Top July Commenters

Good-morning, kittens and dawgs! Last month, I didn’t get a chance to say thanks to my readers who made the Top Commenter List, but I won’t repeat that mistake this time.

Thank You strawberry basket kittens

Steve from bethere2day is an English chap who lives across the Atlantic in London. His personal blog is chock full of every day snippets – humor, randomness, rants, and music.  Steve is a great feller who really knows music. I love that he features a mixture of oldies and modern tunes on his site every Monday. Thank you for being so kind to comment here and for promoting my blog posts on Twitter.

Suzanne of McClendon Villa stands strong in her faith and loyal in her marriage to David for 30+ years. She’s a southern gal like me. That makes her pretty special. *wink* She now lives in the southwest. I first met on her on her other blog, P.S. Annie, and if my memory serves me, it was photography that brought us together. She’s a caring, supportive person and our friendship blossoms every time we connect. Thank you, Suzanne for being so compassionate and prayerful. The Bible tells us there is strength in numbers, so you reinforce God’s word in my life.

Colette of JAmericanSpice is my Jamaican sweetheart and sister-in-Christ. We first met through Monday’s Music Moves Me and I just love her to pieces! Colette is a SAHM mom of two kids. Her little niche in Blogosphere isn’t genre specific, so you expect to find a variety things going on at her place and if you’re looking for a friend then you count on Colette. Thank you for being a soul-sister. Life sometimes puts bad things on our plate, but we know we’re never alone.

Last, but not least to make the short list is Tom aka Mr. Shady, author of Shady Dell Music and Memories. You may recall Tom on my May list and I’m sure it won’t be the last time you see his name pop up. This guy is such a gentleman whose very, very kind. I can learn much from the thoughtfulness and care in his words left here and hopefully I can adopt my comment giving to be more like his. Thank you for sharing a ray of sunshine with your lovely thoughts with each visit. Your sincerity is genuine and warm.  God bless you!

Now, I invite insist, really for you to show some love to these fine, fine bloggers who are my friends. Right now, hop over to their place to leave a few way-to-gos and, if you can share the tweet below. You’re such a peach! ?

Before I go, let me say thank you to everyone who lands on my Home page. The stats tell the tale. Y’all make blogging worth doing and I consider myself blessed to have such a lovely circle of friends near and far away. Let’s continue to build on what we started years or days ago. Ah, yeah don’t forget to join me tomorrow for Not-So-Wordless Wednesday!

BOTB newPS: One more thing, Summer traffic is cutting into Battle of the Bands (BoTB) competitions and I invite you to cast your vote in my latest edition, here. There is no wrong way to vote, except to not vote at all! 😉

May Top Commenters

Good-day, kittens and dawgs! I wanted to show my appreciation by featuring each month my top commenters, let me start by saying,

My top two commenters for May were…

Mr. Shady as he calls himself of Shady Dell Music & Memories shares amazing music (old and new) and stories of life spent at the Shady Dell, a popular hangout for youngsters in the 50s. You rock my comment box with your polite and considerate thoughts, which always make me smile. Thank you for being a you!

Les from Ink Interrupted is an incredible mom of three who is always on the go. That’s a bit of redundant statement I realize because when is a mom not on the go? She’s a gifted writer, crafter extraordinaire, and camera ninja. I think you’re cool, wise, encouraging, and pretty darn wonderful. Your comments inspire and lift me. Thanks for being a sweetie!

You can show some blog love by telling others about my top meowers for May!

Comments show you care enough to let others know that you stopped by their niche in Blogosphere. I love getting ’em! So, if you wanna put a smile on someone’s face, including mine, today, then don’t forget to leave your paw prints in comments! Have a terrific Thursday afternoon! 😉

A Walk Through ETN Veterans Memorial

As I walked through the East Tennessee Veterans Memorial in downtown Knoxville last Friday, all I could think about is our freedom.  Freedom is anything, but free. It comes with a very steep price.  The thousands of lives lost etched in granite before my eyes was only a sample of this nation’s rich sacrifice over the years to keep her people free.  Remember… Freedom, keep walkin’ keep on your toes and don’t you stop talkin’ about freedom…

If we stop talkin’ about freedom then we may just lose it. God bless the men and women who serve us so well!

Angela from Mommy Time Out and I would like to thank you for joining us for another edition of  Wayback Wednesdays. To participate in this blog hop you don’t have to follow a bunch of rules. It’s simple! Just link up your blog, twitter, or Facebook below (only one please).

Leave a comment letting us know you’re now our newest follower and we’ll pop over to your lovely blog. I’m looking forward to sharing memories with you!

Wordless Wednesday

Thank-you, McGuffy Ann!

Earlier in the week, my lovely friend McGuffy Ann of  McGuffy’s Reader. honored me with Fabulous Blog Ribbon.

Allow me the pleasure of introducing you to a fellow blogger. I met McGuffy through a common meme we play on Wednesdays called  Chats on the farmhouse porch hosted by Patrice.

