Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at this week’s masterpieces (if only in my mind). The hostess of the weekly art date is Rain’s Kitchen & Garden. Her prompt last Thursday was primary colors and this week it is folklore.
I pulled a design from my 2021 A2Z pencil sketches that I thought a red, yellow, and blue color scheme might work well with for my Procreate recreation.
I’m coming full circle so to speak with my next art redo. Waiting in the wing for color was my Headless Horsemen sketch I did for TAD in October 2020. This works well for Rain’s folklore theme today.
My mother’s birthday was Tuesday. I used one of the Brushstrokes tulips drawings I shared in my last TAD post to make her birthday card. I generated a pdf version of the document without the original verse inside (see below) and left it blank for anyone needing a feminine birthday card.

In the kitchen lately, I tried another crusty bread recipe I found online. It claimed to be easy. Honestly it is, if you can read and follow instructions then you’re sure to have success.
Making home-made bread, especially when it’s yeast risen takes time, but it’s worth every minute of the wait. It’s better than anything you can buy from a grocery store, more like restaurant quality and DH declared it the best French Bread ever. It really is quite good. Here is my recipe if you’re interested!
I used some of the bread slices to make my own Pepperoni French Bread pizza. I brushed the crusty side with some Avocado oil and sprinkled garlic salt on top of the oil, then topped each slice with my home-made pizza sauce, pepperoni, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. In a 350º oven I heated the bread until the cheese was melted about 15 minutes. Mmm, it was good!
Another item I made in the kitchen at DH’s request was Oreo Truffles. This recipe or one very similar has crossed my eyes over the years. I really didn’t think this was something DH would like, but he messaged the recipe to me one while I was asleep so that I’d see it when I got up first thing. This is what he does when he wakes in the middle of the night and can’t get sleepy, he looks at recipes. lol I thought well, it grabbed his eye then I will make it for him. I’m so very glad that I did, too. The truffles turned out better than I expected.
This Thursday, I’m thankful my curiosity leads me to trying new recipes. The French Bread makes wonderful pepperoni pizza for a simple, easy dinner which gives me another thankful. I love simple and easy!
I’m thankful it feels like spring. The weather continues to have its highs and lows but overall I’m not complaining too much. I’m happy winter is now behind us for awhile.
I’m thankful for making the decision to not participate in this month annual blog fest. I really needed to do this just for me, no pressures or worries.
I’m thankful for our early family Easter dinner last weekend. It’s such a blessing to spend time with my children/grandchildren.
I’m thankful for our darling LA. Just look how cute she is holding a bunny her daddy brought home from work.
