Christmas Vacation Movie Teaser

Every year at Christmas, we gather in the ole living room to watch what’s become our family’s most fun movie, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.  Initially, I could not see getting emotionally attached to such a silly movie, but I have! I look forward to seeing this movie year after year. Periodically throughout the year, a scene from this movie will flash through my mind followed by explosive laughter.

The story is set around the notion of an old fashion Christmas in Clark and Ellen Griswold home with their two children: Audrey and Rusty.  They invite their parents to share in the celebration. However, Clark’s dreams are quickly dashed away with whacky mishaps abounding throughout the movie. You’ll find yourself laughing to tears.  Here are some clips from the movie to jog your memory or to entice you to watch it for the first time. Enjoy!

We’re kicking off our fun old fashion family Christmas by heading out into the country in the old front-wheel drive sleigh to embrace the frosty majesty of the winter landscape and select that most important of Christmas symbols. ~Clark Griswold
Remember how blindly Clark drives straight beneath a logging truck with everyone panicked?
The Griswold’s find their tree, but Audrey’s eyes are frozen.

Clark finally lights the house and is sharing it with the family, but who unexpectedly appears on the lawn no other than cousin Eddie and his wife, Catherine.

@Margaret…Christmas is 365 days of the year, but as humans we often don’t reflect that in our daily lives. But at this most festive time of the entire year, we all get as giddy as children in a 5 and Dime. Yes, I remember what those are as our little rural town had one when I was a youngster. Honestly though, Christmas brings the best out in each of us and for that I say, “Hooray!” Thanks for stopping by Margaret!
