This month’s honorary co-hostess is little ole me

❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵

This is a mewsic linky party. Every other week we have a suggested mewsic theme (see side menu) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our mewsic enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

[tweetthis]Hit the #MondaysMusicMovesMe dance floor with me! @xmasdolly [/tweetthis]

The 4M honorary co-host spots are nearly filled for the year.  There’s only one month available, October.  If you’re interested then secure your place by sending me an email.  You can look at the themes posted so far on my 2021 4M Prompts page (upper left corner above blog header).  I’m thrilled how quickly everyone stepped up to take a turn which is awesome! 👏

Before I leave, I want to give you the heads up that I deleted my Twitter account.  I appreciate the many followers I picked up over the years but it’s time to step away from that platform.  I still have Facebook and my posts will publish on my FB fan page side but otherwise I’m  not very active on the site.

That’s a wrap for now. If you enjoyed The Star Sisters this morning, then check back tomorrow for more of their mewsic in my Tickle Me Tuesday edition. Have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

So that’s what happened to Stars on 45. I really enjoyed those Andrews Sisters covers, along with one of my favorite songs from a fav 80’s artist, Howard Jones. And Friends of Distinction – I had forgotten all about “Love Me or Let Me Be Lonely”. A nice set.

  • Nicole/DVArtist

Wow! The Andrew Sisters where the greatest. These gals are fabulous. I love this type of music. My dad and I would dance in the living room while my 5 younger siblings and mom would watch. Dad and I could “swing” Nice memories.

  • XmasDolly

You go girl you really rocked it for sure and wow those girls really sound like the Andrew Sisters don’t they? Well, sorry I have to cut this short unfortunately I’ve got a nasty cold & I think I’m wanting to go lay down. So, you did a great job here my friend. Hugs Hugs and more hugs!!!! TAke those vitamins!!!

      Marie,

      I’m sorry you’re not feeling well, darlin’! I’m glad you found time to come over to sample my music. Don’t worry, I’m real good about taking my vitamins, Ma’am. 🙂 Don’t forget the orange juice! Take it easy and get well, my friend. {{hugs}}

Hi Cathy, this is a interesting mixture of tunes! Tappin’ my toes to the Star Sisters. ☺ I remember #3 but don’t know the other ones.
Leaving Twitter? I’ve been sharing your posts there and it’s a great resource for bloggers (along with Facebook), but I guess a number of people are fed up with it for political reasons. Anyway, glad you’re still here. Cheers!

      Debbie,

Twitter has turned into a bunch of Nazis, as well as Facebook, with their constant policing of conservative users blocking or deleting their posts. It seems like it’s okay if the other side has their say but anyone who’s views do not line up with these big tech companies then off rolls the head. It’s all madness. I remember when I was a kid in school, the teacher would tell us freedom of speech wasn’t allowed in some countries and that they could go to jail for vocalizing their beliefs. I knew then what a privilege it was to live in America. I also thought such things would never happen here. It looks like that’s what liberal politicians (both parties), MSM, and corrupt businessmen want for our nation. The violence from last week was perpetrated primarily, maybe 100%, by Antifa and BLM members posing as Trump supporters. Unfortunately, anyone wishing to incite chaos and violence at a MAGA rally had an easy way in by dressing like the crowd so to not call attention until it was too late. That’s the way the enemy works.

My plans to blog hasn’t changed but as you know I’ve pulled back on Facebook because of the same nonsense. I want to offer clarification on why I deleted my Twitter account. I know my decision may ruffle feathers, maybe even hurt feelings but it’s not my intent. Thanks for visiting, my friend!

I try to stay away from politics and primarily use twitter for blog and art shop promotions, so I don’t see that stuff. Censorship is bad, though. We don’t have such a vitriolic divide along political lines in Canada and I don’t understand it. Anyway, as long as we can stay friends in the Blogosphere, that’s a good thing! ☺ Enjoy your week!

Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy! Love it. It is one of my favorite songs to play (trumpet). I firmly believe it is impossible not to at least tap your foot, if not break out into full dance, with BWBB.

      Robin,

The Andrew Sisters were fabulous but I think the Star Sisters do a lovely job. 🙂 Who knows, maybe I’ll put up some vintage Andrew Sisters songs. That would be a lot of fun!

  • Sandee

Awww, that little one is playing some tunes. So cute.

I love all the music from that era. I’ve got lots of it. Those three did a great job too.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥

I still look at Twitter but don’t post. I figure if I did, they’d eventually ban me anyway since our freedoms to think as we wish are going bye bye. Sigh. Thanks for helping to host; I’m having an issue getting on Marie’s site still.

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Awww-some 4M Monday, dear friend! I hope you and DH had a nice weekend.

Looks like that baby is learning how to tickle the ivories. There’s a good chance he or she will develop a keen interest in music and perhaps become a great musician someday.

I enjoyed your play list of random songs. Thanks for the shout out. I never get tired of watching and listening as those Star Sisters (a splinter act of the Dutch studio group Stars on 45 aka Starsound) imitate the famous Andrews Sisters. As they performed that medley, they did a great job of bringing back the WWII era with their look and authentic sound. “Hey World,” the title song from the 2020 album by Carolina born Nashville country singer Lee Brice featuring Nigerian artist Blessing Offor, is a timely song pick as 2021 comes in like a lion with trouble trouble everywhere. I can imagine the late, great Ray Charles singing that song which encourages us to turn off the news occasionally and tune in to the sweet sounds of nature, such as the wind whispering through the pines. “Love Or Let Me Be Lonely” and that live (lip sync) performance by The Friends of Distinction, is another video I recently posted at Shady’s Place. Thanks for re-posting it here this morning. It’s a great song and my favorite by the group. The John Rich song “Earth To God” is another powerful message song, and I like the “B roll” footage used in the video reminding us that in addition to the pandemic and social unrest, our country typically has its hands full every year dealing with natural disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and wildfires. It was good to see scenes of people of different races working together and helping one another rebuild. I like your choice of the title “Things Can Only Get Better.” New wave/synth-pop artist Howard Jones sounds a lot like Duran Duran and was part of the so-called Second British Invasion of America in the 80s. His videos were played often on the MTV style station where I worked.

I smiled at that doggie’s overly optimistic New Year resolutions. 🙂

Thanks for the morning entertainment and inspiration, dear friend Cathy, and have a good week!

      Tom,

I thought there was a possibility that it was you who share Friends of Distinction. I try to add a blogger to the comments section of a file I save so I’ll know but either I forgot or it’s a technical mishap. Thanks for reminding me it was you. John Rich’s song really struck a chord with me and I felt it important to share such a beautiful song right now. The people of earth really do need God but I think many don’t see it that way which is so sad. Thanks for stopping by this morning, my friend. Have a good week, oh yeah, it’s snowing here Knoxville as I type. 👏
