Monday's Music Moves Me

10 July song titles by various artists

This photograph does not belong to me. I downloaded in from a Google search. I failed to note the site where it might have originally come from but I went back and located the possible owner of the picture on Flickr. This is definitely an Awww Mondays moment!

This week’s Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me theme is your choice song picks. I like using our 4M off-weeks to discover new mewsic. To get things rolling in the right direction I come up with a theme to use for my song picks and today I’m sharing July song titles.  I’m fairly confident that none of these have popped up on my radar, so it’ll be fun to see if you know any of them. Hit play to enjoy!

I’ve not heard any of these songs but a couple of the artists are familiar. Your Brushstrokes creation is stellar! Have a great day!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Eugenia,

I’m having fun play with Brushstrokes with my archived photos. It’s a fabulous way to breathe new life into an old photograph or a not-so-old picture. 🙂

  • angelswhisper2011

Nice playlist, CK, we didn’t know any of the songs, except of Uriah Heep’s. That Aww picture is so cute and that quote is very true😸Pawkisses for a Happy Tuesday and week ahead🐾😽💞

WOW! I’m sorry I forgot to mention… I didn’t know John Travolta’s wife died. Didn’t hear anything about her dying from breast cancer? I mean dam, girl. My mom had breast cancer in 1961 and they took her whole breast & a muscle out from under her arm, but she lived to a ripe age of 84. WOW! THANKS FOR THE NEWS. LUV YA GIRLFRIEND! HUGS

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Marie,

I don’t know the details of Kelly’s breast cancer but it happens. I’d say they just didn’t catch it soon enough. It used to be doctors looked for a family history in their patients but now they’ve learned that’s not necessarily an indicator. You don’t have to have a family history of the disease, it can strike anyone.

Well holy moly look at all those J’s… well, today I have a visitor staying with me for a couple of days. It’s my grandson’s girlfriend who her parents are both gone & she’s has a pretty tough time of it and has nowhere to stay because her sister is being…… well, let’s just say totally mean. Poor thing. She’s looking for an apartment and well, I thought I’d give her a change of scenery for a few days. Anyway, let’s get down to these tunes… LET’S DANCE! WOO HOO! Okay, Hey, Noah Cyrus is she the sister of you know who? hmmm Dam, can’t remember her name… hahaha Anyway, she sure threw her life away didn’t she. Anyway, this young lady has a pretty voice, and she is pretty too. Hope she chooses a better lifestyle. Well, thanks for the introduction to all these new songs! Very cool! Thanks for the spin.. girlfriend! BIG HUGS

      Marie,

Aren’t you a sweetie to let your grandson’s girlfriend stay with you for a few days. I hope she finds an apartment soon. This is a difficult time to be without a home. You’re thinking of Miley, Noah’s big sis. I’m not sure how things are going with Miley these days but I hope she has settled down and owned her adult responsibilities. The sad truth the entertainment industry is a conducive environment for anyone with the wrong mental frame work. I’m not sure what her problem was or is but Alcohol and chemical abuse seems to a common pitfall for many to fall into which is horribly sad. No one ever sets out to addicted to these substances and yet it happens. Why can’t being oneself ever be enough for the masses? Noah had a chance to see big sister’s life played out and hopefully she learned a few things so to not make the same or similar mistakes. Perhaps some of the horrible publicity Miley has gotten was due to bad decisions on her manager’s part and she just did what she was told thinking it would make her a bigger star. Thanks for swinging by to boogie with me, girlfriend!

I didn’t know there were so many songs about July. Very nice brushstroke creation. XO

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Brian,

I’m happy that you enjoyed the playlist featuring Uriah Heep. I think I must be the only person who didn’t know Uriah. I had to do a little digging on him again and that’s when I noticed most of his hit songs are from the early 70s. I was in my pre-teen and teen years so his style wasn’t matched to my listening preferences and that’s why he slipped under my radar all of these years. I actually thought the group was a newer band. lol

  • Debbie D.

Hi Cathy! Such a sweet image for AWW Mondays. ❤ We have foxes roaming the streets and living in the parks. Thanks for the playlist of July songs. Noah has a good voice, like her big sister. Uriah Heep is a favourite band, so I know (and love) July Morning. The others were new to me. Your Yacht Club image is beautiful, as always. Wishing you a good week!

