Week one of the 10th anniversary A to Z Challenge went well. Despite having my posts done ahead, I found it difficult some days to keep on top of things, especially while maintaining my mewsic hops and house hunting. I will survive, though. In case you missed anything this week, just look under Latest Mews in my side menu and you’ll find the past ten posts. ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞
Before I get into bloggy things this morning, let me give y’all an update on our sweet dance partner & BoTBer, Michele from Angels Bark. I reached out to her since I knew she was set to have shoulder surgery. The good mews is she’s nearly 5-weeks post-op and making good progress. However, the days leading up to her procedure were a bit wild, to say the least – getting her mother moved into her place, dealing with movers from hell, and taking a hard tumble resulting in cut fingers, injured her knee, and bruised her cheek when she struck chest of draws in the fall. Oh, how I cringed reading her accounts! Thankfully, she’s still in one piece even if she’s still limping along. She’s excited to get back to blogging life which includes being next month’s 4M honorary co-host. Just continue to keep this gal in your prayers and let’s hope she doesn’t have any more accidents.
Last week, I asked y’all to give your opinion on which artist you liked the best in ‘Part of Your World’ #BoTB Showdown between Chely Wright and Carly Rae Jepsen. The battle didn’t go too well for one of these ladies. Do you care to guess which one? Yep, that’s right Chely clobbered Carly 14 to 3.
To learn how other Battle of the Bands progressed or to join the fun next time on the 15th, then I invite you to check in with the BoTB list manager, Stephen.

Next up is ‘your choice mewsic week‘ on the 4M dance floor. In keeping with my monthly A2Z theme, The Little Mermaid Art Sketch series, I stumbled on a beautiful mermaid mewsic playlist on YT by Brandon Fetcher that I enjoyed. Just hit play while you browse through this past week’s art sketches, please join my email service to get notification of my newest illustration publication. 😉
Co-hostess, Colette (JamericaSpice) remains on semi-hiatus but sometimes she plays along and will add her direct link on those days. Now it’s your turn to join the 4M gang on the dance floor!
🎶 This is a mewsic linky party, all other posts are subjected for removal or labeled – NO MUSIC! 🎶

In closing, I’d like to say today would’ve have been my FIL’s 96th birthday. You’ll be forever missed and loved by each of us. You were a wonderful dad to your three boys and two daughters-in-law and grandpa of three, Austin! I hope you’re having the best birthday celebration ever!
Keep those tunes playing, your body swaying, and I’ll be boogieing over to see you soon. I hope you’ll join me tomorrow for the A2Z letter ‘G’ in my The Little Mermaid Art Sketch series! 😉

Cathy, thanks so much for the update on Michele! So glad she’s doing better. Good luck on your house hunting – it can be simultaneously exciting and stressful. 🙂
The mermaid song is beautiful – and such a perfect accompaniment to your theme for A-Z! 🙂 Thanks so much for the relaxing dance! 😉 Hope you’re having a great weekend!
I love the mermaid music! It’s all pretty dreamy, but especially the percussion. Thanks for sharing!
Now I’m going to have to go figure out which post I missed, because I did NOT know y’all were househunting! But how exciting! Are you going to be nearer your children? Gahhh, I guess I need to just go find out on my own. Best of luck with the hunt!
Kim,
I have only mentioned house hunting in passing but I’ve talked about it off and on for years on my blog. It’s now becoming more of reality as DH & I have put the squeeze on turning our dreams into real life! Two of our kids live in town. We’re staying in the area but it’s possible that our move could take us to a nearby town. Our youngest daughter lives in Maine and we don’t want to make a permanent move that far north. We aren’t wintering-type people. The cold weather doesn’t suit us well.
I think the Mermaid music is very relaxing, I can listen to it in a row…and together with that little one even longer 😀 Healing Pawkisses for your furriend💗Pawkisses for a wonderful day and thank you for the music. we had a great time🐾😽💞
I’m glad you enjoyed the Mermaid mewsic. Thanks for visiting, my dear!
CATHY!!! ~
You and I both had major blowouts in this round of BOTB. Oh, well, it happens. In fact, it’s been happening to me a lot lately.
I can’t believe I called you “Debbie” in an earlier comment. However, yes, you do look like you could be a Debbie to me. In my world, Debbies (or Debbys) and Cathys are blonde. Lisas are usually blonde, too. Emilys, Marys, and Robertas are brunette. Amys can go either way.
The number 3 is yellow. 4 is red. 5 is blue, and so is 10. 6 is green. 8 is pink, and 888 is Jesus Christ.
OK, my stream o’ consciousness comment has come to an end. (Overall, the comment was purple. But I’m sure you already saw that. Ha!-Ha!)

