I’m dragging my heels this week. The past couple of months I’ve been so wrapped up with tightening our online presence switching out our email addresses at all important websites to an encrypted email service and giving each site a unique password. The password manger I used generated some strong ones giving me the confidence that these accounts are now more secure. It’s exhausting work. I have a handful of places yet to finish up. I’m ready to get this done and on with my life again.
I managed to make a few return visits in Blogosphere. I keep questioning my posting frequency, do I post daily or get back to every other day? Right now, I’m burned out with everything which makes it difficult to find the motivation to do much of anything but I know I’d regret sitting on the sideline and will make a reasonable attempt to get back into the game.
Today, I’m sharing with Rain’s Thursday Art Date community and you my sketch for this week’s theme, snowman. I took the liberty to give my snowman a snow woman calling my illustration, “Snow Date”.
I haven’t had a lot of time to doodle so this was a welcome treat to relaxingly sketch my snow couple on a snow date. Do you know this is my first snowman illustration? Well…as an adult. I’m sure I drew snowmen when I was kid. My inspiration was DH and I thought about I feel when I’m with him, like it’s our first date. We’ve been together for almost 45 years and all but two of those years we’ve been a married couple. It’s great that we share the same passion after all this time.
I meant to write “CAAC” on the snowman’s ball cap while I was drawing the scene but forgot. I was able to add this detail using Pixelmator Pro and while fooling around with the app I liked the results of some filter settings and I couldn’t resist not sharing these with you
As you can see, I had fun and I think it’s so cool what you can do with photo-editing. Being creative is what makes me happy and I’m really ready to get this side kicked in again.
I’m thankful for a wonderful holiday season. We enjoyed a quiet time of togetherness and although we weren’t with the family, I’m thankful everyone is in good health or for the most part. Our youngest daughter who lives in Maine has Covid again. She says it’s not as bad as the first time around but still it’s awful, so that it is reason to be thankful. Most if not all of my nieces, nephew, and their families who all live near my folks have had it and somehow my parents with their high risk health issues, God’s intervention I’m sure, has missed the Covid bullet. THAT is reason to be thankful for! Another blessings and while I don’t know all the details yet, DD#1 and LA had an accident early yesterday evening. They are okay. LA needed 5-stitches above her left brow. I’m thankful the outcome wasn’t worse.
I’m thankful for a new year. I complain about the hands of time seeming to speed by and it really does feel that way but at the same token I’m thankful for each day of life I’m given and seeing a new year come is is definitely a blessing.
I’m thankful with the first snowfall of 2022 wasn’t too bad. We got 3-4 inches of wet, clingy snow, our morning lows on Monday was below freezing and our electricity was knocked out for several hours but we live in a house and a warm bed to stay in until the power came on. I’m very thankful for our home. I’m also very thankful that Monday was DH’s off-day and didn’t have to take a day of leave but even more so I’m thankful that he works from home and doesn’t have to be out in bad weather.
I’m thankful DS has Mondays off, so he didn’t have to be out in that mess.
I’m thankful for all we have! I know there is someone somewhere who is less fortunate than us. I know what it is like to fall on hard times. It’s not fun. I’m so grateful and thankful for God’s goodness.
Our forecast is calling for another snow storm for us with a winter storm advisory from noon to 7am tomorrow. I hope our power and Internet stay on, if this comes to pass. I’m ready for spring! Alright, I’m heading over to Rain’s Garden to browse the gallery of artistry. Tomorrow, I’ll be back with my newest edition of Friday Fun Stuff. Have a doodletastic day! X💋X💋, Cathy
