Good-morning kittens & dawgs! Yesterday’s Flashback Friday memories of my school days reminded me of the music I enjoyed. One of my favorite bands was the one DH introduced to me.
In the late 60s, this self-described “rock and roll band with horns” launched their politically charged, sometimes experimental sound before finding their niche in soft rock.
In the bands’ early days, Jimi Hendrix once told Parazaider, “Jeez, your horn players are like one set of lungs and your guitar player is better than me.” That’s quite the compliment considering Hendrix’s reputation on the guitar, eh?
Throughout the 70s and 80s, this group produced a continuous flow of Billboard singles and albums sensations, second to none other than the Beach Boys in success among American rock bands known as Chicago.
Let’s give a listen to Chicago’s complete greatest hits album, The Story…
That’s a wrap for this week. I hope you enjoyed your visit and I appreciate you including me in your weekend. Feel free to invite your friends to stop in for a listen. It’s a great feeling to share! Have a songsational Saturday!
What’s up next? Come back tomorrow for your weekly dose of laughter with Sunday Sillies!

I’m a big fan of the CTA’s music. (Yes, I’ll call it CTA, since I’m not at risk of getting sued by the real Chicago Transit Authority.)
Yeah, I don’t think you’re at risk for calling Chicago by their original group name. lol
Chicago came out in my party days, and being from Chicago naturally they were one of my favorite bands, sorry I’m late, but I shall be posting in a few minutes, and I believe Naila-Moon is playing along too, but I haven’t been there yet. I’M FEELING WONDERFUL TODAY AND ALL IN SHAPE FOR A BOOGIE! WOO HOO These injections were the right thing to do… LET’S BOOGIE!
Wow, Cathy. my favorite Band of all time. When I was a preteen, my older brother took me with him to concert… Jimi Hendricks headlined the show. Billy Preston was second banana. But this little unknown group, Chicago came out as the warm up band! At that time they were called “Chicago Transit Authority,” which they shortened later to “Chicago.”
I recall my brother looking at me, and saying. “You know what? Give ’em 6 months and they’re gonna be a force to reckon with!” Loved that concert!
Good memories and thanks for this Saturday songsuasion!!! You rock!
