Revamped artwork

Art themes for last and this at Rain’s Kitchen & Garden are warm colors (red, orange, & yellow) and cool colors (blue, purple, & green). I’m taking a short cut today in sharing revamped art which you may recognize.

The first illustration I shared on Facebook in 2019 with an art group. The prompt was fruit and vegetables. I decided to draw a basket of strawberries. I use my artwork frequently to create special occasion greeting cards for family. Looking for inspiration, I went with this image touching it up.

Procreate Strawberries noise filter – using this new image design I used Pixelmator to add a phrase across the clouds Some of the sweetest moments in life… and on the inside it reads happen when you become a mother. Happy Mother’s Day!

I converted the document file for the card to a pdf which I will share with you shortly.  I’ve been playing with a lot with my Brushstrokes app, using the above re-do artwork let’s see how it turns out…

I like texture of the painting-like remake.  The only thing is you can’t read what’s on the strawberry box label. The app can’t do everything but for the most part I simply love how it changes things.

My next art piece you will definitely recognize if you’ve been with the TAD community since 2021.  Rain prompt Crisscross in July of that year, I drew a basket of fruit with a crisscross design. There are some things I like about the original but mostly I wasn’t happy with the background or light colors.  I modified the Procreate sketch with these new changes.

Naturally, curious to see how this image would look if it were a painting I let Brushstrokes do its magic.

Are you tired of seeing old works become new again?  If you hang in here for a few minutes more, I have one more for you, except I don’t believe I ever, ever shared this one before.  It was just hanging out in my Ready to Share folder.  Rain gave a prompt of “green” in August 2019 at which time I was taking a short blogging hiatus.  I suppose I had hoped to play along when I returned but never did. This is what I drew, except this is my newer version of the original. It’s amazing the things I can do to make my art look better with a few tweaks.  That’s why I love Procreate.  It’s forgiving, allowing me to fix mistakes without ruining the rest of my work. 🙂

Procreate Kermit

Let’s see what a painting of Kermit might look like!

I’m thankful for spring-like temperatures, all blooming things, wonderful friends such as you, and a good report on my Colonoscopy.

I wanted to give a thank you to Nicole for sharing her crusty bread recipe a few weeks ago.  True to her words, it’s easy and tasty.

I served my bread with some home made soup, a recipe I pulled off the cobwebbed shelves of my memory.  My late MIL often made a corned beef, cabbage, with Veg-All and canned tomatoes.  For the first time in a long time since last making this, it wasn’t too bad.  The recipe is forth-coming but not in this post.

Finally, as promised here’s the Mother’s Day card I made last year for you to use. 😉

On Monday, I’ll be dancing with the 4M crew and you’re invited to join the party.  If you have music to share then this is the place to do it. Can I count you?  This is CAAC signing off,  have a doodletastic day! XO, Cathy
