Random Humor and 70s Soul Music

The top meme cracked me up when I first saw it.  I’m thinking my bloggy pal, Mimi, shared it.  Anywho, it reminded me when I was a kid and how it made my daddy gagged if he found a hair (not hare) in his food.  I understand such a reaction if the hair belonged to a stranger but a family member or your own I couldn’t make sense of it and it would make me giggle to see daddy’s reaction.

The CEO and owner of the last place I worked made his own copies most of the time but I do I remember the difficulties we encountered with that copier and the copy service guy was frequently at the office working his magic.  I vaguely recall the office having a shredder.

While this doesn’t apply to me, since I am my own boss these days it’s still funny. Of course, I do remember feeling exactly like this occasionally.

I have mentioned it before on CAAC how I really hate seeing a guy wearing a bun.  I know this is a fad and if you ask me a very stupid one but never have I seen a guy yet that this look looks good on.  I hate to let the Cathy out of the bag but boys, seriously this makes you look like your grandma and I betcha if granny hasn’t told you how dumb it looks then let me be the one to break the news.  It looks dumb and so NOT manly.

What if animals were on social media?

What else would you expect?

I am using the previous week set of Tuesday 4 just in case I don’t have time to grab this week’s set of questions.

1. Besides Thanksgiving is there anything about November you like/dislike?   I count my blessings year round but there’s something special about this month and I feel even more thankful than any other time.  I love the whole idea of a day of thanksgiving and am so happy the first colonist saw the importance of to say special thanks to our Creator.

2. How is November weather where you live? Does it suit you?  The weather has been a mixture of beautiful fall temperatures as well as dreary, cloudy days.  I love a crisp blue autumn sky with huge fluffy clouds coupled with slightly cool temps but no wind.  That kind of weather suits me perfectly.

3. When do you plan for Thanksgiving? Eat home or out? Menu? It’s usually just the two of us.  I begin making our meal about the week before doing a little each day storing my dishes in the freezer for Thanksgiving.  I generally prepare the usual Thanksgiving menu dishes – turkey, ham, stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry relish, both buttermilk and Angel biscuits (this is basically a yeast roll), pumpkin pie,  and pecan pie. The meats and stuffing I make enough for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  The oven is going to be on, so why not make the best use of it.   All of these tricks I learned from my late MIL who was always so on top of her game.

4. When do you begin decorating and planning for Christmas. It “officially” begins after Thanksgiving and the Macy’s Parade when Santa arrives at the end.  We usually have our Christmas tree up the weekend prior to Thanksgiving.  Normally, I like putting out my New England Dept. 56 Village but I didn’t last year and I probably won’t this year, either.

I’m back at my regular blog routine but with Thanksgiving next week, it’s safe to say if I manage to get caught up with responding to comments and making return visits then I’ll be doing fabulous.  Whatever I do, I’m going to try to keep stress out of the mix.   I’m closing things off with 2-hour 70s Soul playlist elude of my TopTenTuesday picks.  Now, it’s time to grab a cup of coffee and follow along as I head off to visit some of my favorites Comedy-Plus (Sandee) and Stacy Uncorked.   I’ll be back tomorrow with a new edition of Wild Wednesdays – the party where just about anything goes! 😉
