Friday Sillies

Pre-holiday Turkey Humor

This is DH’s off-Friday. This week and next are short ones for us more so than usual.  That’ll be nice coming off our vacation but it’ll throw me way behind.  I’m not going to stress about it, though.  I’m just going to roll with the flow.  While I’m off doing who knows what, I’m going to do my best to bring you some grins and giggles in this edition of Friday Funnies.

I’m looking for funny material.  If you stumble on funny videos or memes or anything that’s make you smile then send it to me via email and if I use it in my Friday Funnies segment then I will credit you for the contribution!

It’s time for Friendly Fill-ins.  I haven’t participated in quite a while and although snagged the fill-ins to answer, I’m not sure if I’ll actually link up.  I definitely plan to visit the hostess of the meme to let them know, though.

1. I am thankful for good health, DH working from home, and for every person in my life.

2. I look forward to eating everything on Thanksgiving. It’s so hard to choice a single dish but the pecan pie sort is calling my name.

3. I didn’t realize I failed to include this meme in my Friday line until I made a quick change to the post to do them since DH is working today.  This is his slated Friday off but his boss said he could work today and take Wednesday before Thanksgiving off which made me happier than Thanksgiving turkey when he learns that he’s not on the menu this year. 😀

4. There’s no shame in having seconds for Thanksgiving but it’s been a long time since I’ve actually had more than one serving.  I remember the day when I’d eat so much that I was miserable.  I’m pretty well content with the balance in my eating for the holidays.  That’s not an easy thing to do something do.

Alrighty, that’s it for now… but don’t forget to stop by tomorrow for Saturday Songsuasion if you’re in Blogosphere.  Have a funtastic Friday, dear friends! X💋X💋, Cathy

Love all the funnies, Cathy. It is Saturday morning and I am sitting here with my coffee giggling away. Great fill ins. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here but I remember Christmases past. When we were first married, so as not to upset our mothers we would have two Christmas day dinners, one at lunch time and one in the evening. We were so stuffed!! Now I can’t even manage a full serving. I should be slim but I am not.

Your comment about one serving made me laugh while remembering my cousin Janet and I stuffing ourselves as kids ( no pun intended ) and then getting into our jeans and swinging on the oak tree’s rope swing til we were hungry again and would go back into the kitchen to pick away at the turkey and other delish tidbits! Thanks for reminding me of the fun times! Have a wonderful day!

Love all the funnies and your fill-ins. I only take one helping too and I’ve learned that moderation is key to losing weight. Okay need the exercise too. I’m going to be thin by this time next year.

I’m happy hubby is working today and is going to have next Wednesday off. That’s wonderful.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Love and hugs. ♥

    Hi, Cathy!

I’m in need of some Sillies, dear friend. Looks like I’ve come to the right place!

I love the cute tabby giggling as his belly is tickled by your paint brush. That poor turkey thinks he is getting the V.I.P. treatment, but it will soon be R.I.P. instead. 🙂 I also liked the one with the forgetful farmer and the turkeys in the barnyard trying to tell him he was planning to chop wood, not their necks. “Thursdays Temp” is another clever T-giving related cartoon.

I enjoyed reading your answers to the Friendly Fill-ins. As another Thanksgiving observance approaches, you truly are blessed with many things for which to be thankful. Yessum, there are members of Mrs. Shady’s family who are picky eaters. At family feasts, you can see them loading their plates with meat and potatoes and little else. Like you, I love variety and always try a little of everything offered. If and when I go back for seconds, I narrow it down to the foods I liked best the first time. I greatly admire you for eating sensibly at a time when so many people are overeating, a practice that will continue through the Christmas and New Year holidays as well. When 2022 begins, they will be miserable and regretful and making resolutions to lose weight. You will be thanking yourself for having practiced common sense and restraint and not yielding to temptation at every meal. The parody song you posted, “The Turkey Song,” is a good reminder of how many choices we will face at the T-giving feast, including the choice to eat in moderation.

Thanks for the Friday Funnies, dear friend Cathy. I hope you and DH have a nice weekend. Tamale’s my birthday, but I still plan to drop by for some Saturday Songsuasion. Have a good one, dear friend!
