#WW Lake Lure Inn

Hello, kittens & dawgs! It’s hump-day again and as the old saying goes, it’s all down here the rest of the way. I’m ready to slide right into Friday, aren’t  you?

Last week, #WW Bicyclist post I promised another sneak peek of Lake Lure, North Carolina.

The prime focus in this little mountain community is Lake Lure and the inn. It’s an excellent place to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding, water sports, boat tours, and golfing or if you like to a slower pace then there are places to shop, eat, and be pampered. But what you may not know is this is one of the filming sites of the 1987 global movie sensation Dirty Dancing.

Believe it or not, I have not seen the movie in its entirety, but hope to correct that soon. It’s available for streaming from Netflix.

I am not an expert on the movie and came across Dirty Dancing Filming Locations, Then and Now with history on the scene shots from Lake Lure. What really sounds like loads of fun is the annual The Dirty Dancing Festival set this year for August 14th – 15th. This would be cool to attend, don’t you think? An interesting thing I found out is that part of the ticket proceeds go to a worthy cause: Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN). My previous GI doctor passed suddenly from this disease.

Anywho, we had a beautiful time in Lake Lure. I’m looking forward to another photo-op in the area. It’s a lovely get-away spot to escape the daily grind of things! Now, let’s give a soft round of applauds and cheers to this week’s featured photographer.

Time Out For Mom!!

I invite you to show some blog love by visiting Les today and leave a few sweet words. Don’t forget to link up!

To round things off, you can listen to the complete Dirty Dancing soundtrack while visiting a few of these #WW communities this morning.

Thank you for stopping by.
