It’s the luck of the Irish that this girl is on the dance floor this morning and a special news flash about my #AtoZChallenge theme

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Welcome to Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me! Marie from Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty is this month’s honorary co-hostess. Her second theme for March is in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.  She asked that we pick songs to salute Ireland and to commemorate this fun day. Are you wearing green? If not consider yourself pinched. 😉

My Lucky playlist includes two new-to-me songs # 2 and #3.

  1. Art Mooney, “I’M LOOKING OVER A FOUR LEAF CLOVER”
  2. Alison Krauss & Union Station, “THE LUCKY ONE”
  3. Emerson, Lake & Palmer, “LUCKY MAN”
  4. Kiss, ‘HARD LUCK WOMAN’
  5. Jason Mraz featuring Colbie Caillat, “LUCKY”

DISCLOSURE…this is a mewsic linky party, which means all participates are sharing songs that one can listen to from YouTube or Vimeo and a not a post about mewsic or mewsicians.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

[tweetthis]Hit the #MondaysMusicMovesMe dance floor with me! @xmasdolly [/tweetthis]

Before I wrap things up let me bring a few things to  your attention. First off, earlier this morning, I shared my mid-month BoTB and you’re invited to vote for your favorite cover artist. Next thing I want to share with you, mostly newbies here today, my A to Z Challenge theme for April.  In case you haven’t read the mews, I’m attempting to illustrate vintage pinup girls inspired from famous artists such as Gil Elvgren and perhaps including other influencing sources that capture my eye. I plan to round out each of my daily posts with a song spawn from my daily art exhibit. Here’s a sneak peek of one of my designs that I turned into my A2Z post button.

I’m unsure at this point if I’ll be able to keep up my normal blogging schedule, so don’t worry if you don’t see my routine posts show up. Just know I’m happily sketching.  Have a boogietastic week!

  1. Awwww…such cute kitties. And lucky songs, a nice take on the theme. I hope you find your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, since you featured a couple of old faves of mine, “Lucky Man” and “Hard Luck Woman”. I’m excited about the pinup theme, but I have to tell you truthfully, now I am going to have not “I’m Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover” but “I’m Looking over My Dead Dog Rover” as an earworm. Aaargh…….

  2. Oh these kitties are kute:) I am looking forward to your A to Z and can’t wait to see the pin-ups. I love the music you chose for today and can’t help but think of some Celtic bands or something Irish like the Irish Rovers

  3. First of all, I guess I mad some people upset with me by having the wrong subject up for today. 🙁 I tried to make amends, but nary a comment did I get. Oh well, you can please some of the people some of the time blah blah blah… Oh well, moving on love your tunes, but the second one is my favorite. Too cute. Love your theme from A to Z and the button you made for your theme is WONDERFUL! LUV IT! hmmm April huh.. well I guess I should pick a theme asap & sign up. Great job today girlfriend. And HAPPY ST. PATTY’S DAY!

    1. Marie,

I stopped by your place today and left a comment, didn’t it come through? Oh drats, I may have used the wrong sign-in! I wish I knew why a few WP sites aren’t being kind to me. It has to be something simple. Maybe that’s what happened to others who stopped by and weren’t aware their comments just disappear. I’m heading to bed for now but I’ll be over in the morning.

  4. I’m planning on playing along with A2Z again this year. Hopefully will get both blogs involved. I didn’t do a theme reveal post – mostly because I’ve been so busy lately. But my Jingle Jangle Jungle will be an interactive theme and I’m thinking Literary Gold will be more from my TBR list – not 100% sure about that yet, but time will tell.

  5. Easter kitties. So adorable.

Love the video. I remember that tune.

    Love your A2Z graphic. Excellent.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥

  6. Good picks to celebrate “the luck o’ the Irish.” I remember hearing a story about “I’m Looking Over A Four-Leaf Clover”: there was a radio station that played it for the first time, and people kept calling and asking to hear it, so finally they just played it over and over all day. It’s one of those songs that just makes everyone happy.

Good luck with your A to Z project. Alberto Vargas would be proud…

    1. John,

Ahhh, that’s so sweet. I like to think Alberto Vargas, as well as other famous pin-up artists, at the very least be flattered that I’m trying to copy his work. 🙂

  7. Cute coloured kitties! 🙂 Thanks for adding “Lucky Man” to your playlist; it’s one of my all-time favourites. 💗 Love your A to Z Badge and theme! 👌 I’m planning on taking April off, but will definitely check in, here and there. Have a good week, Cathy. That kindness quote is so timely right now.

    1. Debbie,

A blogging break will be nice. I hope you get a chance to stop by when time permits but foremost enjoy your time away from Blogosphere. 😉 Be well, my friend.

  8. Hi, Cathy!

I enjoyed your set of songs with the theme “luck of the Irish.” I was delighted to find that you included two of my favorites, “Lucky Man” by EL&P and “Hard Luck Woman” by Kiss. I own most everything put out by Kiss including their 1976 album Rock and Roll Over. “Hard Luck Woman,” a song from that album, has some interesting pieces of trivia associated with it. Kisser Paul Stanley is a big fan of Rod Stewart, and Paul originally penned the song for Rod to record. However, since Kiss drummer Peter Criss had just scored a smash hit for the band as lead singer on their single “Beth,” Paul decided to keep the song for Kiss and had Peter record it. With Peter’s gravel voice on lead vocal the song sounds a lot like Rod Stewart’s early hits “Maggie May” and “You Wear It Well.” However the actual inspiration was “Brandy,” the hit single by the band Looking Glass. Kiss gained a #15 charting hit with “Hard Luck Woman.”

I’m delighted that you made your A to Z theme official. It coincides with my use of one of Gil Elvgren’s most popular pinups at the top of my new post this morning. I can’t wait to see your artistic renderings next month.

I need to run. I have a busy day ahead helping a family member with transportation. Have a safe and happy day, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

Thanks for joining me on the dance floor this morning and I apologize for the difficulties you had leaving a comment earlier but we got it fixed now. I’m delighted you enjoyed my playlist today and as always I love reading and learning from your factoids on my songs/artists featured. Oh you have some Gil Elvgren eye candy waiting for me on your site, you say? I’m on my way now! Thanks for stopping by, my friend!

    1. Virginia,

I’m glad you stopped by to learn what I’ll be doing this year for the A2Z Challenge. I’ll be sure to look for your post next smokin’ hot posts next month. 🙂

  9. Ha. This was confusing (because I’m used to seeing Link-up parties at the bottom of posts and yours is in the middle). I had to click several times and then finally scrolled down. Doh!

Anyhow, visiting from A-Z, my fellow “Art Creations” A-Zer.
I’m doing less sexy back ends — the back ends of trucks (again):

    Happy A-Z!
    And, cute kitties!

  10. Ahh…Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Needless to say, I was a fan back in the day. Thanks for the memory and the kind words expressed on my post this morning.

    1. Driller,

I’m discovering and rediscovering new artists/tunes all the time. For a better part of my life most of the tunes familiar to me I had no idea who did them and sometimes I never caught the song title. Thanks for coming over this morning to sample my playlist. Have a boogietastic day, my friend!

    1. Brian,

I didn’t know the artist by name but I certainly recognized his voice when I heard “I’m Looking Over A Four-Clever”. 🙂 Thanks for boogieing with me today!

  11. Those colored kittens are adorable. The kindness quote is good for right now when everyone seems to be thinking of themselves with the whole virus/survival thing.
