Lance Armstrong to Pantless in NYC

This is my day to totally get down with random, which leads me to delve into today’s news. Let’s see what’s going on in our world.

Finally, after years of controversial chatter over Lance Armstrong alleged performance drug use to enhance his cycling ability it came out in a candid talk where Armstrong tells Winfrey he doped.

I’d like to say it stunned me but it didn’t. I supported Lance when he denied using drugs in past Tour de France races as rumors. I guess I just wanted to believe someone with his extraordinary ability was reaching these kinds of achievements through hard training and healthy living. I was delusional.

The sad truth of it all is unethical practices such as this has a way of coming back to bite you.  It looks like it caught up with Lance long last.  Moral of the story: Do it the right way or no way. There are no short cuts in life.

Did you catch the warning in today’s headlines: Michael Savage: Don’t trust the Feds on flu shot?  I’m not saying you should or should not get immunized against the flu.  We all know the influenza vaccination is based on a highly educated guess by the  CDC as to which strains of bacteria to incorporate into the recipe. What I never thought of was the possible future consequences the flu shot may have on one’s health. I dare say I believe Savage is onto something.

Bloomberg urges Obama to defy Congress, implement gun control by executive action. It sounds like the liberals are begging for a new American revolution. This is so stupid! We know criminals will NEVER be affected by ANY laws pertaining to gun control.  They’re mostly likely using stolen firearms anyhow. Gun control only affects upstanding, hard-working, law-abiding, tax-paying, citizens of this country 100%.

What lawmakers and courts need to do is stop slapping the hoodlums on the wrist for their offenses and put them inside a small confined cell with NO cable TV! NO internet! NO free college education! NO recreational activity! They are animals and should be treated as such.

Why should criminals change when punishment is like a vacation? I’m not saying it’s all fun inside the “Big House” but think about how prison life was 50+ years ago. Jailbirds lived in small quarters and sentenced to intense labor for their wrong doings and murderers publicly executed for hundreds of years in America.

In the early years of our country, the guilty of lesser offenses received a shaming for their deed. They were placed in a stockade similar to this.

Think about it, most criminals will not reform. I’m not saying all, I said MOST. However, if the punishment fits the crime and if the time served didn’t feel like a sabbatical, then there would not be so many repeat offenders. Where does the change need to be?

We have gotten away from the public humiliation of wrong-doers which would help to deter lawless individuals in their misconduct of others. Perhaps, the problem for the last century is that we’ve listened to the wrong lawmaker, instead of the supreme Law Maker and His word for disciplining the unruly.

Belgian twin brothers euthanized by choice. Where does anyone get off thinking death by one’s own hand or by a licensed doctor is a good thing? If this isn’t alarming enough, the article also points out the euthanizing of children and Alzheimer’s sufferers. Will this be a new holocaust of sorts eliminating the weak because society sees them as a financial and emotional drain? Don’t bat your eyes in thinking this will NEVER  happen in America. It’s coming to that and I’m not fanning the flames of fear here, folks. This is just the way things are progressively flowing if we allow it.
