Random Tuesday Thoughts

A message to the Patriot Day bomber(s) & some stupid people in Jefferson City, TN

I know many of you, including myself have a bit of a brain fog with this latest act of violence perpetrated on American soil. Terrorism is terrorism make not mistake – foreign or domestic. I want to extend my prayers to those injured and to the families of those who have died. As well, I pray for God’s speed to be with the authorities in discovering, locating, and punishing the guilty.

To the evil ones who did this senseless and shameless act…

We. Are. A. Strong. Nation.

You won’t keep us down.

Your politics, religious beliefs, and hatred will be not tolerated.

Do I hate you? No. I am angry!

Americans will unite to help the authorities in whatever way possible to see that YOU are caught. That is if you’re not killed in the pursuit of your capture, but if you manage to be placed into custody, then you will stand trial and will be found guilty.

Only God can have mercy on your soul. As for your earthly body, that can be snuffed out just as easily as those lives you took. I am a firm believer in capital punishment “an eye for an eye” and YOU deserve nothing less than this!

Last week, a friend’s daughter fell victim to what the police suspect as college student shenanigans in the Jefferson City, Tennessee area. Rebekah Frith and her friend were minding their own business, as they chatted and walked down the sidewalk when someone hurled a soda can at Rebekah beaming her head from a moving vehicle. At first, she didn’t know what happened, but she heard one of the passengers exclaim, “Haha dude, you got her!”

God must have had His hands upon this darling child. She sustained a concussion, but this could have gone terribly wrong. No hospitalization needed but left the teen to deal with headaches, a sore noggin, and panic attacks. The local media jumped on this story learning of Miss Frith’s attack and featured her on the evening news.

As it says in the Good Book, my grandma would say, “Idle hands are the devil’s workshop…” Let’s make sure these hands are idle no more. No free passes to a cushy jail cell, instead put those hands to good use, say as in busting rock in a chain gang six days a week with a shotgun pointed at them.

A small reward was posted for any information leading to the capture and conviction of these evil-doers. My prayer is that someone saw something and able to help bring these wicked people to justice.

Today’s Chats on a farmhouse porch questions are:
  1. From Suzanne at p.s. Annie!: Are you part of the back to nature/ecological group or are you more of the mindset of “I’ll do what I want and everything will work out in the end”? I’ definitely do not fall into nature/ecological movement, but I will do what I can.
  2. From Stacey at Happy Bride to be: What’s a favorite dinner dish to make? You know, I don’t know if I have a favorite or not. I just look for dinners that are convenient and good to have as leftovers.
  3. From Melanie at Melanie at A Year of Jubilee Reviews: What animals have you seen give live birth? The best I can remember, I don’t think I have ever seen an animal give birth. This seems so odd to me, too, because growing up there were plenty of cats and dogs around me not to mention my grandparents had livestock. Okay, does a chicken hatching count? I did see this.
  4. From Anne at Homeschool on the Croft: If you had the opportunity to teach something, what would you teach? At this stage in the game, if I were to teach anything it would be all in fun such as cooking or crafting. I don’t consider myself a pro in either of these, so I don’t know how valuable my knowledge would be to another person.
  5. From Madonna at Butterfly Acres: What did you love most about school? Other than friends and recess? Yeah, I thought you would say that. I think the thing I enjoyed the most in school was band class, home economics, art, and history.

Les at Time Out For Mom wants to know:

What were your favorite board games growing up?

Here are my top five picks:

Life
Monopoly
Twister
Battleship
Operation

On a lighter note, I will leave you with this: What Lutherans do with their beer bottles?