STMcC Presents BATTLE OF THE BANDS
Stephen,
Yep, it was a blow-out! Don’t worry about calling me, Debbie. I’ll answer to just about anything. I’m not a blonde but I do have sandy brown hair. However, when I was little my hair was golden blonde. Gee, you have a system there doncha with names, colors, and numbers. I never think about such things. I guess I have a rather uncomplicated brain. But, I have to ask are you really synesthesia or are you just pulling my leg? That’s okay if you’re just having fun with me because Lord knows DH gets his kicks out of playing tricks on me. It’s really quite fascinating that there are people who can see colors for numbers or shapes or what have ya. Thanks for visiting and leaving me to puzzle over your comment. 😉
CATHY ~
Yeah, I really do see some numbers as colors. I’m not sure if the numbers and colors always remain consistent, but I’m pretty sure 4 is ALWAYS red. Ha!-Ha!

As usual, so much to ooh, ahh, and aww over in your posts!
Mimi,
Well…thanks! 🙂
That’s a cute little mouse.
https://twodevoncats.blogspot.com
A mouse? I thought it was gerbil! Oh well, a rodent is a rodent, right? Thanks for dancing with me!
Thanks for the update on Angels Bark… I’ve been slacking I need to get caught up with all our buddies. Hmmm wonder how Stacy’s doin’? Oh well, love your mermaid’s music… how appropriate girlfriend. Well making this short & sweet cuz it’s hitting 74 today & mama wants to get out there and walk around the park hopefully. Wish me luck & if Charlie behaves we may take him with. Luv ya girlfriend! Have a great day & happy birthday to your FIL for sure. My daughter’s birthday would’ve been tomorrow. My goodness she would’ve been 42, but she’ll always be my baby after only passing of 4 months. 🙁
Marie,
I’m happy to give a report on Michele. Hopefully, she’ll feel more like herself in no time. WOW, it’s warm in your neck of the woods. It’s been rainy all day but the temps aren’t bad. I’m ready for the sun to show, though. Have a boogietastic evening, dearie!
Those are some beautiful songs. Very nice.
Patrick,
Thanks, I’m glad you found my 4M mewsic. Have a boogietastic week, my friend!
I’m starting to get into that sort of ambient music (not sure if it’s chill, lounge, vaporware or what it’s being called) more lately. It’s nice and relaxing…
John,
Your guess is good as mine. I don’t know what you call this kind of mewsic but it sure is pretty and that why I decided to go with it. Thanks for boogieing by.
Aww, that is the cutest pic! Love the mewsic, have a great week!
Thanks for boogieing over for peek at my artwork and to check out my mewsic.
How cool you were able to find music on go with your A to Z theme. We never saw The Little Mermaid but it sure had a lot of characters. We knew Ariel cos that’s always a crossword puzzle answer.
Cathy,
The movie is good for all ages. If you get a chance to watch it, then I highly recommend it. 🙂 Thanks for boogieing with me.
Glad about the result as I always love BOTB and learn so much. This mermaid music is so relaxing I fell asleep just now and woke up with my mouth open…hahahaaa.
Birgit,
Did you fall asleep listening to my mermaid mewsic? It is soothing!
That is one sweet little rodent for Awww Mondays!
Yep, he’s adorable!
I really like Carly Rae Jepsen! She is a cool musician! She was pretty popular back in 2012 here in Japan when she release her debut single.
That mermaid music is very relaxing. I really like mermaids but I am not a big fan of “The Little Mermaid”. I did recently have a mermaid dream too. Recently, I been having vivid dreams with lots of detail. Maybe I should start writing a novel.
Amy,
Use those dreams as cornerstones to a good novel. DD#2 was a vivid dreamer and would often turn them into stories. She said, her characters wouldn’t leave her until wrote about them. I don’t know if she writes much these days with her busy schedule as an adult. I ought to ask. Thanks for dancing with me today!
Chely Wright is new to me but I love the song, the voice and the arrangement. I won’t be commenting much this week as there is a road trip in our itinerary. I’ll post more about it later on my blog. Have a blessed day.
Driller,
Thanks for taking the time to visit with your busy plans this week. No worries here, I more than understand. Enjoy your trip!
