I’m gonna keep things short and sweet. It was quite obvious early on who had the best shot at winning in the Dream Lover BoTB Showdown. I probably don’t even need to tell y’all who won because nearly everyone voted for the same duet team.
The winner of this battle are bluegrass duet Katie and Lauren!
How about another sample or two by Katie Kessler?
This little gal is from Nashville, Tennessee. Shucks, we’re practically neighbors! 😀 She has a SoundCloud page for those who are members.
Special thanks to each of you for doing your civic duty by making your voices heard in this Battle of the Bands in picking the winner and as a reminder this is votes went.
Katie & Lauren: Tom, John, Lee, Sandee, Mimi, Brian, and Stephen
Jodie & Hayley: Birgit, Debbie, and Eugenia
Your participation is what make it fun to put these battles together. I hope you join me on March1st for my next BOTB showdown.
I hope you decide to hit the dance floor with me with the Sunday’s Edition of Monday’s Music Moves Me. This is CAAC signing off, be safe and well, dear friend!

I missed this round, but did go back to listen. I would have taken the Glasgow Girls, hands down, but for the tambourine. I hate tambourines with all my fibers.
BTW … I sent you an email on Messenger, a few weeks ago. Nothing pressing. Just a couple of videos as suggestions to this thing you do here on the interwebs.
Myke,
Perhaps in the next BOTB you’ll get a chance to vote. Are you referring to FB messenger? I really dislike using FB messenger and will do everything that I can to avoid using it. Facebook does enough spying on its subscribers. I’ll pop over there today to take a look, if I don’t forget and I truly appreciate your suggestions! Incidentally, it doesn’t bother me to receive links through email from people I know and have no reason to suspect its something malicious. Thanks a heap, ole pal!
Great battle, Cathy. At least it wasn’t a shutout! Rock on!
You do have a pretty cool neighbor!
Brian,
Nashville is more than 2-hours west of Knoxville but I still feel like the cities are neighbors. We’ve taken a several day trips to Nashville over the years. The traffic is insane. It’s a very busy town. I wouldn’t mind spending a long weekend there sometime. It would be cool to take in a show at the Grand Ole Opry or see Ray Stevens performing or a number of other things. There are a lot of celebrities who live there, too. It would be super cool to see some of the top dogs in the industry while taking in the city sometime but the closest I ever got was standing next to a life-size Taylor Swift waxed figure at the mall. lol
Well, at least I was not the only one voting to the other band. You just never know where it may lead.
Birgit,
I was really surprised Jodie and Hayley didn’t get more votes but that’s how it goes sometimes. I was half expecting her them to win but I was silently rooting for Katie & Lauren because I really love their bluegrass twist on the song.
Thanks for the fun battles, i hope you are having a great week.
Mimi,
So far my week is going well. I hope yours is, too. 😉
That was a good showdown. Such fun too. Music is in the ear of the beholder.
Have a fabulous day and week, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥
Sandee,
Ain’t that the truth, music is in the ear of the beholder/listener? lol
I like the first 🙂
Thanks, Kinga!
Hi, Cathy!
Happy Tickle Me Tuesday, dear friend! I hope you and DH had a nice weekend and that you are having fun behind the scenes cranking out A to Z content.
Yessum, I could tell early on day one how the vote was likely to go in your band battle. There’s no shame in a rout when you present two worthy contestants and one just happens to appeal a little more to most people. In other words, I doubt it was a snap decision for anyone who cast their vote. The homemade and seemingly impromptu, unrehearsed performance of “Dream Lover” by the bluegrass duo of Katie & Lauren was endearing, but I found much more convincing evidence of Katie Kessler’s talent as I ran through her SoundCloud stream. As I listened to this set of songs, all of which had the advantage of professional production and mixing, I concluded that Katie’s recordings are among the best of today’s Nashville Sound. Katie’s vocals and arrangements have a nostalgic retro sound that reminds me of popular country crossover artists of the 60s like Bobbie Gentry, Brenda Lee, Tammy Wynette and Jeannie C. Riley. They are just the right blend of bluegrass, traditional and new country. “Jesus And Hairspray” is an especially cute song, and I also very much enjoyed “Guitars And Whiskey Hearts.” What a great discovery Katie is. Thanks for the introduction!
Just a reminder, Cathy. Tamale morning I will be away from the blog circuit undergoing a routine medical procedure. If you happen to post something, I will be arriving to comment much later than usual. Thanks for the exciting mewsic this morning and enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Cathy!
Tom,
Thanks for dropping by to check the outcome of last week’s BOTB. I’m glad to know you enjoyed Katie’s song samples on SoundCloud. I’ll say a prayer for you tomorrow, my friend. Be well!!
