My December #BOTB results

Hello, Kittens and dawgs!  Yesterday DH and I spent the whole day in the mountains. We ventured to a few of our favorite western North Carolina mountain communities – Bryson City and Dillsboro and on our way home we stopped in Pigeon Forge to see the lights at The Island (picture above is a tiny sample).  I will share more pictures either for Skywatch Friday or next week’s edition of Wordless Wednesday or maybe both times. I’ll just keep you guessing so you’ll have to keep a close tab on my site. 😀 Yes, I’m sneaking like that.  Now on to why you’re really here and that’s to learn the outcome of My December #BoTB showdown.

In this round, I pitted Josh Groban against Scala & Kolacny Brothers covering Linkin’ Parks My December.  The battle tipped heavily to one side and if you’ve followed comments then you know already who the winner is.  I preferred Josh Groban’s cover just like nearly everyone else giving him a decisive victory of 11 to 2!

To learn how other BoTBs turned out, I invite you to visit the official manager of BoTB, Stephen for the update list of players.

I hope you’ll join tomorrow for Friday Sillies and other Friday fun stuff.  This is Curious as a Cathy signing off with the sound of Christmas with Josh Groban.

Have a songtastic day!

  1. I have the idea of living in either North or South Carolina. I like the beaches.
I missed the BOTB but Josh is pretty good.

    1. Colette, your dream is to live along the Carolina coast? I’m not much of a beach person. I like the ocean and it’s really nice to see but I prefer the mountains! Thanks for dropping in, sweetie!

  2. CATHY, I actually had a pretty close Battle this time, but like Debbie said, overall, this seemed to be “The Round Of Blowouts”. Oh well. They’re gonna happen from time to time.

  3. Lopsided battles seem to be the trend this time around. Oh well, let’s see what happens next time. Love those Christmas lights! 🙂 I’ll be sharing some as well in the days to come.

  4. Like my Battle, yours was definitely lopsided. But it was a good one and a worthy offering for the Season.

Glad to hear that Pigeon Forge is still there and in the spirit of Christmas. Your day trip to the mountains sounds wonderful.

    1. Lee, Pigeon Forge looked undisturbed but it was dark. I don’t think the fire got close to the main drag. Gatlinburg is expected to open to the public tomorrow. I’m sure a lot of curious folks will check out this foothills community, too. It’s going to be pretty cold, so I’m happy to stay indoors where it’s warm. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Hi, Cathy!

I am very surprised by this outcome and sorry that your ears didn’t match mine. I expected Scala & Kolacny Brothers to gather a lot more votes and possibly take the contest. For my money, if you’ve got a Belgian women’s choir, why settle for less? 🙂 I suppose you can thank John H. and me for saving a shutout. At any rate it was an enjoyable band battle and I thank you for the entertainment.

Enjoy your day and I’ll see you tamale, dear friend!

    1. Tom, we all can’t be on the same side mewsic wise. It’s not that I don’t like Scala & Kolacny (the Belgian women choir definitely is nice), it’s just Groban appealed to me more. Thanks for checking back, my friend!
