I wanted to develop a theme for this month, and if finally dawn on me the direction I want to go in choosing artists/groups. That being said, for the rest of the month I will feature the voice of Ireland. The first Irish groups I was introduced to me was from my lovely Finnish friend. I had not heard of the group, but no sooner had she utter their name they made a splash here in the USA.  Let’s give it for some of my favorites by The Corrs!

Thank you for taking time out of your weekend in hopping over to listen to the music. I hope you enjoyed your visit. In fact, I hope you enjoyed it so much that you cannot wait to tell your friends. Go ahead, hit the share (Facebook, Twitter, Google+) button! You know you wanna. 😉 Be sure to join me on the dance floor each week for Monday’s Music Moves Me!

  1. for me it’s Moya Brennan, Clannad and Enya
    then Snow Patrol !
and of course Celtic Women and Celtic Thunder =)
no end to the Irish wonders…

    have a great weekend Cathy.
Songs on Sundays is Live !

  2. A great band!
And I love the idea of feature voices of Ireland. Of course, I immediately go to U2. The Cranberries are good too. Then there is The Pogues — which is an acquired taste perhaps. I love this one band called Hothouse Flowers.

In Canada, it’s all about Great Big Sea, then Ashley MacIsaac, and Natalie MacMaster: 2 unbelieveable fiddle players.

    1. Well, I’m certainly going to have to check out some of these groups that you brought to my attention. BTW, what’s the difference between a fiddle and violin? Do you know? One’s folksy and the other classy sounding? Really, I want to know!
