Battle of the Bands

Writing’s on the Wall BOTB winner revealed

I’m going to have to rethink scheduling anything on the weekends.  It’s way too difficult to tend to these posts. One, I’m MIA in Blogosphere and two I’m slammed to play catch up on Mondays.  What is a girl to do?

I want to thank everyone who showed up for my first battle of the year.  This was a tight showdown. To recap the votes tallied.

Jackie got votes from Tom, Robin, Mike, and Birgit

Amanda got votes from Stephen, Mary, Diedre, Mimi, Eugenia, and John

Congratulations goes to Amanda Cole on  her 6 to 4 victory in the Writing’s on the Wall BOTB showdown!

My next James Bond Theme Song series BOTB is slated for Wednesday, February 1st and I hope you can join the fun.  That’s a wrap for today.  Up next, you’ll find me boogieing on Monday’s Music Moves Me dance floor with this week’s theme inspired song picks. Come join the party! X💋X💋, Cathy

    CAThy!

That was an excellent Battle, as testified by the very close outcome. Of the BOTB Results I’ve seen so far, yours was the only one that a person could call a “competition”.

I look forward to your next Battle. And I’m seriously thinking about taking your suggestion to heart and watching ‘Dr. NO’. Ordinarily, ‘Action’ movies are not my mugga beer, but I figger I oughta give Bond at least one chance to surprise me. After all, there are exceptions to nearly every rule, and perhaps Bond – James Bond – is that one exception to my ‘Action’ movies apathy.

    Stay Wonderful!

Brian is a clever kitty. lol The battle and reveal days always fall a week apart. But, I think next time a battle falls on the weekend I’ll hold off to share the results on a Monday. That definitely will help. Good suggestion! Thanks for visiting, my friend!

    Hi, Cathy!

My winning streak has come to an end here at CAAC, dear friend. 🙂 I followed the voting for the first couple of days and saw that you had another close contest in the making. Make no mistake, I love soulful singers, and Amanda Cole certainly has soul credentials, but I went with Jackie because I appreciated the purity, clarity and simplicity of her vocal treatment minus the emotive “glottal fry” I detected in Amanda’s voice. However, I will say that I very much enjoyed the Amanda Cole performance you posted this morning. She has talent.

Yessum, with the April A to Z Challenge rapidly approaching and the theme reveal coming even sooner, you have some soul searching to do. As a blogger, you should never feel pressured or obligated. You give me that same advice all the time. So, as you decide how often to post in 2023 and how many hops and challenges to join, just make sure it is fun, as blogging should be, and not a grind that robs you of time with family and friends as well as peaceful “me time.”

I hope you and DH are having a nice weekend and I look forward to your song set for 4M Monday. I will also have a new post starting tomorrow. Have a wonderful week ahead, dear friend Cathy!

      Tom,

It’s interesting that you mentioned the April A to Z Challenge. I’ve been giving this much thought lately and right now I’m not sure what direction I want to go with it this year. If I manage to pull it off, it may be my last year to do it. Of course, I’ve said that, thought it, but never do it. lol

Thanks for checking out the results. I’m heading your way to check out your latest post, my friend!
