February Song along with my 4M Mail, Soup, Vaccum Theme Playlist

Purs and hisses, Kittens and Dawgs! How was your weekend? It’s fabulous to see you and welcome to Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me

For February, I’m the honorary co-hostess.  That basically means I get to pick the themes.  Yay, me!  Anywho,  coming up with ideas for mewsic is tricky especially as long as I’ve been doing this and most of you, too.  I used the National Day Calendar for inspiration, so I’m asking everyone to use these keywords in lyrics/song titles: mail, soup, and vacuum.  I’m gonna a twist to this theme by throwing in some alternative words to consider zip, slurp, and suck.  I mean, that’s what comes to mind when I think of mail, soup, and vacuum, don’t you?  Are you ready to groove?  Hit play to listen to my 9-song playlist!

  1. Air Mail Special ~ Ella Fitzgerald Years ago I used to do a lot of pen-palling and I recall writing on the outside of the envelopes for international travel, ‘AIR MAIL’.
  2. Email ~ Pet Shop Boys Since those years of snail-mailing pals technology progressed and so did I moving to email correspondence but even that has fallen on by the wayside.  Now, I just keep up with distant friends once a year with my annual Christmas newsletter.
  3. Zip Gun Bop ~ Royal Crown Revue Air Mail to email letters travel like a ‘ZIP’. The first time I’d heard of Royal Crown Revue was when we saw the movie starring Jim Carey, The Mask. I love their big band, jazz sound, so it was really cool finding this track.
  4. Black Bean Soup ~ David Soul. The winter spurs my cravings for a good hot bowl of soup.  Normally, I think of Chilli but I can go for black bean soup or even red beans and rice. Yum!
  5. The Ballad of Chicken Soup ~ Carole King. This is such a funny name for a song but it’s a song from the children’s musical, Really Rosie, from 1962.  In the mid-70s a TV animated version of the mewsical aired with King doing the voice-over of the main character, Rosie.
  6. Dance the Slurp  Whenever you have soup, you can’t help but SLURP it. This little fun 60s novelty diddy isn’t about soup but an icy beverage found in American 7-11s which the company produced to promote their Slurpee drink.  The artist is unknown. Without doing a lot of digging I learned that in the 90s DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist built their legendary ‘Brainfreeze’ mix around it.  I think this is an album, but I’m not sure.
  7. I Wanna Be Yours ~ Arctic Monkey.  ‘Vacuum’ is a word not used heavily in song titles but you can find it lyrics as in this song with the opening line…”I wanna be your vacuum cleaner Breathing in your dust”.  The song draws comparisons similar to this with other objects.  It’s a new-to-me tune like all the others on this playlist and has a pleasing sound to my ears.
  8. The Wall Song ~Crosby & Nash.  Toward the middle to end of the second verse, the lyrics read “And there’s a place like a vacuum waiting inside you”.  Again, a  newly introduced song but I liked the way the mewsic flowed.
  9. My Life Would Suck Without You ~ Kelly Clarkson.  This might be the only song title I recognized and while I certainly do not like to use the keyword substitute, I feel would feel like it if DH wasn’t in my life.
To celebrate & honor BIL#2’s birthday yesterday I’ve choosen a fun little ditty from the year he was born, 1951, I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat (Mel Blanc).

🎶This is a mewsic linky party ONLY, all other posts are subjected to removal or labeled ‘NO MUSIC’.🎶

We’re not mewsic snobs. If you’re not following the theme that’s okay, just as long as your post contains mewsic. All that we ask is for you is to add a link back to this hop with anyone of our co-hosts.

Now, join  XmasDolly (4M Brain Child) and my fellow 4M Co-hostesses Stacy,  Alana, & Colette on the dance floor.
