Thank you for including me in your Monday, kittens & dawgs! ? It’s great to be back as co-host of the best dance party in Blogosphere with the “Monday’s Music Moves Me” gals! Thank you, XmasDolly, Stacy, and Colette for having me back after a long hiatus.

Today’s theme is a “freebie pick” and I invite you to hit the dance floor.

In honor of President’s Day and for the two presidents this holiday was originally created for, I’d like to share with you a few songs written about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

For George Washington’s inauguration “Hail, Columbia!” but what I found interesting is this song was our country’s first national anthem which was replaced in 1931 when it was replaced by the “Star Spangled Banner”.

SchooHouse Rock prompted learning through mewsic. I remember when this song aired on public TV.

Abraham Lincoln led the nation during a turbulent era. Google provided a few interesting songs about the man and the below song (and a few others) at Music Weird blog.

“We Are Coming Father Abraham” was written in support of Lincoln and the Civil War; performed by the Gettysburg College Singers.

I stumbled upon this animation that teaches kids about the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. Setting history facts to mewsic is a great way to learn and it’s so much fun!