    • Cathy Kennedy

Hey stranger! How’s your summer going? Are you working your way back into blogging? I never left completely and when I’m not boogieing on the dance floor then I’m preparing future posts. I’ve been quite busy, too. Thanks for stopping by to dance with me and I hope you enjoyed the mewsic!

      • Debbie D.

This pandemic has severely disrupted things, but, I’m taking one day at a time. We are breaking free and going on a little road trip next week. That should help! 🙂 How are you handling things in your neck of the woods? Yes, I’m slowly stepping back into the Blogosphere, on a limited basis. Mostly updating and republishing older material. Happy Blogging!

        • Cathy Kennedy

          Debbie,

We aren’t ready for a road trip just yet. We will put the vacation we wanted to take this year on hold until next so things can settle down all the more. Our vacations are few and when we do go, then I want to make sure we can take advantage of everything to its fullest. Life has calmed down for us. DH continues to work from home. It looks like he’ll be doing this until at least after Labor Day. I’m enjoying having him home. 🙂 I think I’ll try to get back into the full swing of blogging in September. I’ve been preparing future posts mostly while on hiatus, playing with archived photos, doodling, cooking, and generally finding ways to relax. Your plans to move back into blogging using updated content is a good idea. I’ll look forward to reading your posts. 🙂

That is a cute picture for sure. I listened to some before the “unavailable ” word came up. I am not one for the heavy metal type but the others I could listen to, sounded really nice. hope you are staying safe

  • Sandee

I agree with Driller. That Awww Monday is the best I’ve seen too. Adorable.

Love the video. Not heard of her before.

Love the edit of the yacht club. Wow, Reminds me of Monet a bit.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥

  • DrillerAA

The fox pup will most likely be the best Aww…some Monday image I will see today. The playlist is equally awesome. Noah Cyrus is a very talented young lady and everything about her video is perfectly executed. Ahh…the Acid Rock, Flower Power days of Uriah Heep. Thanks for sharing some truly great music today. Stay safe, stay healthy and have a blessed week.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Driller,

Thanks for visiting. I’m sorry for the late response. The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree in Cyrus family with at least two talented sisters. I don’t know if any of the other kid are mewsicians and I believe Billy Ray has five children. I’ll have to double this now. Who knows maybe I’ll discover more mewsical talent.

  • Thomas Anderson

    Hi, Cathy!

Sorry I’m a little late this morning. I needed to get ready so that I can leave soon for an early doctor appointment. I usually greet you with “Happy” Awww-some 4M Monday” but, after what happened to your family recently, “happy” might not be the most appropriate word to use. I do hope things are getting a little better on your side of the screen, dear friend.

That little fox (or puppy?) stole my heart. It’s the ideal choice for an Awww Mondays moment!

I enjoyed your play list of July songs. Where have I been for the last 18 years? Until now I didn’t even know that Billy Ray Cyrus has a daughter and Miley has a sister. Noah Cyrus is an exiting performer. In addition to liking her singing style, I applaud her for her mental health and anti-suicide philanthropy and for being an animal rights activist. It was great to hear a track by Uriah Heep, the English rock band that was starting to catch on in America during my last year of college and had a string of successful albums stateside through the mid 70s. I also very much enjoyed the folk/alternative country style of Portland, Oregon, singer/songwriter Laura Veirs. The Japanese artist Lindberg also has a sound I appreciate as does English singer Sarah Brightman doing Winter In July, released on the U.S. version of her 2000 album La Luna. You and I tune-in to female vocalists like these, Cathy.

I love your latest Brushstrokes recreation, that turned a picture into a painting. Please stay well and keep your spirits up this week, dear friend Cathy. I’m thinking about you and your family.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Tom,

I owe everyone last week a huge apologize for not responding but it was just one of those weeks where I was in a bit of funk. Hopefully this week will be better. 🙂 I appreciate your visit and am always happy to read that you enjoy my mewsic selection. Don’t worry I didn’t know that Miley had a younger sister, either. Mental health is an issue of any age and it’s sad when people feel like they can’t go on. Yes sir, you and I seem to be on the same page when it comes to female vocalists. It’s nice when friends share the same likes. Many thanks for your kind words about my Brushstrokes creation. Now, I’m off to catch up. Have a good day, my friend!
