In case you haven’t heard, it’s that time of year again for the A-Z community to come together for the biggest blog fest in cyberspace and it all starts on April 1st!
This will make my 8th year to run around like a chicken without a head from this point forward. I was 98% certain that I would set this round out. I’ve felt the self-inflicted strain for months but like a blogging junkie that I am, I can’t say no to the crave to do it one more time.
For the last four years my themes revolved around art sketches. Ever since I started drawing in 2017, I can tell my skills have improved but more importantly I’m now a confident artist. Am I pro? Nope, I’m still miles from it and I may never reach that level but that’s okay. I like what I’m doing and the drive to keep at it continues to burn.
This year because I’m starting later than usual to get my head into the game, my illustrations probably will be a bit rushed, so it’ll be interesting to see how these come together. What will I be bringing to my sketch pad you ask. In 2017, I did pencil sketches as opposed to digital illustrations and I drew a little bit of everything just to test my abilities. One drawing was of Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner. That was a lot of fun and since that time I’ve drawn a few other cartoon characters. In the last couple of weeks while looking for inspiration for my Thursday art dates I was reminded of how I really wanted to pursue drawing cartoon characters from my childhood and just like that the spark was kindled and the idea born, the Looney Tunes A-Z Art Sketch series!
I hope you’ll stop in from time to time next month to see how I’m progressing. I have a list of past A-Z themes, if you’re curious. Meanwhile, I’m heading over to take a look at the other themes shared by fellow A2Zers. Have a terrific day! X💋X💋, Cathy
