Little Dragon

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Welcome to the Sunday edition of Monday’s Music Moves Me! Are you ready to get your groove on?  This week it’s anything goes with whatever music moves you.  This gives me the perfect opportunity to bring back a new artist discovery from a few months back.

In May, I came across the song, “Another Lover” by Little Dragon. This song is from their New Me, Same Us album. I borrowed the YT New Me, Same Us playlist that’s suppose to have all the tracks from that album including the song title I mentioned. Hit play for a continuous stream of music!

Tracks: 1. Hold On 2. Rush 3. Another Lover 4. Kids 5. Every Rain 6. New Fiction 7. Sadness 8. Are You Feeling Sad? 9. Where You Belong 10. Stay Right Here 11. Water
The theme this week is whatever music moves you for freedom of song choice week.

This is a music linky party.  Your co-hostess are StacyAlana, and Me.   Every other week we have a suggested music theme (see weekly prompts here) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our music enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

4M design by Cathy Kennedy

Today is a chillax day at our house.  We got back yesterday from our New England vacation.  It took us more than 24 hours to get back.  We stopped for gas and rest breaks only.  We did better than I expected.  I’m pretty tired.  Hopefully, I’ll be ready to jump into things tomorrow.  I took loads of pictures, so you most certainly can expect a slide show and stories to follow.  😉

Before I forget, there’s change in the wind….starting next month, I’m moving the 4M publish day back to Mondays.  I will continue to open the party early for anyone wishing to join on Sundays.  That’s it for now, I will finish things off with a more recent song release by Little Dragon, Drifting Out.

This is CAAC signing off, have a boogietastic week! X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. Hi Cathy! 🙂 Thanks for the introduction to Little Dragons. They have an interesting sound. Welcome back from vacation! It’s always hard to get back into the old routine. I’m looking forward to your photos, but hope you get some rest, first.

    1. Hey Debbie, It is hard to get back into the groove after any hiatus but with blogging just one day per week right now it’s not been too bad. Doing more might prove otherwise. I did manage to squeeze together some pix to share in tomorrow’s edition of Wild Wednesday. This will be a wonderful way to inch myself back into blogging a little more frequently. I don’t think I’m ready to do daily blogging again now and I’m not sure that I want to fall back into that routine. We’ll see, though. I definitely need time for rest. I’m still tired. lol Thanks for dropping by to enjoy the music, my friend.

  2. I have to admit, “Rush” was my favorite song in this set. A couple of the tunes had a very powerful, almost over-powering base line. To be honest the sound was a little more electric than I generally prefer, but that’s what makes the world go ’round. Have a blessed week.

    1. Little Dragon does have more electric than I generally care for but it was different and struck me at the right moment. I guess what this says to me is there’s a place and time for all genres.

  3. Welcome home and I look forward to your pictures and stories. I haven’t been to Maine since 2011 and it’s time for me to go back. Interesting sound that Little Dragon has; it’s almost hypnotic. My favorites were Rush and Drifting Out. Alana ramblinwitham

    1. We had a grand time but it’s good to be home no matter how wonderful a place you visit is! Now, it’s time to get back to real life again and get things in order. October is expected to be busy for us. Thanks, my friend!

    1. Thanks, Nicole! We’re glad to be home. I half teasingly told DH that we need to start planning our next vacation to Maine. Two weeks wasn’t enough to do what we wanted. We made the best of every second that we had, though. 🙂

  4. I wish I had known you were going to be in New England. I would have loved to meet you. XO

    1. Ellen,

That would’ve been so fun. Perhaps next time, it’ll work out where we can meet. We were only in southern Maine for three nights before moving on to the next phase of our trip. I have a batch of pix ready to share for Wild Wednesdays this week. 😉

  5. Now the picture is there! Sorry. Awww… I wanna smooch those little peeps, but I’d probably get a good peckin’. 🙂

  6. Hi, Cathy!

I’m happy to know you have returned safely from your trip to New England. Welcome back, dear friend! You have certainly been missed. I hope you had a wonderful time up in Maine and NH including a nice visit with your DD up there. I am eager to see the pictures you took.

It might just be a problem with my browser, but I don’t see a picture of a furry critter that you usually include at the top of this post. You might want to check it out and upload it again.

I think I remember you introducing Little Dragon, because I seem to recall liking the Swedish EDM band’s sound and being fascinated by their exotic female lead singer. To refresh my memory, I just now read that Yukimi Nagano was born and raised in Sweden and has a Japanese father and Swedish-American mom. I can imagine Little Dragon’s New Me, Same Us album playing in the background during Friday Happy Hour at the coolest club in town. Can you? I love these songs! Yukimi’s smooth, intimate vocal style suits my ears just fine, and the deep beats penetrate my soul. I see that three of these songs, “Hold On,” “Are You Feeling Sad?” featuring a vocal collab with American artist Kali Uchis, and “Where You Belong” all placed in the top 40 on the U.S. Dance chart, the first songs by the band to make a dent on any U.S. chart. It was nice to see Yukimi perform in that mewsic video for the latter song, “Where You Belong.” I must say that my favorites by Little Dragon are the first track, “Hold On,” and “Are You Feeling Sad?,” their second and highest charting song on the U.S. Dance survey. I also notice that Little Dragon appeared as featured artists on six singles released by various other groups during the 2010s. They’re in the groove!

Thanks for the mewsical entertainment, dear friend Cathy, and welcome back to the wide, wacky and wonderful world of blogging. Have a great week and come see me at Shady’s Place when you get rested up. Also keep in mind that we might get hit by a strong hurricane in the middle of the week. If I disappear for a while and become unresponsive, it’s because the storm knocked out our power. Thank you!

    1. Tom,

Our time in Maine was wonderful. The best part of our trip was spending three days with DD#2. I’ll share more of everything with photos I hope as soon as Wednesday. I took a ton of pictures.

I love music and I love to dance but never have I ever been to a “club”. I can imagine Little Dragon being the kind of music playing over the noise of the crowd, though. Thanks for sharing a mini-bio on Yukimi Nagano and the popularity of three of their songs.

I got notification yesterday from The Weather channel of the threat coming y’alls way from Ian. I hope it’s not as bad as they’re forecasting. We’ll certainly keep you you and all Floridians in our prayers. Stay safe and thank you for the warm welcome back, my friend.
