On the occasion I have two posts to publish on the same day and one being BOTB, then I usually set it to go live at 12am. So, if you’re looking for my current battle, then you’ll find a link to it in my side bar under “Current Headline News”. Don’t rush off, you may as well check this out! 😘
When I learned of Rain’s “Candles” TAD prompt, my mind drifted back to my junior high school days. I vaguely recall taking art. I don’t know if it was required or we had a choose of electives. Candles was one of the subjects given for us to draw. I can’t tell you for sure if we had the assignment close to the holidays but I always think of Christmas when I think of candles and this memory.
I used my Procreate design in Pixelmator creating three different moods and my final image is a Brushstrokes recreation.
I have other art “candle” sketch ideas in mind. Time didn’t allow me to do more but I am going to do them. I appreciate the flame Rain puts inside me to create.
I haven’t done much new creating in the kitchen but it doesn’t mean I’m not repeating tried and true recipes I’ve gotten down pat like homemade sausage and onion pizza or any other pizza variety pies. I wanted to make shortbread over Christmas, unfortunately that didn’t happen. I did make a batch the last weekend in December. I found a Walker’s Scottish Shortbread Cookie copy-cat recipe. I’ve made shortbread cookies before but this recipe is better than the one I use and is now a new favorite. The author of the site has recipes dedicated to most major holidays and I plan to look for more tempting recipes to try.
This week I’m thankful that I got a dental appointment set up. My pain at the moment is dull and tolerable. I’m thankful despite DH’s pending dental work he doesn’t experience pain. I’m thankful my son thinks its important to spend special time with his little mommy. He’s a good boy! I’m thankful DD#2 has a caring, considerate, and loving fiance. He’s such a good support for her being so far from home. His family is now hers. I’m thankful that DD#2 loves to bake goodies to share with us. We got a lovely box filled with delicious treats made with her sweet hands. 🙂 I’m thankful for DD#1’s frequent texts, pix, and calls. It’s so nice to stay in touch with the kids! I’m very thankful DD#1’s recent injuries to her knee and ankle turned out to be just bad sprains. It could’ve been worse.
What are you thankful for?
