Yesterday, I kicked off the new month with my first Battle of the Bands for October.
Are you ready to get this party moving? This week’s theme is songs relating to a masquerade or disguises. Feeling challenged, don’t sweat it just have fun. Whatever you bring to the party is sure to keep the energy flowing!
While looking for “masquerade” song ideas, I came a cross a late 80s band called, Masquerade ← click link if below video won’t build. I really enjoyed the sound of their self-titled album. It’s edgier than what my normal listening pleasure and is for some of you but it’s worth introducing this lost (to me) rock band to you.
Album tracks: 00:00 Gimme All Your Love 04:54 Four Letter Words 08:45 Our Time Has Come 13:37 Sudden Love Affair 18:38 Ride With The Wind 22:37 Dawning Of The Day 27:30 Le Baugeux De Tromphe (Instrumental) 28:16 Wild Child 32:26 Dancin’ On The Edge 36:43 Liaison 37:16 Justice 40:42 All Night All Day 45:24 Give It A Shot 49:32 Lonely World
The 1988 heavy/metal rock group, Masquerade features band members Thomas Eric – guitar, Tony Yoanson – vocals, Marco Tapani – drums, and Henrik Lundberg – bass formed in Sweden. A YouTuber I stumbled on has the same above playlist on his channel and while on his channel I possibly found one of the bands earlier albums, One Night Stand. In my search, I learned Masquerade had another album that works really well for this week’s theme, In Disguise that released in the early millennium.
I found another bands with the same name, a post-punk rock band in Helsinki Finland for those interested in this genre.
This is a music link up. Hence, your post must contain music (at least one song) or your URL is marked “No Music”. The party co-hostess are now featured in my right side bar underneath the 4M banner. The guidelines are simple. Every other week, a suggested (not mandatory) theme is given to build your song picks. YouTube and other music sites have options to create and embed playlists or individual songs into your post. On the off weeks, we dance to whatever music moves you – your choice. Finally, to access the dance party, just add your music post below, and visit others on the floor. Let the party begin!
With only a few months left in this year, I decided it was time to set up next year’s 4M Theme page and am asking for music prompts for 2024. If you have any, please email yours to me pronto. Credit will be given for your contributions. The honorary monthly co-host spot is always open to anyone wishing to volunteer for the spot. If you want to fill in, just say so, and pick the month that works best for you. Now, ain’t that easy?
