I hope you’re having fun relieving your childhood with my Looney Tune art sketch features and cartoon clips found on YouTube. I thought it might be fun to take a quiz to find out which Looney Tunes character you are. I took the quiz and I’m Penelope. Click here to begin and when you’re done, let me know in comments.
From the Wiki source I’ve used throughout the challenge, Quick Brown Fox and Rapid Rabbit fits today’s letter but these cartoon characters weren’t apart of my childhood. I was a bit intrigued by the 1988 Daffy Duck’s Quackbusters. I have not seen the movie nor could I find a free streaming option but it appears other than the opening scene that it’s a compilation (see list below) of several shorts that I always associated with Halloween. It definitely is a good piece together for the Quackbusters. After reviewing the cartoons, I decided to illustrate a scenes that always tickled me as a kid and still does, Hyde and Go Tweet.
I found YouTube clips of all the shorts mentioned at Wiki, so if you have time and interested then here’s the list.
- The Night of the Living Duck (1988)
- Daffy Dilly (1948)
- The Prize Pest (1951)
- Water, Water Every Hare (1952)
- Hyde and Go Tweet (1960)
- Claws for Alarm (1954)
- The Duxorcist (1987)
- Transylvania 6-5000 (1963)
- The Abominable Snow Rabbit (1961)
- Punch Trunk (1953)
- Jumpin’ Jupiter (1955)
This theatrical production was Mel Blanc last before his passing a year later. He provided the voices for many of the characters. Here’s a trailer for the film.

Never heard of “Quackbusters”. But I will say that’s an intimidating looking bird you’ve drawn.

Cool sketch!
I took the quiz and I am Bugs! 🐰 Great sketches, Cathy! 😘
I love Hyde and Go Tweet – such a great memory from childhood of watching that. Love the two of them together and great drawing.
Excellent drawing. I wouldn’t want to turn around and see that critter standing over me.
My “Q” song for the day:

That FrankenTweety was funny!
Hyde and Go Tweet is totally terrific!
Nice sketch of Tweety — and I’m definitely enjoying the embedded cartoons each day 🙂 https://mollyscanopy.com/2021/04/questioning-everything-atozchallenge/
I got Bugs! Who knew I would be Bugs but i am ok with that. I just love your sketch and I just talked about hat one in one of your earlier posts. Tweety turns all Hyde on poor Sylvester. This is just before Sylvester literally falls apart. You have done this one really well and can’t wait to see it in colour.
That came out great. XO
Another great sketch, even if I still can’t recall it…
Not heard of Quackbusters, but aren’t we glad you had!
The quiz was hard, I had trouble picking options. For one, I love the color blue, and there was no blue listed! How can anyone forget blue? (I hope you didn’t make the quiz, but I have a feeling you didn’t, for one, you spell better!) Anyway, it put me as Sylvester, a “family man” who is “sociable.” ME? Sociable? HA! That quiz didn’t know me at all!

I got: Sam
Sam is about 23 years old, is loud, and likes to play games. He hates rabbits, and looses control easily. Even if he gets on with Marvin, Marvin and Sam have the opposite personalities. Sam likes everything to go his way, and will kick off if it doesn’t go to plan.
I love your sketch. I love all your sketches and you couldn’t have picked a better A2Z challenge. Such fun.
I linked you to Happy Tuesday.
Have a fabulous day, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥
I never saw that show before but it looks like a lot of fun. I’ve always had a soft spot for underdogs and underducks too. RIP Mel Blanc and thanks for all the awesome characters! <3
Excellent Quackbuster post dear friend. Hyde always scared me….I didn’t like that he could eat Sylvester, but it never bothered me too much when Sylvester tried to eat Tweety. (I wonder why?) I took the quiz and that was fun. I’m a Bugs Bunny, now I would have expected to be Taz. hmph. Anyways stroll on over and have some Quiet Time if you need it. Have a great day and I’m going to try to be back to gander at some of those videos as well as the BoTB’s.
Cheers,
Crackerberries
Hi, Cathy!
Happy Q-day, dear friend!
I took the quiz. The results revealed that I am most like Gossamer the monster. 🙂 However I don’t think my answers match the description of Gossamer given at the end of the quiz.
I watched the Hyde and Go Tweet cartoon clip upon which your drawing is based. It was a hoot to see Tweety ingest the Hyde Formula, grow into a giant bird and cause Sylvester to literally go to pieces. As Tweety fluctuates between jumbo and pint size, the wily cat pulls himself together and alternately chases and runs away from Tweety. As is always the case, Sylvester loses in the end. (Spoiler alert) Running through the wrong door, he falls into an empty elevator shaft. 🙂 I’m sure he’ll be back, unhurt, in the very next episode. Your sketch is excellent. Colossal Tweety looks ferocious and Sylvester looks shocked and is rapidly turning into a scaredy-cat.
Thank you for remembering Mel Blanc, the talented voice actor who provided the voices of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and most of the other characters from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons during the golden age of American animation.
Have a wonderful Tuesday. dear friend Cathy. I’ll be back tamale for your R-day expose’!
