Artwork Do-Overs to Painting-Like Illustrations

I haven’t managed time too well lately.  We were out of town last weekend, I’ll share a little more about that in my Thankful segment, and we’re planning another weekend away in a few weeks.  This is partly to blame for why I feel like a chicken without a head.  Instead of skipping TAD with Rain’s Kitchen & Garden, I’m veering off course since I was unable to create new artwork for her previous two week’s themes.  Maybe, I’ll find time to go back to pick up them.  I hope you don’t mind the artwork do-overs to painting-like image recreations.

The first Procreate drawing, I thought I shared in a past post but I can’t seem to locate the drawing on my site.  It doesn’t mean that I didn’t.  It just means I can’t find it.  I could’ve uploaded it with a different file name from what’s on my computer.  This wouldn’t be the first time I’ve done this.  Anyway, I will pretend that this is a brand new unveiling (and maybe it is) of A Walk In The Park.

For Easter, I used an Procreate drawing from a few years ago. I definitely shared the original of this make over.  I worked the colors in my Procreate design a bit, then I pushed my final sketch through Brushstrokes turning my drawing into a painting.  Interestingly, the brushstroke effect I picked for it is called Illustrated. I love how it has an almost a comic appearance with the lines and colors more pronounced. The caption was added using Pixelmator Pro.  I sent my revamped Easter greetings as a text message to our children.

Just so you’ll know, it’s entirely possible I may not have a chance to share my art in two weeks. I’m busy doing other things, as I mentioned and it leaves me with little time to leisurely draw. Everything will fall back in order and before you know it, I’ll be back ready to put up my masterpieces 😅 for you again.

I’m thankful for our weekend get-away. Last Friday, we spent the night in Greensboro, NC. We were there so that we could go to the Petty Fest event the next day. Saturday morning, we got up before the sun to head to Randleman for the event. The reason for the early rise and shine was they handed out 100 wristbands to meet Richard and Kyle Petty. At which time you could get their autographs. I was certain we wouldn’t be one of the 100 but we got in line when the crowd was very small and fortunate to get them at 9am. This makes for a double thankful. 😉 It was a chilly start and breezier than I wanted but as the morning went on it developed into a gorgeous day. The forecast called for rain and it did for a brief period rain on us as we traveled on Friday. It cleared up by the time we got to Statesville, though. The rest of the evening and on Saturday we had a lot of blue skies. So, now that gives me a triple thankful! 😉

The couple posing with Kyle and Richard were in front of us. This is the best up close photo I took. We did get a picture of us with the boys. I asked Richard’s daughter if she wouldn’t mind using my iPhone for me to snap a few. She was awesome!

DH got a Richard Petty hero card autographed which we picked up at Legacy Motor Club in Statesville on our way and at Petty Fest he bought me t-shirt in the museum gift shop that I got the boys to sign. They were just as nice as can be! I hope to share more photos soon. It’s a blessing to step away from life’s normal routine to do fun stuff like this and while I’m not a Nascar fan I have admiration for many of the drivers, as well as their loyal followers who as a collective group seem like an awesome bunch.

I’ll be back with Monday’s Music Moves Me where you’ll find me boogieing on the dance floor.  If you music to share or just a music lover then this is the party for you, so come join the fun. This is CAAC signing off,  have a doodletastic day! X💋, Cathy
