This winter has been cold. Yesterday we got a couple of inches of snow. It looks pretty but I don’t want it to stay around. I prefer seeing snowy scenes in pictures. In January 2022, I can’t believe it’s been that long, I posted a near identical sketch…well, technically it is because I used the same image and made revisions to today’s. That’s a cool thing you can do with digital illustrations.

And, like last time I used my revamped Procreate drawing to create an animated image using Lunapic online. It’s quite cool!

With yesterday’s snow, schools were cancelled around town the night before. I’m not sure why that was since it really didn’t amount too much to speak of unless they were afraid of the projected frigid temperatures would be a problem but when I woke up at 5:30, it was a chilly 30º. What am I missing here? See!

No big deal, right? Oh well…that’s the south for you. I’ll be back next time with Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays. Until next time, keep warm and stay healthy!

Those are so very nice.
Thanks, Patrick!
Beautiful sketches, Cathy. No snow in my area and I am dreaming of spring!

We got a little extra snow Wednesday night, too. It was cold yesterday and it hasn’t improved today. Sunday things are expected to be better. I can’t wait!
Beautiful. I love snow and snowmen. XO
Thank you, dearie!
Your art is so nice and right on time too!
Thanks!
Lovely sketches, Cathy – all versions.
If you could see the mountains of snow we have here, you’ll understand why I’m laughing a little. I bet the kids are loving it, though!
I understand why you laugh. In past years while visiting the mountains in the winter and if there was snow you always knew who was visiting. It always tickled us to see kids build snowmen on the vehicle’s tailgate or bumper knowing it would be melted before they reached the bottom of the mountain. It’s fun to see kids and adults who rarely see snow enjoy themselves, though. It brings out that child-like wonder in us all.
Here’s hoping spring arrives in your parts soon. I know that’s what I’m hoping for here.
On the weather channel, I watched gleeful children in Virginia Beach enjoy sledding and having such a fun time with their snow day. I wish we could get snow once a year where I live but, having lived in the South, I understand that joy. I liked your artwork. Alana ramblinwitham
It’s fun to see kids enjoy themselves in the snow. Every kid needs to experience this simple pleasure. It’s just when you grow up, you don’t want to have anything to do with it anymore. I’m freezing to death!
