Good-morning, my lovelies! I’m gonna do my best to get back into my blogging routine but I have to be honest with you, I more than likely will struggle. *sigh* Everything sorta is suffering by our sudden staycation plans. The only Christmas candy I’ve made so far is Chocolate Covered Cherries (download a copy of my recipe at the bottom of post) which I managed to get started before Thanksgiving and finished up while on vacation but this week I hope to get a few more goodies made. I’m in the midst of working on our LA’s Christmas shirt which is a slow process of applying layers of paint then allowing enough dry time to not mess up the design. I’m anxious to see the final product. I plan to do more on her shirt and maybe I’ll make maple nut fudge or stollen today. I’m undecided but know this, I will make both before the holidays are over.
It’s now time to reveal how last week’s Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) battle of the sexes between the Good Lovelies and Human Nature. In the beginning it was looking like there was going to be a landslide victory for the ladies but before the voting period ended the boys put up a glorious fight. Unfortunately they never tied up with or got ahead of the gals taking the backseat to them in this round with Good Lovelies winning tally 8 to 5!
Let’s give a round of applauds to the Good Lovelies as we celebrate the holiday cheer with more Christmas mewsic from their Under the Mistletoe album.
For mewsic enthusiasts, I encourage you to visit Stephen for a complete list of BoTBers for more possible result postings and if you missed your chance to vote, don’t worry my next battle showdown is set for Tuesday, Dec. 15th, so mark your calendar to play along. 😉
Grab your coffee cup and follow me over to a few more fun parties going on with Stacy for Random Tuesday Thoughts and Happy Tuesday with Sandee. You’re invited to join me tomorrow for my #WildWednesdays linky party where just about anything goes! X💋X💋, Cathy

Chocolate covered cherries! Sigh, drool, yum yum. 😘
Eugenia,
CCC have been a favorite Christmas goodie for me for years! I remember my grandparents would get me a box of Brach’s sometimes when I was a little girl. That was a huge treat to have my own box of chocolate covered cherries. 🙂
😉
Good for the Good Lovlies. Now pass me some of those chocolate covered cherries. They sound delectable.

Lee,
This is as close…. 🍒… as I can come to passing chocolate covered cherries to you. lol The recipe is simple and not at all hard to make, just requires a time. The recipe makes about 90-100 CCC. I try to do a bottle of cherries at a time so to not exhaust myself which helps a lot.
Tell Maxine my calendar is still on the side of the fridge, right where it belongs.
Mimi,
I have a calendar on the side of my freezer to keep me on track but I also have reminders on my computer & mobile devices.
oh yum chocolate covered cheeries! Great recipe and thanks for the Maxine cartoon…she’s terrific!
Thanks, Kathe! The recipe is simple but requires time and then patience to wait for the finished product.
I am glad you are still writing regardless of the year and showcasing your artwork. This is the year when we need to see and read about nice things. I believe I voted for the guys but these gals are good. I love calendars and always need at least 4 because I love them so, I don’t buy cute kittens or muscle men..blechh. I try to find artistic calendars with some beautiful pictures.
Birgit,
I couldn’t agree more. We need fun posts to enrich our days especially during this pandemic. I try to not let this dark cloud shadow my days. I know we’ll get through this mess eventually. Although it’s hard on us now, I can’t imagine the difficulties those dealt with a 100 years ago. Communication was slow unlike today. At least we’re quickly informed about what’s happening in our world.
Great battle of the bands. I love it when there is a war over which one is the best.
Chocolate covered cherries. My mother loved them. Fond memory.
Love Maxine. She’s snarky and I like that.
I have trouble blogging sometimes too, but I just keep doing it. Mine doesn’t require much thought though.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Love and hugs. ♥
Sandee,
Everyone struggles to blog during the holiday season. I try to not stress and just enjoy it when I can. It took me years to figure this out, but I finally got the hang of it. Maxine is snarky and loads of fun!
Wonderful post. Aaawww the boys came in second. My mom’s favorite candy, chocolate covered cherries. I wish I had thought of making them instead of buying them. She would have loved that. I don’t do phone so no apps for me. I have a calendar hanging on the wall and I write in all of my appts. Have a great day today.
Nicole,
I haven’t bought chocolate covered cherries in years since I learned how to make them which in my opinion and the opinion of all who tried them are far better. It makes the holidays extra special anytime you have home-made goodies to share.
Maxine is so funny and we remember calendars too!
Brian,
I’m pretty sure most of my readers remember old fashion calendars and probably still use them. 🙂
Hi, Cathy!
Happy Tickle Me Tuesday and BOTB results day, dear friend!
For the second day in a row, I am running behind. My stepson is ramping my computer and has installed a raspberry pi. It’s Greek to me and I am learning how to use it even as he continues to tweak the new system.
Ha! That’s a good one about a broken drum being a Christmas gift that can’t be beat. Thanks for reporting the final tally and declaring a winner in your latest band battle. I love the close harmony of those Good Lovelies gals. I voted for them and I’m happy to see they prevailed. I find it fascinating that the large block of late voters in your contests always seem to go against my vote and take the race in the other direction. Now I know how half the country feels. 🙂
I often wonder how many people bother to buy and hang up a real paper calendar in recent years. With nostalgic artwork or pictures of cute animals printed on them, they brighten many a day. I hope they never go out of style and off the market. Mrs. Shady is getting ready to bake cookies, cakes and pies for the holidays. I will make sure to show her your recipe for chocolate covered cherries. Yummy yummy yummy!
Have a blessed day, dear friend Cathy!
Tom,
I prefer blueberry to raspberry personally but since that’s all you got then you make the most of it, right? 😀 I haven’t heard of raspberry pi which isn’t new to me because technology is fast changing but I I did DuckGo it and found out it’s a chip that speeds your computer up in many ways basically. Does that sound about right? The one thing about using Apple computers is I don’t have near the problem knock on wood as my old Dell desktop which is or was a very good system when I configured it. It still works or it did, I can’t really say since it’s been more than a year since we fired it up for updates or anything. Anyway, doing anything new to a computer there is always a learning curve, sometimes it feels like it’s harder to grasp the new changes. Best of luck to you during the transition and hopefully things will be smooth sailing again.
I hope Mrs. Shady likes the chocolate covered cherries recipe. It’s simple but it does require a bit of time. I’ve been making these just about every since DD#1 arrival. A good friend from church shared her recipe and gave me hands on training on Christmas. The rest is history as they say, my friend! 😉
Your pick won this time. The ladies came out fierce in this battle but as you pointed out the second half of voters went with the guys giving the gals a run. Perhaps if Internet traffic wasn’t sluggish possibly could’ve won this showdown.
I haven’t bought a calendar in a few years but I do print a basic monthly calendar pages off to create my own. It does the job that I need. I place a copy on the side of my freezer for a quick reference and another I use to schedule out my blog posts which I heavily mark up. Appointment reminders I place on my computer calendar which then pushes the new events to all my mobile devices. I make sure notifications is set so I receive a reminder of those important dates.
