Monday's Music Moves Me

Enjoy the mewsic of #RevolutionSaints this Sunday! #MondaysMusicMovesMe

It’s the weekend. I’m MIA in Blogosphere but that doesn’t stop me with scheduling this invite to all to come hit the dance floor on Monday’s Music Mewsic Moves Me with my lovely cohorts in crime…I mean co-hostess – Marie, Stacy, Alana, Colette, & this month’s honorary co-host, Michele from Angels Bark.

This week’s theme is “your choice song picks” which means anything goes! Slip your blue suede shoes or hit the hop in socks, if you have tunes to share then let them spin on the turntable cause we’re ready to boogie with you! 😉

To put you in the party mood, I’m sharing a new discovery thanks to YT’s suggestions of an American supergroup of former heavy rockers – Jack Blades, Deen Castronovo, & Doug Aldrich. I recognized the names barely from exposure to some of your alls mewsical taste over the years but I know they’ll mean more to those who listen to this genre than to me.  I’m impressed with the tracks I heard and in my humble opinion can mop the floor clean of today’s mewsicians with their talent.  Crank up the volume to enjoy the sound Revolution Saints!

You can add your mewsical URL (non-music post are subject to immediate removal or labeled – NO MUSIC) below now and snag the link code to add directly to your post!.

I cherish your thoughts but please don’t feel like you need to leave a comment. After all, it’s Sunday. Just enjoy the blessings of simply relaxing a bit while listening to the mewsic.  I’ll see you first thing tomorrow morning. Have a songsational Sunday!

X💋X💋, Cathy

Even if some of today’s musicians have similar talent to artists of the past, I don’t think writers and producers are interested in intricate vocal harmonies or instrumental play. I was listening to a song today by Spanky & Our Gang and the complex vocals and harmonies were amazing. Listen to the vocals on the Beach Boys, God Only Knows…nobody does that kind of vocal arrangements anymore. From the psychedelic bands of the 60’s the hair bands of the 80’s there were some insanely talented musicians and instrumental bridge was nearly as important as any part of the song. Well played set today.

      Driller,

You’re probably right about writers/producers not being interested. There’s a steady decline in all people’s judgment for what’s good and what’s not. The mewsic from yesterday had beautiful arrangements and the vocals regardless of the genre often far superior. Thanks for visiting.

Interesting sound. I agree with John in that they definitely sound quite a bit like Journey. I just finished putting together my ‘Free Choice’ post. It will go live at 12am Eastern. I think I’ve just worked out another new theme for my Free Choice weeks. You will have to stop by to tell me what you think.

      Mary,

Oh yes, you can definitely hear the Journey influence in the first song. Thanks for joining me yesterday. My actual 4M post is live now!

      John,

I’m discovering the classic 70s sounds I listened to more than I realized. My memory seems to recall the more tame, puppy dog love, and bubblegum pop tunes but there are a number of bands with a heavier rock base that entertained me in all those yesteryears ago. Thanks for visiting & enjoying the mewsic with me, my friend!

Dance, dance, dance on! I catch myself in the kitchen stopping what I am doing and dancing (radio in there). When my grandson (18) was a babe, he used to hang with me in the kitchen, we would dance while I cooked. Picked him up in my arms and we just let go. I am a 70’s music girl. My teen yrs were during the 70’s and to me that was the best.

      Pamela,

I love mewsic! It’s great therapy for the soul and gets the body movin’ while I do things throughout the house. Thanks for enjoying the tunes with me.

Interesting combination of artists in this group, which is new to me. “I Wouldn’t Change a Thing” is definitely Journey-influenced. My favorite of the set was “Take You Down”, perhaps as I am a Night Ranger fan. I wasn’t that fond of “Here Forever” and I can’t put my finger on why. However, thank you for the introduction. The website (I took a quick look) is interesting – Italy! Have a great week, Cathy.

      Alana,

Thanks for sharing in the new song discoveries. It amazes me to find these supergroups and even more amazing is how much I enjoy the sound. Some of the artists’ band associations I kept thinking that’s something I wouldn’t like but sampling these songs are causing to re-evaluate my opinion. I believe I’d enjoy those old bands a whole lot more today than yesterday.

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy 4M Monday on Sunday, dear friend! I am thrilled with this introduction of the rock super group Revolution Saints. They are new to my ears and my ears thank you. I am familiar with some of the bands these guys came from including Night Ranger, Damn Yankees, Journey, Whitesnake and Dio. Several of those bands came to the studio of the MTV style station where I worked in the 80s to be interviewed by the veejay who hosted the hard rock/heavy metal show segment. On the first song, “I Wouldn’t Change A Thing,” Revolution Saints captures the sound of Journey. On the second song, “Take You Down,” they remind me of Night Ranger and Dio. On the third, I think they sound like Whitesnake. The three songs offered here are first rate and the singing and musicianship is top notch. Revolution Saints bring back the exciting sound of mewsic as it was in the 80s and early 90s when power metal ruled. These guys are sensational, and the songs are first rate. They truly are a “super group.” Thank you again for turning me on to them.

Have a super Sunday and a wonderful week ahead, dear friend Cathy!
