Monday's Music Moves Me

My Life According to ZZ Top #music

Welcome kittens, dawgs, and Monday! Yep, yep the weekend is over, but don’t let that bring ya down. Recently I enjoyed reading a post at The Doglady’s Den . It was so much fun I wanted to do it. Don’t worry I’m not stealing Debbie’s idea. In fact, she invited her readers to borrow from the post.

Listen to ZZ Top’s Greatest Hits (I own this album) while you read through my answers and because I do not know most of the song titles I used, then I linked a YouTube shortcut for you to listen to any or all them.

In the spirit of fun, here’s My Life According to ZZ Top.

Are you a male or female?  I’m a Hi Fi Mama of three! 😉

Describe yourself:  I chose to describe myself as DH might, Legs.

How do you feel?: This is a toss-up, I’m either Delirious or My Mind is Gone or maybe just a little of both.

Describe where you currently live: It’s anything, other than a Groovy Little Hippie Pad.

If you could go anywhere, where would you go? I’d love to go west someday and while I’m out there, let’s do Viva Las Vegas!

Your favorite form of transportation: Why of course, I Want to Drive You home in my Thunderbird.

Your best friend is: That Sharp Dressed Man you know as call DH.

Your favorite color is: I think I’d rather tell you DH’s favorite color Cherry Red.

What’s the weather like? What can say, except it Sure Got Cold After the Rain.

Favorite time of day: As Time Goes By I find my favorite time is often in Stages throughout the day.

If your life was a TV show, what would it be called? What’s Up With That?

What is life to you? These days it seems like it’s a Decision or Collision.

Your relationships: It’s all about Gimme Some Lovin’ baby! I’m glad it comes to me freely from DH ?

Your fear: Doing the Jailhouse Rock! lol

What is the best advice you have to give? Life is too short, Enjoy and Get It On!

If you could change your name, you would change it to: Maybe, Leila or Francine, but I really can’t see myself as either. Can you?

Thought for the day: I Cant’ Stop Rockin’ on Monday’s Music Moves Me!

How you would like to die: Asleep in the Dessert or anywhere as long as it’s in my sleep.

Your soul’s present condition: A few things like blog nominations and April A-Z Challenge Got Me Under Pressure, but I’ll get through it.

Your motto: “I’m Bad, I’m Nationwide” Okay, not really, but doesn’t that sound cool?

Do you want to play along to?

My Life According to Band

After you’ve published your own My Life According to (BAND/ARTIST) music challenge post, then hop back over here to link up for others to read your answers.

Great selection of songs. I’m glad you choose ZZ-Top over Huey Lewis. 😉
I’d feel like i was stealing from you.
I like the name of your TV show. ‘What’s Up With That?’

Hokey-Smoke! Am I late getting to this, or what?

Well, CATHY, you did a great job on this one. Fun to read, and I’m guessing it was fun to create, too.

At first, I thought: ZZ Top and Cathy? That doesn’t seem right.
But then I remembered that you HAVE used some Hard Rock in some BOTB contests, so it really does make some sense. You’re the multi-faceted Cathy.

And seeing as how you’re a ZZ Top fan, I think you’re going to like something that FAE and I have cooked up for the April 1st BOTB installments.

Stephen, I’ve fooled you all with this band choice it seems. lol I’m not a die hard heavy rocker. I consider myself more of the middle of the road kinda rocker, but every now and then I find a group like ZZ Top that has a lot of good songs, as found on their Greatest Hit collection that really rock me the right way. I really do love these ole boys. They not only know how to rock the house down, but they absolutely make no apologizes for their love of women through their songs. I will be sure to see what you and Fae have cooked up for the April 1st BoTB.

That would definitely be hard to do if I did it. But then again you are always so fun and creative Cathy!
    That was fun!

Hope your week is going great!

I love ZZ Top. Seen them in person and they really put on a great show.l Your answers were great. Interesting how their songs fit so well for this little meme. Mine’s going up tomorrow.

I’m looking for an email address for you right now and having some trouble. It might just be me, but I wanted to tell you a little about my WIP, before I sent it and of course, I’ll need the address to send it. Mine is farawayeyes18@gmail.com. When you have a chance drop me a quick note with your address and I’ll try to get right back to you. In the meantime, I’ll keep looking.

    • Cathy Kennedy

Fae, Oh you’re playing along in this little meme, too. I’ll watch for your post. My email address is actually under the About Me tab. You have to actually click on About Me to see that particular page. I didn’t realize the drop down menu is a little confusing in that if you don’t know that the About Me is not just a label, but it has content. I’m going to have to re-work my menu, but meanwhile, I did move my email address to my side bar where it’s now easily visible. 😀 I shot you an email already, so be on the look for it. Thanks for calling this to my attention and have a good evening!

You did a great job with this, Cathy. ZZ Top, no less! 😀 Not what I expected.

Thanks for participating. I added your link to the original post. Boogie on, girlfriend!

    • Cathy Kennedy

Debbie, I stumped you and Lee with my band choice. This was a fun idea and I’m glad I did it. Thanks for the inspiration, my friend and I’ll be seeing you tomorrow! 😉

  • XmasDolly

What a neat idea! You did fantastic there girlfriend, but I’m so far behind still from when I was sick and now with me facing back surgery I need to get everything done, but that was fun just reading your answers… Love ZZ Top!!

    • Cathy Kennedy

Michele, ZZ Top is one rockin’ hoppin’ band! I really dig their classic hits found on their Greatest Hits album! Now to boogie over to dance with you!

  • Thomas Anderson

    Hi, Cathy!

It looks like Debbie the Doglady has invented another fun hop for us to try. You did a marvelous job of writing a detailed biography using ZZ Top songs. The blues and boogie rock band from Houston first caught my attention in 1975 with their single “Tush.” In 1983, ZZ Top’s Eliminator album spawned hit singles and videos that practically went viral on MTV and they burned up the request lines at the MTV style station where I worked. I also used their music in a few of my commercials and promos. It’s funny, though. There are quite a few ZZ top purists who dismiss the band’s synthrock period of the 80s, complaining that the boys abandoned their Texas roots music and adopted a sound that was too “discofied,” too commercial. I love it all.

Thank you, dear friend Cathy, and have a great week!

Tom, This is a cool fun idea. Debbie said she spotted it on Facebook. I really enjoyed pulling this post together. I remember Tush. The one thing I really like about ZZ Top is that they REALLY like women. It’s quite evident from their song lyrics how much they love women. lol Oddly, I always thought ZZ Top was from Alabama for some reason. I don’t know why, maybe it’s the reference some people use when describing their style as Southern Rock. When my brain hears southern then I always think George, Alabama, and Florida. For some reason the southwestern states just don’t figure in, but it became clear to me while going through all of their albums that many of their songs have a southern names which made me suspicious. I’m glad you told me that they are from Houston. I love ZZ Top’s Greatest Hits album. It’s chock-full of fabulous songs!

    • Cathy Kennedy

Lee, yeah, ZZ Top isn’t the first band that came to mind doing this challenge. I tried to think ahead of songs that fit the questions and that just wasn’t going anywhere. ZZ Top has some great classics that I really LOVE and decided to make their song titles work. In the end it didn’t turn out too bad. True, I didn’t play exactly by the rules of answering with only the song title, but that’s the little rule breaker that I am. 😀 Thanks for dropping by. See tomorrow for BoTB!
