGT when I had television. I miss that show.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Love and hugs. ♥

      Sandee,

I’m happy to get your laughing this morning. 🙂 You don’t have a TV at all? You can stream AGT online if you’re interested. We use our streaming devices to watch AGT at our convenience. I hate being forced to watch broadcast programming, so this works out beautifully for us.
