Good morning, Kittens and Dawgs! It’s fabulous to see you! Back in June…where did the time go?… John shared a playlist of songs from his favorite 10 albums. At first, I thought I didn’t have such a list but then in a snap four or five albums came to mind. When I was younger I don’t think I ever owned an album, not a vinyl, and the
- The Best of Tommy James & the Shondells “I Think We’re Alone Now” make me think of when summers spent with my uncle and auntie in the late 60s and early 70s. 🙂
- American Woman 1970 (The Guess Who) song feature with the same name reminds of my close friend, Lisa Gayle. We shared countless hours together listening to her auntie’s mewsic collection.
- “Candle in the Wind” by Elton John from his Goodbye Yellow Brick Road always makes me think of my BFF, Anita, who had the album but at that time, the feature song with the same name was my favorite. It wasn’t until adulthood I got the CD.
- “Lost Without Your Love” from The Best of Bread. After we got married, we bought Bread’s mewsic on CD. In our courtship days, “Aubrey” was our favorite and at our wedding DH’s close friend performed “If” and “Sweet Surrender”.
- “What a Feeling” from the 80s film Flashdance (Irene Cara) tells the story about a young girl’s dream to be a ballerina and is full of furtastic mewsic.
- “Daydream Believer” from The Monkees Greatest Hits. I had a crush on Davey Jones when I was a kid and I loved watching The Monkees TV show but then who didn’t?
- “You Are So Beautiful” from Joe Cocker Gold is perhaps the first song I recall a boy singing to me. It’s funny, I didn’t feel beautiful.
- “Power of Love” from The Best of Huey Lewis & The News. Many of Huey Lewis’ songs from the 80s put me in a good mood and always remind me of the Back to the Future film series. What fun times!
- “Jump For My Love” from The Best of the Pointer Sisters. This is another group that brings back fond memories from the 80s tied to a great movie Beverly Hills Cop with Eddie Murphy.
- Wildflower 2006 (Sheryl Crow) This album reminds me of a sweet friend and I dedicate track 6 (“I Know Why”) to you!
This month, our very own Stacy is serving as honorary co-hostess which means she gets to pick both themes but today’s it’s “your choice song picks”, so anything goes! You’re invited to join my fellow co-hosts: XmasDolly (4M Brain Child), Stacy, Alana, & Colette on the dance floor (ONLY link mewsic posts) below.
[tweetthis]I’m boogieing to “your choice” song picks with the #MondaysMusicMovesMe gang! @xmasdolly [/tweetthis]
I’m rounding out things with a special thanks by honoring our Vets today with Keith Urban’s “For You”.
Life is a bit busy at the moment, so if you don’t see regularly scheduled posts then know that all is well and that I just have my hands full taking care of things. Not to worry, I have my mewsic booked through to the end of the year, so there’s no worry that you’ll miss a beat with me on the dance floor! Keep those tunes playing, your body swaying, and I’ll be boogieing over to see you soon.
