Christmas Inspiration #2

Good morning and Merry Christmas!  All month, I’ve presented to you blog posts from Christmases past on Wednesdays but today’s flashback from December 18, 2011of this nativity scene in downtown Knoxville belongs here this morning.

Canon SD880 point n’ shoot digital camera.

Isn’t this scene glorious? We came upon this while driving around town, as we made our annual Christmas light sight-seeing. Imagine, the fate of mankind forever changed in Bethlehem more than 2000 years ago with one single birth. Isn’t that glorious?

What led to the nativity scene inspiration? Saint Francis of Assisi in 1223 created the first known living nativity display. His inspiration came after a trip to the Holy Land where he saw Jesus’ birthplace. He intended his re-enactment of the manger scene would cultivate the worship of Christ.

For centuries the nativity scene correlated with the Divine account of Jesus’ birth as recorded in the two of the gospels in the New Testament. In St. Luke 2:8-20, Christ’s lowly birth depicted in the manger with angels, shepherds, and cattle share in the miraculous wonder and St. Matthew 2:1-23 speaks of the Three Wise men who followed a star bearing gifts to the new-born king.  Both accounts highlight important events necessary in relaying why we, as Christians celebrate this blessed season.

The surreal beauty, a virgin…no room at the inn…a baby is perhaps the most humbling and tender-hearted events the world has ever known.  For God so loved the world, He sent His son as a tiny baby long ago on a starry night. The ultimate Christmas gift to us all!

Music is incredible. It serves to minister to your soul in times of happiness and sorrow. Be prepared for your heart to be touched, as you listen to Clay Aiken sing “Mary, Did You Know?”

Did you know…  The traditional three colors of Christmas are green, red, and gold. Green has long been a symbol of life and rebirth; red symbolizes the blood of Christ, and gold represents light as well as wealth and royalty. See Random Facts & Interesting Trivia For the Curious Mind.

CHRISTmas is the reason for the season!

Tomorrow morning, join me for Monday’s Music Moves Me as I finish the year out with one more week of holiday tunes. Have a blessed, peaceful Christmas day in the company of those you love the best! Merry Christmas!! X💋X💋, Cathy
