Life behind the lens hasn’t happened a whole lot in the last few years nor have many opportunities jumped at me to pull out my iPhone to capture. It’s disheartening, to say the least, but this phase will pass with new adventures on the loom (I’m confident).
While my big girl camera collects dust (not really, she’s snuggled in her bag) in place of photographs, I’ve shared my art sketches. Over the past few months when I see something that grabs my attention, I seized the chance to pull out my iPhone to freeze that moment. Here are a few of those views from my window…well, almost.
Scribble Picnic is taking a temporary (I hope) hiatus but from time to time I will continue to share my artwork here. In case you haven’t heard, I started a spin-off with my A2Z Little Mermaid pencil drawings that I call ‘in living color’. Last week, I presented a colorized Flounder. This series won’t be hurried. I’m in it for the fun and when I’m having fun, then it shines through. Hopefully, it shows in my designs.
For the past two weeks, I have not used a linky code and I may continue to do without it through the summer months with Blogosphere traffic slowing down.
If you’re looking to boost your stats or just want to meet new bloggers, then please leave a breadcrumb (direct URL) to your post for others to find you easily. The reason I say to do unless you’re 100% that your blog is linked to your profile then it gets frustrating for those who want to visit when they hit a dead end.
ABC Wednesday is nearing the alphabet again with the letter ‘U’ today and after April’s A2Z blogfest my brain is a bit taxed, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying mewsic. I mean, who can’t get into some tunes each day?
I found a list of rock bands that start with the letter ‘U’ from which I decided to highlight just a few.
Ultravox ~ At first I thought this band was new2me but after listening to some of their songs I think someone introduced them to me through one of my blog mewsic venues. Wikipedia leaves me to believe the band’s success is primarily in the UK. The band’s most successful song is Vienna from 1981. Have you heard of this 70s British rock band?
The Underground Rebels is a new2me find. This band got started in Vancouver, B.C., in 1997 under the name The Loving Dead. The group’s song “You” got a lot of rotation on western Canada radio stations. The title track from their CD, “Do It Again” was featured by the NHL team The Edmonton Oilers, when they scored a goal. The hard rockers now call Orlando, Florida home and if you’d listen to some of their stuff, check out this Insult to Injury album YT playlist.
Unruly Child is an American hard rock band with seven studio albums. Can’t Go Home is their last to release in 2017. I like the style but I’d rather no look at the lead singer. Let’s just say his voice and appearance don’t match which messes up the head. I found a YT mix playlist if you’re interested in sampling their stuff.
What ‘U’ bands outside of the rock genre can you name? Come on now, don’t underestimate yourself, underscore a few ‘U’ song titles that come to mind or. Don’t feel bad if you have to ask Google, I don’t think you’re unfaithful if you gotta. Lord knows I’ve done the same many times. 😉
Do you share mewsic on your blog? Would you like to boogie with me? If so, join me on the dance floor each week with Monday’s 🎶Mewsic🎶 Moves Me along with my fellow 4M co-hosts. Yep, that’s a shameless shoutout but when an opportunity presents itself then I say grab it and go! 😉
Have a blessed day and be sure to join me for giggles & more with Friday Fun Stuff!