Glad Michele is doing well. Great idea for your theme this week. 🙂
Ellen,
Thanks and I’m happy to have you dance with me today!
And clobber her she did. I’m happy with the end result.
I’ve already linked you up to Awww Mondays. What a little cutie pie.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday my friend. Love and hugs. ♥
Sandee,
Yep, Carly took a nasty whipping to Chely in this round. Poor dear! Thanks for joining me!
Thank you for reaching out to Michelle – I am shy aout that kind of thing. I can feel her pain from that fall, having seen what my now deceased mil went through with all her falls (starting when she was in her 60’s) but…sitting here in my backyard, breezes blowing, birds singing and the sun disppearing in the 70 plus degree sky, Mermaid Music was just perfect to set the mood. Thanks again for helping to keep themusic flowing; a lot of us are grateful for having you in our blogging lives.
Alana,
I’m not a shy person when it comes to people I know and have no trouble reaching out to them. Purrsonally, I think it’s pawesome when someone thinks about me when I’m going through something and others feel the same, so never be shy with people you if you want to know what’s going on in someone’s life. They’ll either answer or not, if they choose not to then just chalk up to they weren’t ready to share yet. They will appreciate the thoughts. 🙂 The weather was definitely warm and breezy here this weekend. This morning, we’re under heavy rain. We noticed DD#2 who lives in Maine is facing heavy snow today followed by ice this afternoon. DH said, “Do you wanna move to Sabattus?” I rolled my eyes and said sarcastically, “Oh yeah, sure!” then laughed. That kind of weather and me aren’t good mixes. I hope you’re keeping warm, as I’m sure you’re getting some of that nasty stuff, too. Thanks for boogieing by!
Mermaid mewsic – who would’ve thought! Keep it the good stuff, Cathy. I am sharing your sharing on LinkyIn! 🙂
Eugenia,
Thanks for sharing me on LinkyIn. I’m not familiar with this one, I don’t believe.
Mermaid music–who knew?
Jacqui,
You can find just about any kind of mewsic to suit whatever the occasion.
You always keep those tunes playing in our heads!
Brian,
Is that a good thing or bad?
Hi, Cathy!
Happy Sunday, dear friend! Thanks for the update on One-L Michele. As I mentioned, it has been a few weeks since I least corresponded with her. I am grateful that you share the latest news on her recovery. She’s had a tough go of it for a long time now, and I look forward to her triumphant return to blogging. No more spills for her or for you, my dear!
Regarding the outcome of your BOTB, I am not surprised. I noticed on day one that I was the only person voting for Carly Jepsen. Most people don’t seem to appreciate Carly’s “little girl voice” but I sure do. I think she’s great, and I’m glad my vote helped prevent a shutout. That seems to be my role in most of your band battles. 🙂 Aren’t you going to tell us how you voted?
I enjoyed the Beautiful Mermaid Mewsic. As I listened, I could easily imagine gliding through the water in The Little Mermaid’s domain brought to life in your A to Z Art Sketch Series.
Happy 96th birthday in heaven to your father-in-law Austin. He must have been a great man for you to remember him so fondly and include him in today’s post.
Have a happy Sunday and a wonderful week, dear friend Cathy!
Tom,
I didn’t evenly match Carly against Chely. I have no issues with small voices and was surprised that she didn’t do better in this battle. I appreciate your voting for her but it’s too bad more didn’t get on board. The Mermaid mewsic is very soothing, isn’t it? I enjoyed listening to it and it worked out purrfectly for ‘your choice song picks’ week.
My late FIL was a remarkable man. He treated me like a daughter, as did my late MIL. They were great people. You know I really goofed with this post. I don’t know what went wrong but I had some elements in this meant for March. One of them being Austin’s birthday. His 96th birthday was March 7th, not this past Sunday. I think I have too many irons in the fire and didn’t realize my mistake until now. smack forehead Have a fabulous week & thanks for stopping by, my friend1