Some things I know about McGuffy is, she is a serious book-worm and uses her blog to feature reviews. If you’re a reading enthusiast, then you’ll want to visit McGuffy’s Reader for enticing new library selections.

Another thing about McGuffy is she LOVES animals! She’s not only the mother of three fur-babies (cats), but she’s also been involved in animal rescue over the years. In fact, she’s rescued two of her cats when they were kittens.  If you have family members who happen to be of the non-human form, then you’ll bond with her.

Finally, McGuffy is a nature lover and gentle soul, but more simply put she’s a friend. Perhaps, you’ll wanna call her friend, too. ^.^

In accepting my new award, I first need…

1. Post the Rules.

2. Name five of your most fabulous moments, either in real life or in the blogosphere.

3. Name five things you love.

4. Name five things you hate.

5. Pass the ribbon on to five other bloggers
My most fabulous moments are:
  • Marrying my high school sweetheart & best friend and having three wonderful children with him definitely ranks amongst my top fabulous moments in life.
  • Being able to stay in East Tennessee, after we thought for certain we would have to move in 2000 because of my DH’s job situation.
  • Having one of my children stories published.
  • Graduating each of our children from our home-school (2006, 2008, & 2012)
  • Last, but certainly not least paying off our house!

I love:

  • My family – husband, children, parents, siblings, … and friends: old & new, near & far, blogger or non-blogger I love you all!
  • I love living in East Tennessee – not too far north or south, just right!
  • Activities – physical and metal. Keeping both fit is a huge priority for me. We only have one life, gotta make the most of it!
  • Creating – cooking, rubber stamp art, photography,…which goes without saying I love to blog my favorite creative outlet.
  •  Lastly, early mornings. My time to do some of my favorite things in total quietness.
I hate:
  • Dieting, but I’m on a perpetual diet. Bah-hum-bug!
  • Liberal politicians stealing our money!
  • Getting older! I’m fighting it every step of the way.
  • When my favorite things disappear from stores and I’m forced to start all over again with finding a new favorite.
  •  Extreme weather!
I proudly pass the
to these fine women!
  • Les @ Time Out For Mom has the uncanny ability to use her witty experiences of everyday life as SAHM in fun, interesting posts. You’re gonna love her, I know. I do!
  • Jenny Matlock …off my tangent… who’s flair for writing is obviously expressed with great personality with every word penned, high-tech style.
  • For the gal who makes Monday’s totally rock for me, head conductor of the Love Train – Monday’s Music Moves Me, Marie @ XmasDolly.
  •  Meet a little sweetie-pie named Kayla from The Eclectic Element. She is an amazingly talented and makes lovely handcrafted jewelry.
  • A nice woman I met through Chats on the farmhouse porch is Bee’s 31 Gifts. She has another blog, I like visiting called: Mamaw’s Place. There are two special reasons why I’m fond of this lady. One, she lives right here in East Tennessee – we’re practically neighbors and two, she grew up in the same state as I did!
Ladies, you’re under no obligation to participate, do as you wish and enjoy the honor! *wink-wink*
Thank-you, McGuffy Ann for this passing this to me!

This Monday and everyday I am thankful for this wonderful world.

I know that I’m blessed.

And, I’m thankful to God for every thing He has given me.

This is a season of thanksgiving – a quiet time of reflection for those who helped me to see that Jesus is the light.

Also, this is time to remember everyone you love, family and friends. I’d like to say,

Thanks for listening to the expressions of my heart. Sometimes, it’s okay to soak in the music and allow it to move your spirit, instead of your toes.
What songs says thanks to you?

Thank-you Blogger!

Blogger’s screw up last Thursday wasn’t as bad as I thought. “Come again?” you say.  It’s true!  Maybe this is a total fluke.  Allow me to explain.  I was working on today’s post.  Like clockwork, I had to break away from what little creative energy I have at a quarter after 5am to tend to something like wake up my husband.  Yep, I’m his alarm clock during the week.

After yesterday’s hardship (both physically and financially) at the dentist, I knew he’d need an extra few minutes to sleep. You know, alarm clocks have the snooze function, right?  I act in the same capacity, too, when I give him those extra moments of rest.

Anywho, I returned to my computer, clicked on ‘Edit Post’ in drafts and like magic. Wha-lah! There was my Alphabe-Thursday D post from last Thursday.  WOW! Were my eyes playing tricks? It was early, you know.  Nope, it’s true!  I was totally elated to stumble upon such a pleasant early morning find.

Thank-you, Blogger for retrieving my post!!!

Now, I’m dying to know…were you this lucky? Did you accidentally find your lost Thursday’s posts in ‘drafts’, like I did?

Oopsie, I meant to publish this morning post after hubs got off to work, but he wasn’t feeling so hot and decided to take the day off. Thus, I climbed back into bed for a few hours of precious sleep. =D
