Why does this not surprise me that Rain came up with ‘Garden‘ as this week’s challenge? 😀
My garden inspiration came from the sketch design I used for my sister’s birthday card.
June makes me think hydrangeas. My late MIL had bunches of hydrangea bushes bordering the house and along the fence near the road. Â The big pom-pom shaped blooms in their glorious vivid shades of blues, purples, and pinks always made me smile.
Although this is not a representation of my late in-laws walk leading to their home, I loved the homey feel.
The various tools to create an illustration in Procreate is fairly forgiving allowing impurrfections to give your drawing character or at least that’s my opinion.
One thing I hope to pursue someday is painting but for now, take my Procreate creation and run it through a paint app called Brushstroke which is kinda cool.  Tell me what you think.
If you’re a painter then you’ll spot that it’s a fake oil painting but for the untrained eye such mine I like how the digital effect creates a soft brushstroke texture.  I’m not sure what it’s like to paint with oil or acrylic or watercolors but maybe I don’t have to be spot on with my sketching to give my scene the right illusion.  I don’t know what to expect with this medium and hope someone can offer advice since I consider myself quite the beginner.
When I first began sketching in 2017, I illustrated a pencil drawing of a small garden scene with a lamp post.
I want to do another pencil drawing of this illustration or a reinvented scene. Â I have trouble making some aspects of my picture appear 3-D, like the sidewalk in this design as well as the one above. Â Patience and practice will eventually allow me the vision to nail it.
Thanks for stopping in with your coffee for a peek at my masterpiece and …oh yeah for not spilling it on my artwork lol .  It’s been a super pleasure to share my sprinkle of talent I have with you this morning. 😘 If you like to see what others are bringing to the art play date, then I invite you to high tail it over to Rain’s Garden to browse through the gallery of artistry!
I’ll be back tomorrow with an edition of Friday Fun Stuff chockful of giggles, fill-ins, & more! Come join the fun!
