Monday's Music Moves Me

Chayce Beckham

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus

This is the last 4M party for August.  How did that happen? Time flies when you’re having a good time…or just so darn busy to notice how fast it’s getting away from ya.  Our music prompt this week is your choice, so it’s whatever music moves you

I am absorbing posts previously published on a now private WP blog I created here on CAAC on 4Ms no theme weeks. Once this is all done I will permanently delete that site.  Today’s featured artist is American Idol season 21 winner Chayce Beckham.

When I shared Chayce on my now inactive blog this song is one that I shared along with some covers.  “23” is an original which was written while on AI which he performed.  This time, I’m focusing on more of his works.  I love the grit in his voice and story telling presentation. I think he’ll do well in the country genre and he’s certainly someone to watch in this business. Hit play to enjoy!

You will find the co-hostesses to this party featured to the right in my side bar underneath the 4M banner.  Remember this is a music hop but the rules are simple. Your post must contain at least one song or your URL is marked “No Music”.  Every other week, a suggested (not mandatory) theme is given to build your song picks. YouTube and other music sites have options to create and embed playlists or individual songs into your post. On the off weeks, we dance to whatever music moves you – your choice. To access the dance party, just add your music post below and visit others on the floor.  To show that you stopped by, please leave a comment or click the “like” button for each person you visit.  I hope you enjoyed the music!

This is a music link up.  Your post must contain music (at least one song) or your URL is marked “No Music”.

This week has been an emotional rollercoaster ride.  A week ago this past Saturday, my 85 year old Daddy had a massive heart attack “Widow Maker”.  Complications led him to being placed on a ventilator. Things were really scary.  His vitals slowly began to improve.  We drove up on Friday to see him.  By the time we left the hospital, they had him off the ventilator and wearing the next breathing mask called a “Bipap”. He was conscience, weak, not very responsive, and couldn’t speak.  On the way home, my niece sent me a picture of Daddy without the “Bipap” and wearing a different breathing mask followed with a video of him saying hi to me.  That thrilled me beyond words.  I’m asking for everyone to please keep him in prayer.  He has a long road ahead to a full recovery and is expected to be in ICU for awhile yet.

Up next on CAAC is my Sep. 1st BOTB and I hope you’ll stop by to participate in the voting process.  Thanks for dropping by, have a boogietastic week, dear friends!  X💋X💋, Cathy

Chayce is really good, Cathy! I like “Keepin’ me up all night” the best. I see in the comments that your dad is making progress, I’m so glad. You both are in my thoughts.

Thank you Diedre! I’m still concerned about him. Yesterday, they had to put him back on tube feedings (through the nose) because his sodium level is too high. He’s dehydrated despite the IVs. They are trying to give him something to drink by mouth every hour. I hope by today when my mom and sister go to see him that he’s improved. It’s hard to see Daddy in this state. He’s not that full of life, happy person I know. Thanks the concern and prayers, dear friend!

Awww, what a couple of cutie pies eating watermelon. Adorable.

Love your videos. I’m all ready for next months co-hosting.

Prayers for your dad. I hope he gets well and can return home.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs, Cathy. ♥

So, have you heard from the family in how they’re doing? I hope so, and it being Sunday night I went to church today and lit two candles & 1 for your daddy & 1 for the rest of your family that all remains healthy and keep getting better! God bless them and you my dearest friend. I never heard of this guy, but I really like him. Great music! Thanks for sharing.. I especially like the last tune! Have a good day and take care of you two… HUGS

      Marie,

Thank you for lighting candles for Daddy and my family. He continues to improve a wee bit each day and looks better as well. He was being tube fed while on the vent but they are now feeding him a soft diet. Yesterday, he wasn’t wearing a breathing mask. He does have the nasal breathing clip. The drugs he’s on has him talking wild and a bit paranoid. Hopefully that goes away as they take him off some of it. Mom is concerned he won’t understand the urgency of the new meds he’ll be given when he leaves the hospital and won’t take it which is important. He’s really stubborn! Keep those prayers going. It’s working!! He’s a miracle!!

God is good. He hears the cries of His children. Great news about your dad.
Great songs. I had forgotten just how good Chayce. Thanks for bringing him to the dance floor this week. Have a blessed week.

      Brian,

Thank you! I sure do appreciate the prayers and they’re working. I believe in God’s power and am awed with Daddy’s progress every day. Have a boogietastic week, furriends!

Glad your dad was able to get off the vent and the bipap. I will add him to my prayers. XO

      Ellen,

Daddy is only getting oxygen through the nasal clip now. The night before he didn’t sleep well, so I hope he slept better last night. Thanks for the prayers, my dear!

Hi Cathy. Learning about your Dad was the best news of this weekend. I will continue to send healing thoughts for his quick recovery. What cute hedgehogs! I enjoyed all of the Chayce Beckham songs although somehow I managed to close your blog and lost my first set of comments. Nice, easy listening. My favorite was 23. Alana ramblinwitham

      Alana,

The positive small changes with Daddy each day since we saw him on Friday has been a tremendous spirit booster. Thank you for the positive thoughts, my dear.

I’m glad you enjoyed Chayce. I’ve done that closed a blog off too soon before. That’s so annoying, isn’t it?

  • John Holton

I’m happy to hear your father is on the mend. I’ll keep him and you and yours in my prayers anyway: he still has a long way to go.

    Chayce Beckham is very good!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      John,

Yes, Daddy has a long way to go before he’ll be 100% his old self. I worry thinking about how aggravated he gets when he’s in the hospital. He absolutely hates it and I’m afraid the anxiety will shot his BP up triggering another heart attack. God is in control and I will trust in Him to keep Daddy calm. Thanks for the prayers and I’m so glad you enjoyed the music set!

I am really sorry to hear about your father. It’s such a scary and difficult time. Hopefully he continues to improve. I also didn’r really understand what you said about closing the blog. WIll the link up stop? Or do we go elsewhere? Sorry, might be a bit dim because it’s early morning for me….and coffee is yet to work it’s wonders….I will be hoping for a positive update re your father next week!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Lydia,

This blog is not closing. What I was talking about is I’m sharing content from an old blog that’s no longer available to the public. You don’t need to worry the linky party works. I’m sorry for the confusion. Thank you for your concerns for Daddy, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

    • Birgit Bedesky

I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. I know what it feels like to see one’s dad hooked up to rubes and looking so frail. It’s had and shocking but he seems to be doing better and that’s good. My thoughts are with you and your family. I hope your mom is ok but she has great support in you and the rest. Take care.
I enjoyed this man even though I’m not into country but he’s like country/folk.
